ISA candlelight vigil
September 24, 2008
Venue : Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur
Date : Saturday, 27th September, 2008
Time : 7.00pm
_______________________________
Our system has denied justice to 64 ISA detainees.
Are you going to allow them to languish further in Kamunting?
Some of these detainees, like our beloved RPK and the Hindraf 5 spoke out for you and me, spoke up for a better Malaysia, spoke up for our next generation!!
Now is our turn, what can we do for them?
Pick up your candles and join the vigil to repeal the draconian ISA.
JUSTICE FOR RPK, JUSTICE FOR THE HINDRAF 5, JUSTICE FOR ALL ISA DETAINEES.
Suara Rakyat, Makal Shakati!!!

I lost your email addy Haris and your tel number : /
Cant be in KL 27. But a fren in Bangkok said he will post a Hari Rsya card everyday to RPK in Kamunting. Thought that is a good idea to share in your space.
Ops Lallang had postcards done by family of deatinees that was sold to the public and we sent the cards to Home Minstry, AG etc and detainees. Lets get Post Malaysia bezeee as well. And any person can participate in sending a post card.
In some campaigns the post cards are already stamped (or franked) and the public just signs, add their names to it.
Stay well. Stay cool.

Haris,
Just got back from the Abolish ISA forum.
Count me in for the vigil.
What they did to Pete today just boosted up my fighting spirit… This fight has to go on!
Simply because It is the Right Thing To Do.
Pete and Hindraf5 did it because it was the right thing for them to do. It was never about personal glory or heroism.
If everyone just does their part, no matter big or small, i don’t see how we are going to lose this war.
You know what happened at the forum tonight? Marina.. she gets the loudest and the longest standing ovation the moment she stepped into the hall. She stayed on till the end. The spirit lives on… a real inspiring moment!!
Makkal Sakthi, Bro!!!

September 24, 2008 at 6:52 am
INVITE TO ALL IN THE UK (OR ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD)
to be part of this vigil…AT THE SAME TIME…

Not sure if I can make it or not as I’ll be flying back to KLIA at 6.40pm on Saturday evening. How long will it take? (anyone can tell me?) If it last until 9pm, then I’ll just head towards dataran merdeka. If I can’t make it, my heart will still be there.
mei1,
You won’t make it in time.
await the next one.
God bless

Haris,
What they did to RPK ia a travesty of justice. I keep a nightly vigil for RPK, Teresa with a tea candle in a glass cannister and placed it outside my balcony. The tea candle can last for 3 hours each night. I hope others could do that too. But make sure it is safe.

Dear Bro Harris,
I am very disturbed on hearing that our Brother Raja Petra has been slapped with the 2-year detention at Kamunting! As I am in Penang, I cannnot possibly attend the candle light vigil planned for 27th September. Anyway, my heart and soul will be with all of you.
The “respected” Home Minister should have given consideration given to Petra to at least spend his time with his family during the oncoming ‘Id al-Fitr festival and after that he can sign the detention order and slap it on Raja Petra. I consider it as heartless and immoral Islamic undertaking. I’m sure Petra will NEVER forgive him during the final hearing on Judgement Day! YB Zaid’s comment is very, very humane and apt.

We call upon all the Rakyats of Malaysia to sign a Petition to be sent to the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong to release RPK from his detention under ISA because there is a hidden agenda of a conspiracy of using his detention to silence him so that he could not further release more evidences against the real C4 murderers of Altantuya because all the accused persons were all fall guys of the real murderers because they all did not have a real & logical motive to commit the murder of the Mongolian Lady.
THE NEW DAWN OF MALAYSIA HAS COME & THE FIRST THING IS TO ALLOW APPEALS & THEN RELEASE ALL ISA DETAINEES, ABOLISH ISA, OSA, SEDITION OR WHATEVER ACTS THAT COULD BE EXPLOITED AND MADE PREJUDICIAL AND OPPRESSIVE TO THE VOICE OF DISSENT FROM ALL THE RAKYATS.
It is very easy to generate Police Reports against DSAI by using Penang Mamak Umno’s 25 Members headed by Wan Abidin Zain, who claimed to be non-partisan, using their uneasiness that most Penangites will now be boycotting Nasi Kandar one more round???
It is very Sad that the legacy of Malaysian Independence is reduced by this Moronic Flip Flop Coward into great disrepute and a laughing stock of the whole world and knowing very well that the UMNO Government has technically collapsed and they lost the locus standi to govern but yet he has decided to shamelessly still cling on to power via dubious means like hiding himself via using of the ISA and we cannot imagine that the Malaysia Moronic Flip Flop Coward has now stoop so low and using the Police Deputy IGP as his willing tools especially the Deputy IGP’s clearly taking side as the Police must be neutral and should be not politiking for him.
The Coward Moronic Flip Flop Chicken dare not meet DSAI face to face to settle matters but chose hiding under the use of ISA and that is what you have as a disgraceful cowardice leader for UMNO.
After 51 years MALAYSIA IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE but backwards because of the Oppression from the UMNO goons’ divide and rule fear tactics the Rakyats have matured & you must see all this coming because All The Rakyats of Malaysia are all fed-up & can no longer with-stand the hypocrisies, bullshits, lies and deceits of these UMNO Clowns now in Power ok???
We urge all BN Components MPs with a conscience to do the necessary to make possible a New Malaysia for all Rakyats of Malaysia so that all our children and their children & their children’s children’s future will be safe and secured in the Country we all love and not be intimidated by those UMNO Clowns now in power with their oppressive & fear tactics and in the verge of making Malaysia a Police State if left unchecked otherwise. Save RPK as he is the midst of a conspiracy of the real murderers of Altantuya to silence him for good, instead of being C4ed he could be poisoned and worse off if he is on hunger strike by himself. The Acting IGP is defending the Police position after being made the tools of UMNO’s fear tactics & so he is now making lame excuses for being the Stringed Puppet to be easily manipulated by the Puppeteer, power that be. The Deputy IGP must be held personally responsible for the safety of RPK who has been heard to be tortured otherwise he must be made to eat his own medicine come the New Dawn of Malaysia.
Moronic PeeM and Botak Home Minister last minutes’ attempts to cling on power by using the fear tactics of using the ISA at their whims and fancies selectively against dissent & tried to deny their own actions as they now have no balls to face the wrath of the all the Rakyats of Malaysia. ONE DAY THE MORONIC BOTAK AND FLIP FLOP AND C4 MUST BE MADE TO TASTE THEIR OWN MEDICINE OK?
All Rakyats of Malaysia will see to that these Clowns will be thrown out soon come the New Dawn of Malaysia & that all Rakyats of Malaysia will welcome the New Malaysia on Malaysia Day 916, 2008 for a Malaysia for All Malaysians.
Justice MUST BE DONE for Altantuya and for all those detained under ISA without the trial nor the rights of appeal. Light-up a Candle in the Lantern of the Mid-Autumn Festival for them all to usher in the NEW DAWN OF MALAYSIA COME 916, 2008

Unable to do the candlelight virgil due to distance and health constraints but will do whatever I can. Please continue to keep us informed here or by email.
I wish I could be there with all of you. Let us not let RPK go down like this.
September 24, 2008 at 11:26 am
Yesterday night I had a dream while sleeping. I was thinking of RPK & family before knocking off.
I saw a lone individual sitting in front of the YDPA palace. He was bald and holding a yellow umbrella, in yellow T-shirt. He looked so small against the huge palatial gates yet he did not moved. He just sat there for the longest time. Motionless. It was such a sombre sight.
We call for PP to make the first strike! We cannot allow injustice to go unpunished and persist as if we are all dead. We are not dead. We are alive.

Sorry about the pseudonym. Just wanted to say, in light of Ramadhan, that we should not forget the others denied justice on the spurious grounds of being “terrorists” i.e. the guys labelled KMM and JI. Thanx.

My heart aches for all the ISA detainees. BN is a law unto themselves. One law for them and another for the rakyat. And they dare to say that cross overs are illegal. PR, where are you? We wait for the change, more so the detainees, every day counts. RPK and the Hindraf 5 did so much to awaken the Malaysian conciousness. I pray every day that soon the will walk out as free men, our national heroes. Harris, please light a candle for me.

Hi Haris,
Hope ur doing fine.
I will not be able to atten the event as I’m in Thailand but my family members will be there. .Managed to brainwash them to go.
As for me, I’ll try to make my way to the Malaysian Embassy and light a candle at the entrance. Me thinks that would be fun.
Have u reverted to your old phone number or ru u using a new one.
Take care and send my rgrds to Zrro, Pn. Marina, Gus an others..
It’s hard to get access to internet in this place..
September 24, 2008 at 10:13 pm
I will be there in dataran merdeka .
Every Malaysian around the nation should boycott any open house held by BN during Hari Raya.
It’s will hit hard on the PM and any BN leaders open house during Hari Raya if very few attend.
Imagine they have very few visitors and they are just standing there waiting for guests unlike previously they have hundreds and thousands attend their open houses. The reporters will be there to ask them why the turnout is so bad because i don’t think they will have any positive things to report for the BN. But definitely positive for the righteous Malaysian.
September 24, 2008 at 10:32 pm
My old stomping ground as a kid, I would have loved to be at Dataran doing my bit for the children of Malaysia.
But believe you me, I’ll be lighting a candle on the night of the 27th wherever it might be.
I hope our friendly FRU guys don’t ‘campurtangan’ and just leave us peaceful anak Bangsa Malaysia alone.
Let’s show our love to our brothers in detention without trial. If you live in an apartment, light your candles near the window or balcony and show your support and create a wave of ur own.
While we’re with our families during Raya, RPK’s children will be without their dad.

Haris,
There is also a anti ISA lantern march the same day it seems.. will we all be merging together?
—————————————————–
Gerakan Mansuhkan ISA (GMI), Writers’ Alliance for Independence, Youth Section of KL and Selangor Chinese Assembly hall, Youth for change (Y4C), and Malaysia Youth and Students Democratic Movement (DEMA) urge people don’t forget Raja Petra Kamaruddin, hindraf leaders and other ISA detainees after the release of Teresa Kok and Tan Hoon Cheng. We call upon concerned citizen to support the candle light vigil which is organized by Hindraf,. Regardless of race and religion please show your solidarity and support to abolish the draconian ISA.
The release of Tan Hoon Cheng, Teresa Kok is a result of people’s power, which exerted enormous pressure on government. Therefore we should continue the effort to fight for Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Hindraf leaders and all other ISA detainees’ release. Today, people are not more misled and isolated by ethnic politics. Let’s struggle for human rights for all and to abolish laws which allows detention without trial
On the 27 Sept 08, 7pm, same date and same time of Hindraf’s candle light vigil, we will also organizing a march of lantern –”Leave a light on for you” from central market to Merdeka Stadium. The lantern festival is a symbol of family reunion, the government should allow justice prevails and all detainees reunite with their family members.
We welcome all concerned citizens wear black shirts and join us at central market, main door facing car park. Lantern will be provided.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Mr Yap at 012-2658448.

My heart ached for RPK and his family. But I believe what goes around comes around. Those evils will be punished when they meet the CREATOR. GOD is watching!
Although I cannot join all of you in the vigil, I will definitely light my candles.

Haris,
The petition is hitting 30,000. Can People’s Parl give it a final push today and tomorrow, so that we can send a 50,000 big birthday card to RPK on Sept 27?
All those of us who’ve signed, pls get ONE more person to do the same.
I would agree that the Zaid paragraph could have been better framed but I believe it was written from the HEART.
Next week, then, we put our HEADS together and pull together a co-ordinated (under-one-roof) programme to pressure for RPK’s release. But for now — today and tomorrow — just go for 50,000-thinking-of-them as a morale booster to Raja Petra and all the others in Kamunting, for whom we’re lighting a candle this weekend.
PLS PASS THE WORD!

But if these men are victims of this unjust and divisive law then so are we all, because a country that bans truth gives licence to lies. And it is lies, not truth, that will harm us most.
