MCCBCHST replied to Anita, who in turn sent a second letter. Both are reproduced below.

 Dear Ms Anita,
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write to us.
Since its inception in 1983, the MCC has been knocking at doors, conducting press/media conferences, issuing public statements, meeting with the prime ministers and cabinet ministers, holding candlelight vigils, etc. All this on a shoestring budget and exercising prudence as well to ensure that we are not just looking for short term measures but more importantly longer term solutions.
Our last meeting with the PM was about four months back and since then we have also made public our Note of Protest as per attached. This was sent to the PM and cabinet ministers as well as many others in Malaysia and abroad.
As an NGO who has suffered the effects of lack of action by the authorities for several decades, we fully understand and appreciate the impatience Malaysians like you and The People’s Parliament. Indeed we value such public comments as they add leverage to the causes we stand for. We urge you to forward this reply to your colleagues and friends and yes, also The People’s Parliament. By doing so, you spread our message and help us to reach many others.
But you will agree that you cannot clap with just one hand. “It takes two to tango” as the saying goes.
We are exploring many avenues and speaking with the relevant quarters. We fully understand too that NATO (no action talk only) will not be effective. Indeed the things we are dealing with are easier said than done. Therefore we will not be pushed to say things we are doing prematurely.
Thank you for your concern and understanding. Please get others involved.
Warm regards,
Goh KP

Dear Mr Goh,
Thank you very much for your quick response to my letter and for enlightening me on what your organization has done so far.
Truly, we are at a crossroads in this nation and it is a NOW-OR-NEVER time for all who are concerned to act.
In the light of what you have sent to the authorities and the inaction on their part, I urge your organization to make a stand of solidarity with the rest of us. Please sign the petition you will find in Malaysia Today and urge as many as possible to do the same.
Please understand this is not arm-twisting. I cannot stress enough the urgency of the matter to get the Agong’s attention that our country is on a perilous road.
On my part, I will forward what you have written to ‘The People’s Parliament’. Â
You know, tyranny thrives when information is not shared and hence I am glad you have chosen to be more visible. The Government’s lack of response must necessitate , I feel, our voicing out in other avenues.
Best wishes as we work for a better Malaysia.

I think that the message is very clear.
The government will carry on doing what it likes, regardless.
You can take it or leave it.
