Amarjit, Surind and I, accompanied by lawyers Malik Imtiaz and Ashok Kandiah, were at the Dang Wangi police station at 2.30pm yesterday to render our statements in relation to the Raya visit at PWTC.

ASP Sidney was on hand to record our statements.

We were out of the police station by 4pm.

My apologies for this late posting.

Thank you all for your kind prayers and thoughts.

Glad you’re not detained. Hope you’re feeling peaceful and manage to get some good shut-eye.

  2. romerz Says:

Thank God nothing untoward happened to you guys.

Its very difficult to know these days what is permitted and what is not since the law of the land can be subjugated to interpretations of the ruling elite.

I salute you guys and hopefully I find the same courage you guys found by pushing the envelope.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you ,Raja Petra, Hindraf Leaders & all those prisoners of Conscience & their families & loved Ones.
Its Malaysians like YOU & THEM who are Towering Malaysians who are laying the foundation for a free Malaysia-free of fear, free of corruption, free of abuse of power by those in power, free of racial discrimination.
The Police should be going after the Politicians & Crooks who are raping the Nation’s wealth -like the REAL Murderer(s) of Altantuya and also let the public know where is Private Investigator Bala? -the man who went public with his Statutory Declaration that Najib Tun Razak, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, knew the Murdered Altantuya !
The majority of Malaysians want a change in Government & hope Anwar Ibrahim,Keadilan-Pas-Dap will bring about a New Malaysia soon !

Yes, that was my worry too, that they will detain you. Thank God that you’re safe. Take care.

To fight the good fight, you need to be on the outside.

  11. Malaysian Wannabe Again Says:

Glad that al of you are safe. God bless and continue to keep you all safe.

  12. fergie Says:

So glad all went well for you and your comrades, Haris. Kept checking for news all yesterday. I am clueless as to why the polis are harping on this matter .. have they nothing better to do? They act so promptly on minor issues, yet murderers, kidnappers, rapists, etc are still roaming our streets. I give up trying to figure out our Malaysian system!

  13. Palaniappan Says:

No wonder I didn’t see you on 4th day of RPK’s hearing. Glad you are safe and please take care.

Hope to see you on Monday, 13th.

    God Willing, will be there

  14. pkler Says:

I fail to see what they can charge you guys/HINDRAF with when they eventually let you all in anyway, but in M’sia…

  16. Koe Habakkuk Says:

Have you to know that which you have done has enbolden us too to stand for justice, equality and against corruption!! THANKS for showing us the way!

Wanted to also say glad that it’s all over BUT guess it’s not over till ISA is thrashed in the dustbin and RPK (&others) is released!

I say to all….”Keep us the faith & press on with an unwavering spirit!” ISA will be removed soon!!

  17. Sunz Says:

Hey, get some rest, ‘kay? Take care of yourself.

It’s good to know that you’re all okay and no one’s been thrown behind bars just yet.

You’re one of the voices that spread the word and keep us strong, we need you here. So be careful. May God in all his forms watch over you.

    And over you, too

  18. mauryaII Says:

Thank God the BN goons and their legalised thugs didn’t do a RPK on you. In this Bodohland anything and everything is used to curb freedom of expression. Now they seem to be going after the attire one wears, all in the name of national security or is it the security of the ruling nincompoops?

  19. p-loon Says:

The moment I saw up blog update in my RSS feed, I knew you’re all right. Thank God. Looking forward to see you in the candlelight vigil tomorrow.

    p-loon,

    See you there tomorrow

  20. Parli-Man Says:

    Haris,

We are with you, God bless you.

  21. bubble&squeak Says:

I don’t really see what the big deal is for wearing the words “Free RPK”. It’s like wearing a shirt supporting your favourite band.
It’s very small-minded during the festive season to try and charge ppl for visiting an open house with a set of harmless words emblazoned on their chests. The other day I saw a Malay man at KLCC wearing a shirt with a swastika. That is an infinitely more offensive symbol.

It’s also very unbecoming of our country’s leader to sulk about being visited by a 5 year old child bearing gifts. A PM should be a big man focusing on big issues for the benefit of the people. Why is precious media space allotted to this kind of thing?

Hmmm…the double standard is atrocious. I suppose you didn’t carry out your protest properly as there was no photo-tearing or keris-waving. That seems to be the standard set these days when one wants to voice his or her opinion in this country.
Of course, it only works if you’re batting for the ‘right’ team.
Be safe, Haris. You are as brave as you are noble.

  22. jaycee Says:

Never underestimate the power of the pen, it does more things than the sword. Also the world has yet to see another massive “Gandhi’s peace” – let this begin in Malaysia where we “fight” for change without desiring violence and bloodshed.
Syabas Haris and all you noble bloggers – continue the war till the battle is won!!!! ONWARD!

  23. wandererAUS Says:

Damn all these ba*tards! Should we need to behave and wear what they fancy suitable in their line of thinking? Is Democracy dead in Malaysia?
Teresa’s was threatened, molotov cocktails thrown in her parent’s house, why have not quick actions taken to nab the culprits. Are the police not wasting their resources on you… exercising your citizen’s right. We have a country, getting all the priorities wrong because of mudheads running the country!

Hope to see your guys at PJ Padang tomorrow 8pm

  26. CPK Says:

Am very glad indeed to see you back…
    Best regards.

  27. rider Says:

Back safe and in God’s Grace!

  28. mei1 Says:

Glad that you’re fine. Just read the article titled “Zaid: Mahathir is back in power with Najib”, I shudder to think what would have happened to the nation & the people like you once Najib becomes the PM.

On the other hand, the hopeless Gerakan chief, KSK named PL as the “father of democracy” for Malaysia. My godness, what has he done for the country except for there’s better space for public opinion as compared to TDM?

What about PR? How’s the takeover plan going on? Is it still on track? I sincerely hope that it’ll still happen & happen soon as we, the anak-anak bangsa Malaysia really can’t afford to have a more authoritarian PM-to-be.

  29. lucia Says:

what the hell are the police harassing people like hindraf and RPK supporters for, when they should be doing other better things… like go harass utusan malaysia for their so racist reporting!! and our idiot hope-it-won’t-be but looks-like-it-is-going-to-be PM too describing them as unruly. what about penang umno members who were so unruly as to tear the photo of koh tsu koon!!!

    sheesh! double standard!!

  30. muhammad Says:

now that u have released the burden and worries of being put behind the slam cage, maybe u can start to ponder on your previous article, i do still think u owe an apology to the rakyat, and retract the article, not just say whatever, lah.

  31. CTLee Says:

    Dear Harris,

Glad that you and the other patriots are ok. It was spiritually uplifting to meet so many beautiful Malaysians at the PJ court this week supporting RPK.

As the British gomen was the one who created the ISA,
can we petition them to assist in abolishing this draconian act which is outdated in our present political context?

Can we even consider suing the gomen for mistreating the ISA detainees whom we consider as Nationalists?
Most of the detainees suffer from some forms of mental and physical problems after their release from detention. Hope some of you, legal experts can look into these.

  32. veryupset Says:

    Glad u r ok !

Actually, there’s no issue. PM said no action will be taken. Its just this so-call clever people in the goverment are stroking it.

They want to throw them all to jail. Let’s say if it was of another race..? Oh….. they’ll be suspended only & throw out the book…!

What makes us all think that we are living sooo….. peacefully amongst other races ???

  33. Rastaman.JB. Says:

    Dear Haris,

Phew! What a relief, really glad to hear all of you are fine.
No, you don’t owe no one any apology.Period.

    Let barking dogs continue barking.

  34. peng Says:

Was worried about you. Kept looking out for some kind of update from you or Surind yesterday till late night. Only managed to log on now and glad to know that you all were not detained. Is the case closed?

    peng,

Have to wait to see if there is any follow-up. Doubt if there will be, tho

  35. storm62 Says:

    GOD bless Haris,Amarjit and Surind,

i thought they’re trying to do a “Kickdafella” job on you guys too.

never teach police dogs new tricks.

  36. Muhammad Firdaus Christopher Says:

    Dear brother Haris,

Apologies for the late response in this post but I was already feeling at ease after receiving your response via sms late last night.

Nevertheless, you hang in there & I will see you real soon after coming back frm China next week. will be leaving later this morning & already feeling good after reading abt the exchanges between N & S…

May God continue to shower his blessings on you & do send my love to Pete, Marina & kids.

    Cheers

  37. ttc Says:

    Haris, howdee :)

As you yourself say, no need for any whatsoever apologies on your blog even if you think you are late in posting this telling everyone that you are SAFE from that bad loony SHA’s clutches.

All here laughed so much at that good-natured GB joke that we nearly fell off our chairs!

But, some here are saying that maybe you’ll have to apologise to the dead and gone GB when you meet up with him in that afterlife. Hmm. Or maybe GB’ll say to you then that what he’s supposed to have said to that NY waiter was said deliberately for some harmless fun and that he, GB, smartly fooled everyone, including you too Haris, and so may end up laughing with you in that afterlife.

Yes, some here do say that some have hyper-active grey matter while others say that some others more uptight should just relax or even grow up a little and maybe go out and smell the nice roses a little.

BTW, speaking of roses, why is it that they took you to that very fragrant police station instead of that stinky one at Bukit Aman? Is it because the PRDM are beginning to get more proactive in self-preservation and so taking care of the future AG and future IGP’s friend?

WE SAY YEAH! :) AND HARIS FOR AG & RPK FOR IGP!

  38. today Says:

    Dear Harris.
Halleluia!!!!! You and the rest are safe.I was so worried for you guys.Take care yah…M sorry I couldnt find you on Monday.Actually I dun have a clue as to who you are and am too shy to ask around….I was late ..very late for the candlelight vijil on Sunday nite….or else I wud have known who you are then…. nevermind ,I know as long as I am walking with RPK,I will get to meet you one day…
I got to the court on Monday but was so disappointed that the case was postponed however I was happy to see RPK again! He looked a wee bit “fresher” as he had his hair cut!!! My disappointment was indeed great as I wanted this case to be over and done with since some “angel” of a mamak lawyer told me that AAB might be kind enuf to get RPK out as soon as this case is over…..AAB himself sees no reason now why RPK should be imprisoned under ISA…..Now does it mean that we have to wait till November for our beloved RPK to be released…..excuses,excuses,excuses…all at the expense of RPK’s freedom…..there is absolutely no reason to hold him in Kamunting…(sob, sob!)
Again, thanks to all you brave ,dedicated and courageous guys, like you,Din,Zorro,Surind,Kickdefela and many other bloggers who worked so hard for justice and freedom….I really am so touch and encouraged by all of your dedication…I for one very often feel this sense of haplessness when I see the evil and unfairness that the present system of this country practises and I can only resort to prayers (mostly)for all those incarcerated…..
