I hear this again and again : ‘What can we do?  They have the power. We have nothing’.

My response is to please drop the self-pitying, look around and see how you can help right a wrong.

Any small measure by you will help the cause.

Hamidi Zulkifli has done his bit by launching a petition calling for Nathaniel’s release. This is how it reads.

To:  Bloggers Around the World

On 13th July 2007,

A prominent Malaysia Blogger, Nat (Nathaniel) Tan of jelas.info was detained by Malaysian police force which is currently tainted with several corruption scandals.

Ktemoc.blogspot.com reported that:

“Police took Nathaniel Tan of PKR away for questioning, without providing any reason at all. They entered his office at about 4.45 pm today, and told Tan to follow them to the Bukit Aman police headquarters. The policemen also requested that Tan bring his notebook computer with him. It is believed that he is being questioned on matters relating to certain postings on the Internet.”

Malaysia is currently tainted with several mind boggling scandals such as the cruel demonination of Altantuya and the support of gangster in the crime-infested state of Johor in Malaysia.

We the ordinary Malaysians have NO CHOICE but to seek help from international communities to petition the Malaysian government currently led by Abdullah Badawi to release Nathaniel Tan with immediate effect. We also hope your petition will be a signal to the Malaysian government to stop intimidating the Bloggers in the light of the coming General Election.’

I have signed the petition.

You could help by signing this petition and then sending a link to it to 10 friends with a request that they too sign it and send it on to 10 other friends.

It does not matter whether you know Nat. He is one of us. He is Malaysian.

We must not keep silent in the face of the injustice that is being inflicted on our fellow Malaysian.

Please quit the bitching and the griping and do something for a change.

    Hi
    A question to all readers?
Have you called ur ADUN & ur MP?
Please tell them of ur uneasiness & displeasure.
Make this a NIKE moment, – JUST DO IT!

  4. BobSam Says:

Kindly refer to my earlier posting.

Create an SMS which lists down the issues that concern you. (You can “steal” it from Haris’blog or Susan loone’s blog). And in ur SMS, kindly insert the contact numbers of the ADUN & MP. Then send it out as a chain mail SMS to your friends in your voting district.

If a sufficient number of people do this, this will put the fear of God into a lot of people, especially those who reside on the 4th floor.

  5. PEACELOVER Says:

I shall inform all the people that i know to do the same. Wouldn’t it be good if the citizens were given the right to arrest all those who are like cancerous cells eating up the nation under ISA coz they are the root cause of all these evil we are forced to face.
