Postpone the Hindraf rally
November 23, 2007
Someone who signed off as ‘A very worried citizen’ sent me the e-mail which is reproduced below.
I share the concerns articulated in the e-mail
________________________
Before you get put off by the heading which may prompt you to think I am some BN supporter, let me assure you I am not. I am however concerned about the planned rally by Hindraf this Sunday. Knowing how evil and corrupt our govt is, don’t let them use this rally or rather what may happen at the rally, to turn the tables on us. Do NOT play into the hands of this corrupt and ruthless govt by giving them ammunition to justify banning all future rallies.
The BERSIH rally was undoubtly a huge success to the people and the govt has its back against the wall. We need to keep the momentum and should not foul up by our short sightedness and underestimation of the ruthlessness of the enemy. The govt need to legitimize and find reasons to tell the world that Malaysians cannot have rallies as we are not mature or responsible enough.
By all indications, this Sundays rally will do just that i.e. give the govt the opportunity to create such havoc and then blame the organizers, thus giving the govt the upper hand. Just observe and think about what is happening. Police blocks from Thursday 22/11 to stop 10000 Indians from gathering? One would think they are trying to stop 500,000! Now they have even got a court order which prevents people from gathering. The govt is doing the ground work for what they have planned for this Sunday. With agent provocateurs, fights will break out with several being seriously injured and even lives lost. Remember the elites that are pulling the strings are a group of ruthless people who only care about their personal gains. To them the end justifies the means.
The road blocks besides wanting to create inconveniences for people, is also for them to say that they had done their part to keep out gangsters etc who will take the blame. They know it is hard for us to prove that they were those agents planted by the govt. After this all rallies will be violently and ruthlessly opposed and the Govt will justify what they do by quoting what happened at this Hindraf rally. For the greater good of the citizens, this rally must be at least postponed; otherwise I am afraid they are playing into the trap set by the govt.
I want to communicate this with the organizers of the Hindraf rally but don’t know how to get to them, but I am sure you will know them. I tried to do so through Malaysia-today but can’t seem to post a note.
I just pray that all of you in the forefront of this great move have considered all the pros and cons. The last thing you or the others should do is to underestimate the enemy, and believe me, this bunch you are up against will resort to anything, even a few lives.

10,000 Hindus into 50,000 or more!
Malaysia need you in the Right Place
at the Right time!!
IF I AM HINDRAF
=================
I will try to think
what Rally had done
and if Hindraf can make same thing done?
Rally on the walk
because someone as shield came to walk
A Royal & some MP came to the scene
without touching race but Royal.
What shield (Samy?) do you have to walk
and “against” a much bigger Royal!
Why Hindraf (or, others) be given a way?
Rally is for all
including Hindu.
Not necessary all your Rights
but at least a Rights to fight
in the GE with better light!
If you have 10,000 for the walk
take their poll to along side the Rally!
You will make 10,000 into 50,0000!
After that, let the 50,000
fight for Hindu
for the cultural Rights!
Let the last Rally starts the wisdom of all
to ask and press for Rights for all
Rally not to say all!
A court case is Right
if the ingredients are Right
if all concerned have the Rights!
The system is not right
and at least an Indian (or Hindu?) is not right!
Be precise!
All should care for all
and not Hindu for Hindu
or Chinese for Chinese!
It was dam not right!!
This is how Samy or OKT
was in the light
so that much have to be put to Right!
Fight for a Hindu Centre
it will give a much better light.
Get all Human Rights Right
before any bright topic a life!

Bro.Haris,
As much as I hate this but I must agree with you that our Hindu brothers must retreat and regroup for the next time. The UMNO regime is ruthless and they have all the running dogs to do the dirty work for them., Have you seen in the photo of Uthayakumar’s arrest, and who were the people doing the dirty job? Like what the Terminator would say; “I’ll be Back”

Human Rights Lawyer P. Uthayakumar arrested in his office this morning
view photos of his arrest at url below:

Yellow Fellas … how about a civil society vigil as ‘a protest in silence’ in support of our arrested brother !
Haris, you can reach HINDRAF @ 03 2282 5622 / 5241

I share similar sentiments to those voiced by A Very Concerned Citizen.

Bro. haris,
With no offence meant, I feel that HINDRAF should consider and reconsider and reconsider. I fear that the authorities will not take this rally lightly, for reasons everyone knows. Our Bersih March was a real success and we have achieved what we have sat out to achieve, yes, delivered what we have intended to deliver. Comparing the Bersih March and this coming rally, one can easily notice the vast difference. To my fellow malaysians in HINDRAF, let us not give “them” the opportunity to put harm on our fellow malaysians, with this strength of 10,000 to 50,000; we can cause a tremor, and if each and everyone of this 10K to 50K can convince just 1 or 2 other voters, it will not be a tremor anymore, it may even get rid of a few undesirable faces. The GE will not be too far away, “Patience works wonders”: we have been patient and the fruits of our patience is coming to bear.
Cheers fellow malaysians.

Dear Bro,
This is intimidation. The gov knows it and they are purposely doing it. They want the people to get riled up. To get angry. Angry people is not good. The rally should be called off.
I truly support HINDRAF. They are peacefull people. They have handed over memo-s before. They did not carry any sickles/weapons/AK 47s or burn down or damage anything.
They just want to be heard. They have over 50 letters to the PM – but no satisfactory reply. PM said he is everyones PM – then must be fair-lah. Dont be snake with forked tongue.
All they want to do – is hand over memo – after that go home.
How come MAIKA Holdings AGM got no police? How come when the rowdys who disrupted the IFC thingy in Penang and caused comotiion in Penang – police did nothing.
Come on lah – be fair.
Anyways – my humble plea – dear friends – please call of the rally. Like it or not – the gomen is going to cause chaos. I am very very sure. Why give chance for the gomen to call us trouble-makers.
Lets plan something else.
Why not rally on new years eve – surely the PM must be somewhere during the countdown – i am sure the police cannot stop us all from attending a function organised by the gomen for a countdown. Once we are there than we hand over a memo there.
How about that?
My Indian brothers, please heed this call.
Let us fight for justice for all, under the umbrella of Bangsa Malaysia.
One people, one nation.
November 23, 2007 at 11:31 pm
The rally is entirely a different scenerio as compared to Bersih’s rally. Its a single entity and can be assured the police will go all out to disrupt it. The police want to redeem their image, why give them an opportunity. As devilsadvocate said do it under the umbrella of Bangsa Malaysia.
They should call it off.

I agree with ‘A very worried citizen’. I’ve been thinking the same too. I am very sure they will stir some trouble and that will give them a reason to turn the tables and say ’see, we told you there’ll be violence etc’. Much as we want to be bold and strong and stand for our rights, it is also wise to stand back and reconsider. Postponing it would be the best for now.

Bros,
Just got a new idea.
Please ponder over it.
Propose that all the Indians and non-indians in town congregate at Batu Caves. It is place of worship and also tourist spot – I am sure they would not arrest us or stop us from going there.
So we actually won – because
(a) we show the gomen – that if we call a big crowd – they will come
(b) the gomen got no chance to create trouble and call us trouble makers.
Please -please think rationally.
We want to win.
We want to show the gomen – that we out smarted them.
Lets do it – when they least expect it.
Lets catch them in their own game.
Peace bro.

Dear Bros,
Just pass by Kesas Highway near UK, The FRU has chase them from Jln Ampang / KLCC. I can see the face the people with sad and scary look. Even i herad this morning the FRU lock Batu Caves temple main gate and pump tear gas so that, no one can go out to the rally.
Wat hell is happing in this country. The last thing the can do is shoot the crowd if the can.
Felt vey ad and pls. ” You muct a idiot to vote for BN” .

dear all,
eventhough i was nt in the rally, but as 1 of the resident in this country i can feel the pain when the community is not given the human rights. The government says tht the public can speak out their rights & they have not stop any1 by standing in the election. Is this all true as what they are saying?Even they are mentioning tht is not racial problem… of course not they dont know..but i bet you all this will be a big issue in this country. At last 1 thing, all of us should remember we have achieved our independence through this 3 races leaders. If not because of the teamwork & united , we won’t be living so freely as now.
