In the first ‘How many kids must die?’ post, Murali shared with us his concerns, firstly, about an incident he witnessed which left him concerned about whether a young child was being abused by his father, and then the seeming inattentiveness by the relevant authorities to whom he had taken his concerns.
Murali had taken the trouble to check the registration details of the motor vehicle driven by the ‘father’ and forwarded these details together with details of the incident he had witnessed to the Welfare Dept.
Nothing happened.
After futile efforts to get the Welfare Dept moving, Murali sent a complaint to the Public Complaints Bureau.
Again, nothing happened.
Yesterday, I received the following e-mail from Murali.
‘Attached is a letter from the bureau. I am pleased that some action has been taken by the welfare
department. I am grateful to the Peoples Parliament for posting my letter. Had it not been for the posting I doubt if any action would have been taken at all’.
The letter from the Public Complaints Bureau confirms that the Welfare Dept has in fact investigated the complaint from Murali, including finally meeting up with the ‘father’ and ruling out child abuse.
As the letter from the Bureau bears details of the persons who were investigated, Murali and I have agreed that it should not be made public.
For me, Murali epitomises what it is to be an anak Bangsa Malaysia.
He saw something that he thought was wrong. He intervened. He pursued it with the authorities. He was relentless in pursuing what he thought needed to be set right.
He did not take a ‘do not get involved, none of our business’ attitude.
Murali, walk tall, man!

If the government find words/comments/complaints too much of a bother to read, just send them this cartoon. No need to read, just see.

Thanks and congrats Murali. Love ur way!
To bro Haris Ibrahim,
We met at Nilai R&R few day b4 08.03.08 for the
Pakatan Rakyat’s posters when you were on your
way to rembau.
Haris, Please give way to your readers to read this:
UMNO.

Murali,
As I understand it, being Anak Bangsa Malaysia goes beyond transcending the race barrier. It is also about caring, about being willing to take that extra step or walk that extra mile in order to make this place better for everyone.
You are a great role model. We are all proud of you.

Even tiger would not harm its own cubs, what more about fellow human beings.
It goes to show the quality of education that we have in this country over the last 50 years. Mostly, we see exams, exams and more exams.
Attitude of a society takes generation to form. It is not late, we can start now, better late than never.

Mr.Murali, I salute you for being caring to bring this matter up front while some people will choose to ignore it. Action speak louder than words.KeranaMu,Saya Bangga menjadi ANAK MALAYSIA !

You know what the sad part is?
The track record of the Welfare Dept does not give me much confidence on their investigation, nor do I trust the “result” which claims there was no child abuse.

Congratulation to Murali, you got a fullstops to you complaint!
—————————————————–
If not because of Haris, will you get the reply?
How many visits or trials?
How many offices and officers you had complaint before going to IBU?
You have post a question, if the kid was being abused.
But, you have exposed the “pass the bucket” phenomenon of the Administration!
A good reason that why IBU should be there.
But, they are also bucket passer!
Do we have to feel jolly as finally an inquiry being responded?
Or, we have to feel sorry that Discipline and independency of offices are not there
but depending if they are kicked and kicked hard
and kicked hard only by someone who is influential!
Thinking of an housing case with repeated visits to various department within land offices (State & Local),
various departments of Housing,
various departments of Land & Mines Ministry,
various departments of MPPJ
various departments of MPSJ
IBU
ACA
and many more!
Many Many lawyers been consulted
but who cares?
for more than 5 years!
It is still hanging in the air!
Murali is not the ONLY one WHO dare to speak!
But, he is one who had also get the voice of Haris!
IF THE “PASSING THE BUCKET PHENOMENON” IS NOT EFFECTIVELY STOPPED, A MILLION Murali, is only a million buckets more!
An excuse to get various types of IBU to give words of comforts to give it a fullstops!
Will Welfare Department or other Government office work as they should after the events?
IF TRANSPARENCY OF PROCEDURES & JOBS AND RESPONSIBILITIES, CODE OF PRACTICE IS NOT THERE, THE BUCKETING WILL STILL CONTINUE AS A MERRY-GO-ROUND!
Will anyone accept that
1. The Court is in no obligation to reply to queries?
2. The court has no obligation to press for the Progress Report of Lawyer when he failed to act for the clients for one whole year in jobs and to court?
