I hear through the grapevine that as at midnight tonight, there’s a vacancy for the position of top dog in the judiciary.

Guess you can treat this as true if the mainstream media carry no news whatsoever tomorrow on whether someone got his extension or not. That would suggest a news blackout on a ‘no extension’.

May God continue to protect and bestow wisdom on our Rulers.

    DAULAT TUANKU!!

May wisdom prevail, but all thanks to Haris and the rest who has made this possible. Haris you are the beacon shining bright in the current darkness we are in, I am proud that I have been a signatory to the petition.

Proud of you and everyone who rose to the occasion to make the petition a reality.

    Haris,

I’d really like to know for sure that the petition to the Agung had SOME bearing in AF not getting an extension. But what the heck, we’re peasants, eh bro, hence, will not be privy to the intricacies of a Rulers’ conference.

Nevertheless, the decision by the Rulers to not extend AF’s tenure was an easy one to make, under the current circumstances, if we factor in the Lingamgate scandal.

Their next decision will require stronger nerves i.e. whether to promote AH, the court of appeal president, who got the job barely two months ago and is already close to the mandatory retirement age of 66.

Or will they assent to the appointment of ZA, the guy who made Malaysian legal history in ‘moonwalking’ from ordinary lawyer to the apex court without serving at the high court levels. ZA also has the ‘distinction’ of being given a clean bill of health by none other than the de facto law minister himself, NA. Now, isn’t that odd for an MP to provide an endorsement for a potential Chief Justice candidate at this juncture. Furthermore, ZA served on the UMNO disciplinary board at one time, therefore, can be viewed as an UMNO sympathizer. Besides that, can anyone recall of any UMNO big fish getting straightened out by their disciplinary board?

Perhaps, there are others being considered but there’s definitely more that can be done to clean up the judiciary before that good, shiny apple turns up.

To me, only one name fits. Go figure, folks.

    Priapism at work? You betcha.

    Thank you Tuanku.

Wait a minute! We didn’t sign for the CJ to resign that’s given due to his age. We sign up for a Royal Commission to investigate the lingam tape. Let’s not get ahead of ourself with high five & victory cry!

  11. Umran Says:

This is most welcome news! Even better is that the new CJ (albeit temporary) is someone credible.

I hope that the call for a Royal Commission to investigate the video does not fall by the wayside!
