YB, We hope to hear from you soon.

Dear Tan Sri Nijhar,
My name is Michael Leow and I am a constituent of yours, under the area of Bukit Lanjan.
Haris Ibrahim has again raised a very pertinent issue which is close not only to my heart, but to the hearts of many, many Malaysians. From the
current hot issue of the “Lingam tapes” which apparently is a recording of a senior lawyer exerting undue influence over a highly placed judge to grossly unsettling advice from the CJ to some judges about using Islamic principles, I am convinced that the Judiciary in Malaysia needs to
be restored to the people.
There is a basic issue of the sanctity and independence of the Judiciary as one of the 3 pillars of Malaysian democracy. It should be an equal partner
to the Executive and the Legislature, but ever since 1988, there has been much which has happened which indicates that in practice, the Judiciary has lost its rightful standing.
Haris Ibrahim is pushing for a Royal Commission to look into this judicial mess. I support his call, and have signed the supporting petition.
As my MP, I need you to work on my behalf, and that of all the rakyat at the same time, to restore the judiciary to the rakyat.
I hope that you will confirm that you will.
Get to know more details about the petition here (and sign it!):

readers, go read an article written by an 18 year old ( http://www.quaintly.net) about this judiciary fiasco and you will in the instant sign the petition without fear.

This 18 yr girl article not only inspired me, it like a good movie. I read it about 6 times, everytime it put a smile on my face, she is articulate, expressive, love her style, really entertaining, hilarious most all it happen like she say. 86 comment it means bloggers are engaging! Kudos to her!
Her advice:
is there really nothing we can do to save the judiciary? of course there is. just keep talking about it over our lunch hours. keep blogging about it. join that Save The Judiciary group on facebook if you must. sign petitions. just keep talking and talking and talking, because that will pressure the hell out of them and ultimately force them to take some form of swift action……

Beachlover,
Far too many Malaysians are living within their own perceived ‘comfort zone’. With the high percentage of middle-income families in this country, most of them are somehow not suffering i.e. they are still able to put food on the table.
Furthermore, if we are looking at the so-called net-savvy folks, IMHO, the majority of the gripes and whines are from those who have a poor grasp on the concept of freedom of speech i.e. they think that by registering their woes on a blog or newsportal, they have done the needful for change to happen. In other words, they’ve failed to comprehend that there is connectivity between the real and virtual world.
Simply put, these concerned citizens are selfish in the guise of self-preservation. Don’t blame it as a product of our political system because your individual and/or collective fate is actually within your own grasp. Each and every vote counts, just as Haris is trying to cajole civil society to address pertinent issues by getting people to put up when it matters. A petition consisting of real names and supported by NRIC numbers provide legitimacy in the eyes of the petitioner and the recipient.
For those who have not signed up, I’d described them as ‘a worm’ (used by…..to lambast a so-called concerned citizen recently) who deservedly should be hooked up by the BN propaganda in more ways than one. They continue to keep alive the ‘fear factor’ and are unable to see the ‘tipping point’ that’s available. (You’d need to read David Sasaki’s take on this matter which is available at Screenshots).

Dear Haris,
If you can compile a list of MPs and their emails, phone numbers and addresses, we can all do the same for all our MPs. I am sure there will be more who would be interested to put their voice to their MPs and raise an aware civil society. With more awareness, the government will know that the Rakyat are serious about their demands and more and more are not sitting with TIDAK APA attitudes.
