Fairuz’s term as CJ ends on 31/10/2007.

He has requested an extension.

4,008 concerned citizens have signed a petition asking for the setting up of a Royal Commission to inquire into and investigate the veracity of what is depicted in the Lingam tape and, if confirmed to be true, to set into motion the necessary steps to remove Fairuz and to clean up the judiciary.

In these circumstances, in my view, Fairuz should properly have taken a leave of absence or have been suspended pending such an inquiry.

Instead, we are confronted with the audacious prospect of an extension of his term!

The Conference of Rulers meets next week.

The matter of the extension or otherwise of Fairuz’s term is almost certain to be on the agenda before their Royal Highnesses.

It is, in my view, important that the concerns of those who have bravely signed the petition be made known to the Conference of Rulers.

For that reason, I shall be making arrangements to have the petition and the list of signatories delivered to the palace on Thursday, 25th October, 2007.

If you have not signed the petition and would like to do so, you have until 12 noon tomorrow.

Have you read the petition to His Majesty the Yang DiPertuan Agung to ask for the establishment of a Royal Commission to look into and stop the rot in the judiciary and to return the judiciary to the rakyat?

The actual petition, complete with the language of protocol, can be viewed HERE.

Today i saw the lingam tape, wow that is a smoking gun the authorities is going about like the tail is wagging the dog! Power broker lingam says make him CJ and throw in a Tan Sri to go with it. i am wondering here is it a control thing, are we starting a caste system?,or a feel good thing so recipient feels like having feathers up their ass while walking like between floating & flying. In high society money talks more than the TRUTH,
these are high crimes one of them is undermining the constitution, fixing the RAT race, manupulating the system, cronism at it’s best….DO U THINK WE THE PEOPLE SUE THEM IN COURT?

  3. CMF Says:

CMF i think you are absolutely right. The only one that is about the Law is the Agong. After what we have seen and heard we need to cover the Rathole (loophole) by the time we are done with these conspirators most likely they will have both their eyes blacken! Yay! we nail that raccoon hole…..still a rat but bigger!

Come on guys just tip the number of signatures over 5000. It is now or never…I know we Malaysians wait for the last minute…don’t let Harris have the emotional and moral strenght that what he is doing is really for our King and country….(not the sly “we are working not for ourselves but for PM and country” Lingam sauce)

The Time is now..993 signatures to go over 5000 please..If millions of Ringgit worth of shares can be sold out in 45 minutes under the Amanah Nasional scheme what is getting 993 signatures.

My name and nric is among the 4008 people who have signed.I know they can punch in my IC number and get the full details of me. But don’t you see where our country heading and don’t you have the responsibilities to do something for it and for your children and children’s children.

It is 2am, 25th October – THE DAY.

I am unable to sleep because my mind can’t help remembering where we were and where we are today.

It goes back to the slow, disappointing trickle of signatures that began about a month or so ago.

It goes forward to Haris’s constant plea, reminder, urging, jolting that it is not his petition but ours, that it is a now-or-never time for this nation.

It dwells on Helen’s reflections and her brave disclosure of self.

It comes to rest on Haris’s announcement of 12 noon deadline yesterday and thereafter the remarkable leap after leap in numbers.

It has been a journey of self and beyond self – this collecting of signatures to save our judiciary.

Stepping out of the safety net of cyberspace and revealing one’s identity takes a measure of courage, given the culture of fear so pervasive in this nation. But that very act of doing something right is so very liberating.

Indeed, the darkest hour is gone and the dawn is here.

Thank you Haris, for the journey. I am not the same person I was when this petition began.

God speed you on your way. For King and country.

  8. HJ Angus Says:

    Thank You for this initiative.

Unfortunately too many are too scared or too indifferent to do anything for democracy.

    But do an Open House….
