UPDATE :

Kaki Ayam asked :

Why limit this to KLCC? Not everyone will feel like going to KL on a public holiday…

Why don’t we have it simultaneously at different locations?

keke…this should be fun…i shall do my part at The Curve…keke

Me thinks that’s a great idea.

If newspaper dumping takes place anywhere else, how about taking pictures and sending them in with a brief note to share with others?

FLASH MOB AGAINST SPIN-DOCTORING

Venue : Main Concourse, Suria KLCC, KL
Date: 1 Jan 2008 (Public Holiday)
Time: 3pm

What to do:

1. Go to Suria KLCC Main Concourse on 1 Jan 2008 at 3pm.

2. Bring a copy of local newspaper; it can be The Star, NST, Metro, Malay Mail, Utusan Melayu, Berita Harian, Sin Chew Jit Poh, Nanyang Siang Pow, or any Tamil dailies.

3. At 3.30pm sharp, crumple the newspapers and throw them inside the rubbish bins.

4. Disperse IMMEDIATELY

NOTE: DO NOT LITTER. If the rubbish bins are full, stack your newspapers on top of the pile. If you can’t do that, find other rubbish bins at 1st Floor or other floors.

The ultimate goal is to dump the newspapers collectively as a sign of protest!!

Is that true or was it just a suggestion? If there is such an event then I will come!

    Kean,

Postings on the 2 blogs seems to indicate it is a planned event.

  4. Mr Bojangles Says:

The Case of the Missing Rubbish Bins

Don’t be surprised that in a burst of brilliant thinking, a strategic plan will be conceived in the usually empty space between big ear’s ears, to direct his operatives to encourage KLCC management to remove all rubbish bins in and around KLCC. This magnificent move on the part of our thinkers and movers in the ruling junta, will decisively thwart you forces of evil bent on destroying the country’s good name and reputation. And KLCC management, being dutiful and obedient servants of the powers that be, will oblige.

That brilliant stroke of genius could also create another item for entry into the Malaysia Book of Records…the mystery of the missing bins at the foot of the worlds most iconic monuments.

But seriously speaking, even rubbish bins are too good for these trashy papers; perhaps IWK’s sewerage treatment plants would be a better bet.

Yong is right. Dump ‘old’ MSM issues. And if you happen to be a long-time non-subscriber, get one from your relative, friend, neighbor, (Sun?), etc.

Missing bins, Mr Bojangles? Could well be a possibility with the ‘Semua Bolih’ administration. But there could be a counter-move by the ‘old paper’ collectors to provide their bins for such a ‘wet dream’ event. Appropriately named, of course. Like the ‘B.Buruk’, ‘Penguin’, ‘10-Eleven’, ‘Hindraf’, ‘Freedom Walk’ and ‘Peoples Solidarity’.

Anywayz, let’s not discount an AP dumping a paper with a lighted cigarette included. Now that would have a nasty effect. Unless someone records the event on video to deter this and/or provide evidence of mischief. Get my drift, folks.

Went there, had kickass fun stuffing papers, then ran off. Dunno why people stuck around, the idea is to disperse immediately. Well, it’s not like anyone can arrest us for throwing newspapers at the same time in a single place can they? lolz.
