RPK’s sedition trial gets off the ground

The trial’s just recessed for lunch at 1.30pm and is due to resume at 2.30pm.
Started sharp at 9am, much to my surprise, presided over by Sessions Court Judge Justice Rozina Ayob.
Amarjit and Chandra are appearing for RPK.
The prosecution’s first witness, Harme Mohamed, the deputy director, international affairs, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, was offered as an expert witness on the A-Z of internet. He continues his evidence-in-chief in the afternoon.
The trial is expected to continue for the next few days, unless postponements are sought.
Will give you a follow-up report at the end of proceedings this evening.

In particular, I want to dedicate this post to the many beautiful people who were there this morning to lend love and support to RPK, Marina and the family.
You people are the absolute best that Malaysia has to offer.

The early ‘a little past 8′ birds.
Around 8.30am, Goh Keat Peng sounds the alarm that an unmarked van has pulled in and it might be that our hero is in the vehcle.
A crowd gathers close to the vehicle in anticipation.
RPK alights from the van amidst cheers of ‘Daulat Tuanku’ and remonstrationns that ‘you’ve got the wrong man inside’,
Shortly after, RPK’s lawyers, Amarjit and Chandra arrived.

Thank you for the update and pics, Haris. I feel so sad seeing RPK in such poor physical condition but I know he has the mental and spiritual strength to handle the injustices dealt him. We, near and far, are with him in spirit and in prayers. You and your “gang” are doing a fantastic job. We are so grateful and proud of you.

I went to Kamunting on 1st Oct, but only managed to pass a greeting card and a motivational poster to the police officers at the guard house… Hope they did indeed pass it to RPK.

It’s heartbreaking to see a good man like RPK being treated like this. Bad things always happen to good people. How can a country like Malaysia come to this, where is justice??? sad & pathetic.

Folks, keep supporting Raja and be there tomorrow? Its was a fantastic experience. I get to shake hands with great people like Marina, Din Merican, YB LKS, Ronnie and some famous bloggers. You wanna feel what justice is all about? Be there.
There were really generous ppl too, who gave out free T-Shirts, drinks, and cakes. Of course stocks of T-shirts for sales were also available. A feeling of oneness was there, ppl of different races who share the same sadness but carries the same hope and resolve to see this through. Its difficult to express in words. I felt sad but at the same time cannot help but admire and inspired by the rest. Many ladies, husband and wife team were there too. Thanks to everyone for showing good conduct, it was peaceful and the police have an easy day. I’ll be there again tomorrow. If you are lucky, (enough space)in the court, you can also listen to the preceeding – In ENGLISH!! Not bad ya? Come Bro and Sis of One Bangsa. See you there!

Many of us shed tears just looking at Pete today. All of you should understand the atmosphere there this morning.
This emotion has been building up since he was taken into detention 3 weeks ago and has finally find its best moment to release.
Glad to find many concern friends there.
Haris, you re the Man now. Nice to meet you finally and your hug was reassuring.

How nice to be there and to see him in person. Yes, we must take turns to go to boost his morale. His sacrifice to the people and country is immense and the only little way to show him our support is to ensure there is always a big crowd. Can anyone coordinate so that we can stagger our timing to come to the court precinct. I am very happy to shake hands with him at the court during recess and managed to tell him that he is not alone in the struggle. We have to organize gatherings all over Malaysia to highlight RPK’s mission to bring about a better Malaysia for Malaysians. May God Bless Him and His Family.
