BN, the Indian Ocean beckons!
August 25, 2008

Man, did RPK kick ass at the ceramah at Sembilang last night!
I think what must have really pissed him off was when he was told by one of the ceramah organisers that technically he could not speak as he was not covered by the police permit issued for the ceramah.

He reminded the crowd of about 2,000-2,500 ( and the police ) that his grandfather, Raja Sir Tun Uda, was once the governor of Penang.
“This is my grandfather’s state”, he roared to the loud approval of the crowd.
He reminded the crowd that we would not have achieved independence from the British if the UMNO leaders were not allowed to travel the length and breadth of the country to spread the spirit and message of ‘Merdeka’.
“The Constitution guarantees us the right of speech and expression”.
No concerns of a lack of a permit was going to stop this anak Bangsa Malaysia tonight.
“Is this the government that we now have after we got rid of the British? If so, I would rather have the British back”.
RPK was on fire.
He reminded the crowd that this was not a by-election to enable them to choose a representative in Parliament.
“26 million Malaysians have placed the solemn responsibility on 58,000 registered voters of Permatang Pauh to save this country from total ruin. You will decide if after 26th August, we will be sending a new Prime Minister to Putrajaya. You will decide if after 26th August, we are one step away from a new Pakatan Rakyat federal government, or whether future generations must continue to suffer under the BN rule. “
“You, the voters of Permatang Pauh, have the power to send BN into the Indian Ocean on the other side of Penang. Send UMNO, MCA, Gerakan, MIC, PPP and all the BN components to hell!”
The crowd loved him.
Before I leave you with a pictorial of RPK interacting with the crowd at Sembilang, I ask you to note this poster
displayed at the same ceramah and ask you to ponder on this question :
Until these men and more than 70 others are freed from Kamunting, can we in all good conscience find a reason to celebrate Merdeka this 31st August?

August 25, 2008 at 2:16 pm
Hey RPK, do not overcook it. You are going great guns and anyone else would have thought you’d make a better candidate than Anwar himself! Two great orators indeed. Keep on slungin’ until we see the last of Barisan. Oops, I mean UMNO.
August 25, 2008 at 2:22 pm
In response to your question, my answer is a resounding NO!
Unless, of course, the 70-odd people in Kamunting can be “Merdeka”-ed. I will celebrate Merdeka only when all the people from all walks of life in Malaysia are merdeka. And it doesn’t even have to be 31st August.
su,
That’s two of us. Gan is with me and he, too says no, as does Zorro.
What about the rest of you out there?
August 25, 2008 at 2:32 pm
Dear Haris ,
I have received reliable news of corruptions in the immigration dept.
A relative of mine whose workers need i-kad have encounter the following ordeal. Last Sat, 23th Aug they went to a shop in Bukit Nanas ,KL to get their i-kad. 6 Immigration officers were there processing everythings and the foreigners who were getting it through them were to pay rm150 each. The officers will rent a shop for 1 or 2 days and move on to another location in KL every now and then. The foreigners came to know about their location of the shops through their own agents who help them getting permits and other procedures. My relative was told that the workers received no receipts on the payment of rm150 and the $$$ probably enter the wrong pockets. About hundreds of foreigners will be lining up for their things to be done. So the outcome of $$$ is imaginable.
I do not know the accuracy of this news but it’s just some information. I trust those workers as i don’t see how our govt personnels can be clean afterall we can see corruptions in every dept.
August 25, 2008 at 2:41 pm
Hello bro,
What a waste as I missed the ceramah’s you folsk attended last night (apart from the one in Padang Ibu where we meet up)… Anyway, let me know what’s cooking today and I’ll pop by.
Cheers.
August 25, 2008 at 3:04 pm
NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 25, 2008 at 3:13 pm
I stand by Su and your good self. How can we even think “merdeka” with so many languishing in Kamunting. Utter cruelty!!! Is there no Human Rights in Malaysia? I hope abolishing ISA will be a priority under a new government.
August 25, 2008 at 3:29 pm
Until these men and more than 70 others are freed from Kamunting, can we in all good conscience find a reason to celebrate Merdeka this 31st August?
——————————————-

Every Vote For ANWAR serves not only Permatang Pauh but MALAYSIA.
OUR MALAYSIAN MALAYSIA.
Time to send BN packing but expect more missing files too.
August 25, 2008 at 3:38 pm
Haris
Your question is met with a resounding “No” from this “Down Under” scribe. There should be an open court to put these human rights abusers on trial like a Nuremberg of sorts.
I can’t wait for the day to arrive when it is true Merdeka for all of us as Tunku Abdul Rahman (our first Bapa Malaysia) envisaged it. Anwar can be Bapa II
August 25, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Dear Haris
Thank God for you and some bloggers being such darlings to keep us post us “live” updates from PP. We are all very excited to tune in to tomorrow night’s PP results. Yessss, PP is just the beginning.

(sorry argh translation is to the nearest point of understanding)
O, South China Sea, after this got speech argh?
August 25, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Agreed, the ISA is unconscionable ! Free them or charge them!
To take it one step further, also applies to every one who is under remand pending their cases heard, maybe they cannot afford bail, maybe its not bail-able but how can these people be held in jail
Just imagine!!! They could be found not guilty but some would have ’served’ jail time, 5 years? 6 years? 7 years?
isnt this just as bad as ISA?
August 25, 2008 at 4:03 pm
You said: ‘Until these men and more than 70 others are freed from Kamunting, can we in all good conscience find a reason to celebrate Merdeka this 31st August?’
My answer: No.
I hope each voter in Permatang Pauh understands that he or she holds our future in their hands, and their vote!

Dear Haris
With Merdeka Day a week away, thanks for reminding us that it is meaningless to celebrate when we still have these innocent men languishing away in Kamunting. No,for me and my family,it will be another ordinary day!
RPK is right. It is better under the British than under this evil and corrupted regime. At least our education system, our police force, our judiciary and our basic freedom will not suffered as they are now.
The Indian Ocean? No,that will be too kind to them. There is no place for them except HELL!!

RPK n HARIS my my HERO… wish im ther wit u all…GOD BLESS U ALL…
August 25, 2008 at 4:59 pm
You are absolutely right. After 50+ years of Independence, there is actually no reason to celebrate. This country is not very much different from a banana after 50+ years of UMNO/BN rule.
August 25, 2008 at 5:17 pm
Merdeka?
What merdeka?
We’ve been under the yoke of neo-colonialist pirates for 50 yrs, who go by the name of BN.
We’re now engaged in a struggle for independence from these pirates, who have managed to dupe the people under the one party system and “Asian Values”.
I’m still hoping for Merdeka under PR, come Sept. 16!
August 25, 2008 at 5:21 pm
Just to refresh what happened in the President of RI election in Kalimantan Barat Indonesia polling station.. I was there, the turn out was small. The total count of voters was 3 times more than the turn out. The phantom voters were active in that election. I will suggest that PKR set up head counting in all polling stations. This will deter the phantom voters from taking place.
To PKR and DSAI ALL OF MALAYSIAN AND INDONESIAN FRIENDS PRAY THAT THE ROAD TO PUTRAJAYA WILL BE A REALITY. GOD BLESS
THE NATION .
August 25, 2008 at 5:28 pm
how come so many of you don’t have to work-ah???? Sigh… see….. I wish YB Khalid gives us selangor folks a public holiday oso. Must ask permission again from Fed Ex-ah???? Sigh…again…. i’m very happy to see so many ordinary folks have an affinity with rpk, etc… it does something to your soul. i wish the bn politicians can have such genuine close rapport with ordinary folks, too, genuinely and not just a fake fascade!!!
August 25, 2008 at 5:30 pm
Whenever I think of this coming 31st, my heart bleeds…….there’s def no mood to celebrate as far asn myself and my family are concerned…….

August 25, 2008 at 5:54 pm
Great work RPK. We all ove u.
The other day, this sleepy, flipflop guy just try to show the rakyat that he is a caring type appearing on LRT/KTM etc… areas. Too late la. What I can say about this guy is “I COME, I SEE AND I Sleeeeepzzzzz”.”
After the Permatang by-election, he would have forgotten that he has travelled on LRT/KTM etc…. End result, back to square one, forgotten and no action taken since 2004.
Now another amazing thing has happend to these BN guys, ‘”swearing” fever. Seems that everyone gone into this fever. We have Sai the FOOL, DPM and now former MB of Perak swearing like nobody business. They even challenged people to swear. Luckily DSAI has refused to do this. This type of swearing makes a mockery of oneself. They make swearing like “makan sayor la”. Only REAL DESPERATE people do this.
They are really desperate and make a clown of themselves by doing this to the whole world.
There are laws to be followed. If everyone swears to claim innocent or i have/have not do not this or that, then why need laws la.
Real bunch of class clowns
August 25, 2008 at 5:59 pm
My answer: NO! Tidak! 不!
I really hope that the voters in Permatang Pauh will answer the call from RPK that:
“You, the voters of Permatang Pauh, have the power to send BN into the Indian Ocean on the other side of Penang. Send UMNO, MCA, Gerakan, MIC, PPP and all the BN components to hell!”
Agreed with Michelle Yoon too that:
“You are not only voting for a Member of Parliament. You are VOTING FOR THE FUTURE OF MALAYSIA.”
August 25, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Yes… RPK is right… 26 million Malaysian + 6 billion of the world population are watching…
So, Permatang Pauh… don’t waste the opportunity… you are the heroes…

An excerpt of MIS’s latest posting, Re-establishing Malaysia(http://malikimtiaz.blogspot.com/2008/08/re-establishing-malaysia.html) :
…”In the last decade or so, the constitution has however taken a beating. Sadly, much of this has been at the hand of the Federal Court, an institution that was intended to protect it. The net effect of a string of decisions in this period has been the blurring of constitutional positions on key aspects of the system of governance to the extent that we have rapidly lost definition as a nation and the basic structure that is so vital for our continued sustainability has been put under threat.”
Malaysians need a change in governance. God & the people of P.Pauh be with DSAI.
cheers

Great pics. I tell you what, with all the charismatic and selfless anak-anak Bangsa Malaysia present at PP last night, it’s no wonder the BN folks are pissing in their pants.
Whatever the outcome though, let’s not give the cops any reason to use force or violence against our brothers and sisters voting.
With terrible regret, I’m not able to be there to lend support due to o/s assignment, but thanks to all the dedicated blooggers including Sam Haris, there’re ample updates available to us online. For that I thank all of you. Tak tidur sunyi at nights otherwise!
May God bless the whole lot of you bloggers.

26-08-2008 – D-Day ….liberation of Malaysia from UMNO, MCA, MIC and all their cronies.
August 26, 2008 at 6:54 am
As BN has been sinking the nation in corruption and cronyism and drowning the people’s livelihoods and their self-respect and human dignity in institutionalised and systematic racism, watching BN sink into the Indian Ocean, or into any other ocean, is a nice thought to contemplate upon and sleep on tonight.
On RPK’s ceramah – I found it amusing and also somewhat reassuring to read that he considers Penang as “this is my grandfather’s state”.
Well, it’ll be crunch-time soon in Permatang Pauh so good luck to DSAI, PR and to Malaysia!
The road from a far and distant “there” to Permatang Pauh has been long and arduous for so many aaBM, including DSAI. So to all you brave, defiant bloggers out there who have taken personal risks, and in many cases, been made to pay a high price for that show of courage, thank you for your non-kowtowing attitude, and for the flow of interesting information from your blogs that I access to keep myself “reliably informed”.
To me, you have all contributed to this forthcoming victory in Permatang Pauh, and to the changes that will flow from it for all aaBM. You are all heroes to me! It is your actions, plus everyone else’s incremental people-powered actions that have accumulated into the critical mass that is the Permatang Pauh by-election and the almost-certain win for DSAI there.
Like that Pink Floyd song “wish you were here” wish I was there in the midst of Permatang Pauh now, but I am certainly glad that the likes of Haris, RPK and the other hawkish bloggers are out there in full force, keeping a sharp eye out and reporting on the goings-on there!
May God bless you all.

The only other person they work harder against after Anwar is RPK and RPK holds no political office or have any intention of doing. Although at this juncture, he could win easily in many constituencies without campaigning.
Seriously, RPK makes better speech than any of the top leaders of UMNO. Is that no better absolute proof of lack of talent and skills that UMNOputraism produce?

No to ISA for political detainees. No to BN, No to UMNO !
YES for ISA to keep the potential religous extremist and militants in jail without trial for as long as possible. Keep the murderers, rapists and snatch thieves in ISA too, don’t need to see the “sampah masyarakat” on the streets I live in.
