Brilliant shots, Nanda.
Each photo tells its own story, corroborating your narrative in the earlier post.
Pics no: 5 and 6, in particular, encapsulates the possibilities of positive and negative perception of an event, depending on how it was presented.
And the ’shadows’ depict a noon occurrence.
Pictures don’t lie but in the hands of a spin-meister, one can never tell.
Thank you for the honesty (and the courage of having the gall to speak with the FRU guyz whilst wearing a 10-Eleven t-shirt!).

U know they will deny any pictorial evidence? Thats why the star didnt seem to publish any pix of the thaipusam, or just close ups (seems like a crowd there ehhe).

in the face of irrefutable evidence, samy still say a million celebrated thaipusam in batu caves. guy just can’t count. yes a million indians celebrated thaipusam, but not in batu caves. sorry samy, you are b…s..ing again!

not too surprising. otherwise, how can you explain the phenomenon growth of devotees in other temples. the boycott call has major effects, whichever way ones to see it, except for SAMY THE DENIAL.

Anyone with last year’s photos of the crowd at Bt Caves?
Maybe we can put them together to let ppl see the difference between last year’s crowd and this year’s crowd.

Many thanks Nanda for the pictorial evidences.Semi Value can say and think what he wants…..but the writing is on the wall.The Thaipusam boycott is the 3rd slap that he has recieved thus far following his return from India.The call has had its effect and even a downfall of 200k devotees can be seen as “mission accomplished”.
Now it is time to raid the accounts of the temple and see where the funds have been channeled to thus far. It has been said that close to RM5.5 million is collected every Thaipusam.Given the spending power of the Indians these past 20 years….a healthy sum of close to 100 million should be seen in the account books.What portion of the funds goes for education and how many have graduated via these funds must be made transparent.
Me gut feeling says…..Semi’s dirty fingers is a sure dig in the temple coffers!!!!!
MIC and Semi are fast becoming like Nona for most Malaysian Indians.

I was told that there were about half the crowd size compared to last year. But from the photos, it looks like less than 10% of last year’s crowd. No wonder there were so much left over at the food stalls.

Someone suggested that the photo on the Star Newspapers was a file pix. Anyone has any clue? It was mentioned about the string of blue lights which were not part of the decor of 2008. Anyone can confirm this? Also we were watching the news footage, which seemed to show a decent crowd. However, this is in stark contrast to what we saw on TV that night itself.

Hi Indian Friends,
Thank You for boycott Thaipusam at Batu caves this year,because its a big shame for Mic leader samy velu.
My indians friends please show the power of india on the coming election to MIC and Barisan, because they think they will get 100% indians votes, make sure we break samy vellu’s nose.
He keep on telling to media that he will get 100% our votes, he says don’t worry to Pak Lah we will win.But we make sure they will losse, so indians friends be together and think before you do your voting think for our future and think our HINDRAF HEROS IN ISA, be smart we are not stupid has barisan & mic think.
