I had written to the SPR, Perak office in November on the alarming increase in the number of registered and postal voters in Ipoh Timor as reported by Malaysiakini. You can read about that letter HERE .
Just received their reply yesterday.
I have reproduced the substance of the reply below.

Berhuhung dengan perkara-perkara yang dibangkitkan dalam surat tuan bertarikh 12.11.2007, dimaklumkan bahawa dakwaan-dakwaan yang dibangkitkan dalam Laporan Media Malaysiakini adalah tidak tepat.
Berdasarkan rekod di pejabat ini, maklumat berkenaan pemillh di Parlimen Ipoh Timor adalah seperti berikut:
Perbezaan Bilangan Pemilih Pos
Pemilih Pos Pilihan Raya 2004 : 1,101
Pemilih Pos sehingga Suku Ke 2/2007 : 2.125
Perbezaan : 1,024
Perbezaan Bilangan Pemilih Berdaftar
Jumlah Pemilih Pilihan Raya 2004 : 73,329
Jumlah Pemuih sehingga Suku Ke 2/2007 : 74,918
Perbezaan : 1,589
Jumlah Pemilih Pos Keseluruhan di Parlimen Ipoh Timor sehingga Suku Ke-2/2007 adalah 2,125.

I just blogged about this here.
My concerns are still the same, why the big increase in postal votes relative to the increase in normal votes.
And as ‘an old friend’ says, why only up to the 2nd quarter when the news was announced in October?

SPR should tell us how many votes they quietly removed from Gopeng constituency and put them in Ipoh Timur.
