PROTES rally update
July 6, 2008
Got the following sms updates from a blogger friend who’s presently at the Kelana Jaya stadium.
5.47pm – Hardly a thousand people at the stadium now
7.10pm – Chaos. Spectators attacked rock band. ( Read more about this on Malaysia Today HERE ).
7.24pm – Under control now. A haji guy singing religious hymns to calm the crowd. For the non-Muslims it seems like a PAS event.
I’m off to my Nam Lai Tai Suan ( garden with rivers with flowing ) where the internet service is unpredictable so no more updates on the rally from this blog.
Goodnight world.

And all it takes to immobilise the PAS guys is to have a rock concert!!
Hey, all that I have been longing for is to attend a Deep Purple Live concert while I can still shake my hips. And I also want PR to take over the government!
Why are these PAS guys making it so difficult for me?
So my question to PAS is quite simply this. nothing hypothetical about it. Will they allow a Deep Purple concert?

It is not what may be considered as PAS intolerence of rock bands.
Apparently the lead singer of the band pulled down his pants and showed his backside during his performance.
That stupid stunt, and possibly the lyrics of the song being sung ["Liwat" according to a report] was what enraged the audience.

Okay I have to say it.
I don’t know about you guys, but I thought the whole thing was a big disappointment. The stadium was nowhere near full any time of day. Way less than 15k, and don’t even dream about a million, and I’m pretty sure there were times when there were more organizers than there were attendees. Heck, there were far more people in One Utama! I was hoping to hear someone present an actual solution to the fuel problem, or at least a people’s manifesto, but it was mostly blaming, finger-pointing, with thinly veiled political protests. I certainly didn’t spend an hour in Sunday traffic, WASTING EXPENSIVE FUEL to hear who’s to blame or to support any party. I already know who I’ll be blaming or supporting. I went there to be part of a voice – but today it was more political chatter than a voice, and I’d be fantasizing if I thought anyone was listening. Man, what a waste… I probably should have stayed in One Utama.

I went to the rally until 3:30pm and the rock bands is SS (Syok Sendiri)….lol.

what a fizzer!! I don’t think PKR are capable of delivering a govt change.
To be Brutally honest PKR couldn’t find sand during a sandstorm. your leaders are not true leaders – all talk and dreams but not true vision and strategic action.
I am not pro BN or anti PKR but this I say – PKR Leadership lacks correct and timely placed action!! time for you guys to as we say “pack up n balik kampung” to day was EMBARRASINGN!!!

Protes, please keep on rocking against the wrongdoings of the BN, now the tryant BN is shaking and running scared. In the past 50 years of independence, the rascal BN have done so much harm to Malaysians and virtually raped the nation. Peace & development will only come to nation if those BN traitors are totally removed. God bless!

A rock band?
What is the purpose of having a rock band in a stadium when the purpose is to protest on the fuel hike?
Isn’t this also a protest about the mismanagement of BN? The corrupt judiciary? The corrupt IGP? The corrupt Police? The corrupt MPs?
Is a rock band and a “carnival like” atmosphere appropriate?
I am puzzled since the night before, on Saturday night, at Seberang Jaya/Permatang Pauh, Pulau Pinang, Pakatan Rakyat organized what I would consider a highly successful ceramah, with 15,000 people attending despite the low key promotion. No rock band. No air conditioning. No free drinks. No food. See my take here – http://fusioninvestor.blogspot.com/2008/07/peoples-leader-personal-experience.html
How is it that one can be so successful, and the other apparently a flop?
Are we saying the BERSIH rally is much more successful than the present Fuel-Hike rally?

Maybe PKR should just leave it to the pros……the DAP….
July 7, 2008 at 1:08 am
Bersih rally was a more successful thanks to PAS supporters and Unit Amal… but this protes one.. is not a protes.. but more like a jomprotes (like a TV3 jomheboh)… PAS was right to object the rock band as the 7′oclock band had insulted the PRK supporters and nearly got kena pukul… hahahah tu la.. nak sangat Punk band.. hahhaha PAS was right from the beginning….

the singer is a plain stupid to show his ass [okay, he still have his boxer on] to the public… a real stupid stunt considering the audiences… he can if he was in a gig for their kind… but not at a protest like this…
then, you said,
7.24pm – Under control now. A haji guy singing religious hymns to calm the crowd. For the non-Muslims it seems like a PAS event.
it’s maghrib time dude… what else did you expect then??

Whitelight:
I think if you have to choose BN or PR, which one will you choose?
Ok, PR at this stage still is not perfect. But would u like BN to continue to plunder with impunity and treat the rakyat like scum?
You choose la which one is preferable.
PR

PR or its cosponsor invited a rock band to the rally, who then londeh his pants and showed to the whole stadium his punggung. Now what does that mean to the PR? That sodomy or back side humping is ok? That PR supports back side humping since they invited the singer? BSH is normal within PR? That …etcetc….

Najib says “Najib calls anti-oil hike rally a failure” according to Malaysiakini today.
He might be right. He looks at what was originally hoped for by the organisers and sees the numbers who turned up despite all the threats of arrest, police intimidation, no permits, road blocks and whatever.
By the same reckoning I suppose he is also saying that success means a rally like the Bersih Rally on Nov 10 and the HINDRAF rally. Those going by Najib’s measures, I am sure he will agree, are real successes.
So next time organsiers make sure you achieve Najib’s measures o.k.!
