Sure, Ole Big Ears seems to have trimmed off a whole lot of useless fat from his last cabinet.

Pro-Najib fat, it would seem.

And he’s merged several ministries, presumably to allow for this fat-reduction move.

But merge National Unity with Culture, Arts & Heritage?

Does not national unity, after 38 divisive years of BN rule, merit its own ministry?

    Dear Haris,

The biggest blunder Abdullah made is to appoint Muhamadx2 as
    minister.
Didn’t this guy said ‘ no understand inglik ‘ in his defense for smuggling millions in his suitcase in Australia ?

Seriously does anybody believes that anyone will carry millions of dollars to buy a house ?

hi haris, our umno so called leaders wont change due to their pyramid scheme of fleecing our tax payer and our natural resouces.bn have to keep on manipulate by telling lies to us.like ass set to be declare.new faces with young youthfull faces.just look into sabah and sarawak, they delivered the votes to bn but in the end how many of them appointed to the cabinet.BN LIKE A DANCER WITH CRYING WOLF.THEY WILL KEEP ALL THE POST FOR THEMSELF TO ENRICH THEM AND CRONIES.ANYWAY R U GOING TO THE STAR TALK? THANKS.RAJ RAMAN.RACE;MALAYSIAN.RELIGION;MY OWN CHOICE AND MY RIGHTS.DREAMING TO BE PURE BRED MALAYSIAN PUTERA.

To regain voters’ trust, BN under Badawi must be seen to act against corruption and racialist politics without fear and favour. Government services must be friendly and efficient. Policies must be formulated and implemented across racial lines. Any party seen working in favour of only one community is out of date and against national interest. How can you wield a kris for the Malay rights at Umno assembly and come out to tell the other races not to worry? Can they trust you?

  4. LoveMalaysiaRakyat Says:

PM should have better sense. Looks like what people say about him is true. To put MMT into Rural and Regional Development is like getting a sick cow to produce milk…after all he doesn’t understand English right? Since he is totally oblivious to what he is carrying around in his brief-case, can he be trusted to lead? He needs to be lead. This is the case of the blind leading the blind: here it is one moron in leadership putting another as his partner.
But of course Pak Lah is not, he has to balance and put distance between him, Najib, Hisham and Muhy. Good chess game. Clever move eh?

And why in the world should someone “oversee” another? Ng Yen Yen can do it. Come one, she has good stock, see her family of profs. Let her do her work and get our Lady of Shah. out. I know she did a lot of good work but this is ridiculous and Pak Lah is sending out signals that he doesn’t trust his cabinet…what’s wrong with a Chinese lady in charge…what was wrong with a Malay lady in charge, see Lady Raf.? She could hold her own with the men, it is just oure gender discrimination and also pure UM NOism.

  5. Poor Najib…

He must have been devastated to see the empire that he had built for so many years crumbled right in front of his eyes.

  6. bayi Says:

I agree. Mohdx2 stands out like a sore thumb.

And the “Bodoh. Bodoh. Bodoh.” minister too. To have him in the cabinet is like endorsing his previous actions. This I can swallow better than Mohdx2 because the latter is tainted in many ways beyond reform.

And of course, paying lip service to unity is not walking the talk until there is evidence that this is a critical area to be tackled. What better than to have a top notch minister helming the ministry? Instead of a merged entity.

Everyone knows that Najib is playing it safe and patiently bidding his time. The loser is is, the rakyat. We are positioned between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Looks like we had better learn how to swim. The onus in on us. We had better learn fast.

  7. Paul Warren Says:

It would seem like the cabinet appointments have raised a lot more turbulence within UMNO thanthe selection of candidates to contest the elections.

It is interesting to note some fo the comments:

To Mukhriz ; The loss of the two-thirds majority apparently has made meaningless his victory on his first election outing. So what is he going to do about it?

Khir Toyo: Quits his party positions after Cabinet posts are announced. The situation for him pre and post announcement of cabinet appointment remains the same. So why give all these resignations only after the announcement? Pissed off with Badawi? Sure why not, Khir, at least not as bad a reputation as Mohammad x 2 Taib.

Datuk Anifah Aman: Declines Deputy Ministers’ appointment. So he is pissed off for not getting promotion to full Ministership.

Rafidah Aziz: Hell hath seen no fury like a woman scorned. So she finally admits, all this talk of serving the people and constituents is just so so la…What is the point of being MP if not Minister, right? If only Badawi told her, she’d been a happy grandmother. Now she collect slary and still, after maybe the first session of swearing in and so on, she will not appear in parliament.

Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad: Resigned as Barisan Nasional and Umno secretary-general with immediate effect, saying he would not be able to work effectively without a Cabinet post. Now, now, now, Radzi, are you admitting to collecting Ministerial or whatever salary only so that you can perform as BN and UMNO sec-gen? What has your government position got to do with UMNO or BN work?? Nevermind la, even though by your own admission you have corruptly used government resources to serve the private interest of UMNO and BN, we know the most ineffective ACA will not do anything to you. Or Attorney General for that matter. Oh, happy retirement anyway.

Razaleigh: He wants to contest for UMNO presidency..asking for UMNO EGM bla, bla, bla. Supposedly following traditions and UMNO/Malay customs. So UMO is representative of Malay custom is it?

  8. RAJ RAMAN Says:

lets bygone be bygone.but dont allows the corrupted fews make a comeback in our political scene.please do think forward and gave our energy and little time for our new goverment.allow this new state goverment to perform.lets keep watch this new yb like a hawk.make them perform.later parts when this new goverment perform,we do the witch hunt of all the cronies of bn.justify and proof the former mp,yb and bn cronies have swindle us.do it by law.meanwhile help our new goverment in waiting to perform.bloggers can be the hawk to protect the citizen.thanks.raj raman.race.malaysian.dreaming to be malaysian putra.religion.my rights my problem with god. 9. Awangngah Says:

Many of us are still arguing & wondering why Dollah did this and why he did that, why he choose this person and not that, etc. What’s the point of debating on this issue?

Hasn’t he portrayed enough that he is selfish? The reason he did what he did is to protect himself. At this juncture he needs to be surrounded by those he feels are strong supporters. Do you think he cares for anything else other than trying to make sure he stays in power, even at the expense of the party?

  10. SV Singam Says:

    The plot sickens.

As Abdullah Bodowi persistss with blunder after blunder, he contributes more and more towards the success of BR.

    Hooray for Pak Lah!

  11. wayan562 Says:

Dear Haris, it seems that your heart has been blinded by hatred that everything that the BN government does is sure to be bad. Mind you,I too dislikes those who is corrupted but not all that they have done are bad or useless. You guys are getting cocky by the days and one day it will get to your head. Tell me what is the difference between you and them?
    Cheers.

  12. WeeWee Says:

Datuk (?) Dr (?) Wee Ka Siong – deputy education minister ?

So easy these days to get a Datukship isn’t – only after a one term MP

Where did he get his PHD – of ya…UTM, Skudai…no wonder – cannot even write a proper letter in English – wah…some education ministerlah!!!

Not to mention lots of hanky panky too….

  13. J K Says:

Hmmmmmmm… this is an interesting theory! Make the advantage tip in BR’s favour…! Wonder if that is true…

Oh well, even if it is done unintentionally, I must say Bodowi is doing a great job, having included Mike Tyson, Loud Mouth Nazri and Kerismuddin in the new line up. 3 cheers for Bodowi!

  14. Gan Says:

Guys, I know alot of you are not buying papers.

Just to share some extracts of Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye’s letter which was published in The Star on 20Mar2008.

    1. Title “Downsizing Cabinet the correct move”.
    2. It is a step in the right direction ….
    3. The inclusion of a sizeable number of new faces is essential in order to inject new ideas and innovation ….
    4. The requirement for ministers and deputy ministers to declare their assets publicly is a step in the right direction.

Sounds like “bodek-ing” words to me lah …

  15. Pegasus Says:

Bodowi will be remembered as the worst PM , Malaysia ever had. This man makes blunder after blunder due to his own effort or those around him, ill-advising him in running the country.Probably, his son-above the law has misread the Rakyat’s needs. Appointing MMT is a big mistake, only in Malaysia ,this would happen, in any other country world wide, you do not see a ex-tainted Minister being appointed again to the cabinet. This is the beginning of the downfall of Paklah within UMNO itself .Nazri is a stupid ass who speaks without thinking, this fellow will keep us entertain for awhile, wrong choice again by Bodowi. However, he did the right thing in dropping Queen Rafidah though too late, should not have chosen her as a candidate for the 12GE.The GE is not over yet, if there are 30 seats from BN which
could go over to the Opposition party, DAP-PKR-PAS could still form the goverment.Hopefully, we can get 30 seats from Sabah and Sarawak as they were not rewarded with much post at federal level. So, there is still hope left .
