    Al Fatihah for Pak Samad

    Innalillahiwainailaihirajiun.
    He is now back to Rahmatullah. I pray that his family will be strong in facing adversity. He will be remembered always as a great man at par with the rest of the other true patriots of Malaysia: Allahyarham Pak Sako, Burhanuddin Helmi, Ibrahim Yaakob and others.

  5. You have left behind your name
    Not because of personal fame
    But as a reminder of your flame
    That life is more than a game

  8. ‘To Those I loved and Those who Loved Me’.

    ” When I am gone, release me, let me go,
    I have so many things to see and do.
    You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears;
    Be happy for these precious years.

    I gave to you my love, you can only guess,
    How much you gave to me in happiness
    I thank you for the love you each have shown,
    But now it’s time I traveled on alone.

    So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must;
    It’s only for a while that we must part,
    So bless the memories within your heart.

    I won’t be far away, for life goes on;
    So if you need me, call and I will come,
    Though you can’t see me or touch me, I’ll be near,
    And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear
    All of my love around you soft and clear.

    And then, when you must come this way alone,
    I’ll greet you with a smile and say “welcome home’ “

    Pak Samad co-founded PAP with Lee Kuan Yew and others. LKY visited Pak Samad with curry chicken when he was detained by the British under ISA. Later, when LKY was in power, Pak Samad was detained under ISA by LKY. After moving to Malaysia upon his release, he would later be detained under ISA by the BN government. TDM released Pak Samad later but did not abolish ISA.

    Today, during his kebumian, no doubt many powerful people will be present to shed their tears and to bid farewell, but for a great man such as Pak Samad, dont they realise that the single most decent thing that they can still do for Pak Samad is to abolish ISA?
