many-colours-11pj-isa-vigil30112008Norlaila Othman, wife of long-time ISA detainee, Mat Shah Mohd Satray, who was supposed to be with us last week but was called away to Teluk Intan on urgent family matters, has told me that she will try to be with us this week, together with her son.

Also spoke to PJ city councillor a while ago. Yes, poor man was at the police station doing the usual you know what.

Those wo were arrested on 9th November and had their bail revoked on 24th November without any charges being preferred, Ashok would have sent you an e-mail. Hope to see you at the vigil this Sunday. Maybe we can take a few minutes after the vigil to discuss about getting justice for you for what happened on the 9th.

See you all on Sunday.

    Bro Harris,

I think it’s about time that we anak bangsa Malaysia organise a mammoth rally or march to show our loyalty to our rulers – DYMM the Agung and the Sultans. The BN has systemically sidelined and insulted the royalty in many ways like not consulting them before issuing fatwas, appointing state heads without consultation and many more.

I feel we the rakyat should show that our loyalty is with our rulers and that we support and respect them irrespective of our ethnicities. And if the police were to cause any problems they have to deal with the wrath of the royalty. Daulat Tuanku.

I too will light up in unison from here as I am a strong believer in that old adage that says “united we stand, divided we fall”.

And here’s to SMASHING into oblivion and obsolescence the evil ISA and also all other unjust and bad man-made laws that have been enacted and kept in the statute books with the mala fide intention of fettering and imprisoning the powerful human spirit that seeks to be free through truth and justice.

And may dear compassionate God bless you all and watch over every one of you for standing together defiantly and refusing to back down or give up in the face fearful intimidation and injustice meted out to you and to your fellow aaBM by your unjust, unaccountable and hubristic, power-mad Government.

Umno must realise that the rakyat will not be intimidated & the ISA is the most inhumane piece of law to silence prisoners of conscience. They can stop the message but not the messenger. REFORMASI !

  11. setia Says:

    Haris,

I have been deliberating the ISA in my mind for a while and have a few honest questions to ask you and your lawyer friends:

    1) Can the ISA prevent another May 13?

    2) Could the ISA have prevented the Bali bombings?

    3) Could the ISA have prevented the Mumbai attacks?

    4) Could the ISA have prevented the demonstrators from taking over the Bangkok airports?

Thanks! I know these are very complex questions.

    Drachen,

    Quite simply, no.
