On 20th November, last year, I had written to JAKIM requesting for a fatwa on the question of whether concepts of ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ and the Bumiputra-non Bumi distinction that seems to be constantly pursued by UMNO is unIslamic.
I had blogged about this last year and the post and the letter to JAKIM can be viewed HERE.
Both in that post and the letter to JAKIM, I had quoted Nik Aziz as reported in BERNAMA. I reproduce that quote below.
“Di dalam Islam tidak mengira bangsa, apa yang penting adalah takwa kepada Allah s.w.t. Tidak kiralah bangsa apa, Cina, Melayu, India dan Arab. Tuhan hanya melihat ketakwaan seseorang itu… kerana bila kita bertakwa kita takut kepada Allah dan menjalankan tanggungjawab kita”.
Needless to say, I’ve not got a response from JAKIM.
Malaysiakini yesterday reported PAS president Hadi Awang as being against the “dropping the 30 percent bumiputera equity in businesses, describing the proposed measures by Prime Minister Najib Razak as detrimental to the race”.
For those of you who are not subscribed to Malaysiakini, Malaysianinsider has a similar report .
Malaysiakini reports Hadi as saying that “The bumiputeras are still lagging behind in terms of experience and their position…We want to be fair to all races but at the same time the bumiputera position should be strengthened…They lag behind in education amenities (for example). They cannot compete with the urbanites of other races who have such privileges”.
Could the leadership of the Kelab Penyokong PAS (KPP) please ask Hadi to explain what position, unique only to the bumiputras, needs to be strengthened?
Could the leadership of the KPP ask Hadi if he is aware that, like the bumiputras, a great many people of the other races also lag behind in education amenities and cannot compete with urbanites of any race, bumi or otherwise?
Could the leadership of KPP ask Hadi if his stand on this bumi – non bumi divide is at odds with the final sermon of the Holy Prophet, as reproduced below?
“All mankind is from Adam and Eve. An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab. Also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white except by piety and good action.”
Until KPP gets clarification and shares the same with us, we must assume that Hadi’s PAS might just stand for Parti Ajaran Sesat.

How does PAS expect unconditional support for it as a political party when they come up with these goofs? Hadi obviously has his Islam packaged for him so that it allows him to hold a position opposite to what the Prophet might have said as you have quoted. Maybe he is bigger than the Prophet himself. After all the Prophet was not a president of any political party was he!
Islam and being racist seems to be something that PAS seems to be espousing in the name of Islam. Now how that works I really don’t know. but in some convoluted way I suppose Hadi and his deputy should be able to explain themselves.

What happened to “PAS For All”? One has to be circumspect so as not to be easily taken in. This is not intended as a slight, but the opening question is to help with restoring credibility. (For eg, Agoes Salim speaks out of both sides of his mouth when he speaks of dominant and dominance – it’s like, I want to be happy but I don’t want happiness.) Like Gerakan was born out of MCA, PAS was born out of Umno. Their reason for existence are identical, only different ways of getting there: PAS railroading with religion, Umno with ethnicity. PAS-Umno unity becomes inevitable when one railroad ends up at the cliff.
On the matter of Mahathir/Najib. A brief remark.
In Part 1: The Malay Dilemma (MD) “conveniently distorted a prevailing ‘have versus have-nots’ class issue into a racial one…”
One is nearly there, but not quite. First, it was not solely a problem of class as we commonly understand class because, unlike industrialised Europe or Russia, Malaysia was almost entirely one class, agrarian and raw commodity production. Income and GDP statistics attest to that. Second, Mahathir did not “distort”; he actually invented a race problem on what was, at the time, a universal development issue faced by all new countries: how to improve everybody’s lives. As Umno makes economics a race problem, PAS makes religion a race problem.
We know what is an economic problem, but what’s a race problem? This is where the MD comes in. To create a race problem, grievances were made – Mr A is such and such because he is Malay, Mr B is such and such because he is Chinese; therefore Mr B caused Mr A or vice-versa (absurd but that was the kind of logic). The MD is full of those kinds of grievance-making.

Brother Harris,
The politicians in Malaysia have had hijacked democracy and linked it up with religion ! In any religion where God is the supreme one, there must not be any class nor race equated with it.

How true! I have serious doubts about Hadi & co’s brand of Islam as they propagate it. The issue of 30% bumi quota is not a issue if the underlying intentions are sincere. If the underlying intentions are for the sake of ketuanan of a race, then it is against the teachings of any religion. Hadi’s brand of religion apperas to be materialistic, racialistic and power-inclined.
On the other hand, Tok Guru Nik Aziz has my respect over the years. He has been consistently fair and has portrayed Islam as a religion of noteworthiness.
Indeed, Parti Ajaran Sesat seems to be the apt description for the PAS led by Hadi and co.

Hi
Remember, the previous fatwa haji hadi & now…Hadi had suffered ‘slight’ celebrial stroke. I’ve been told he suffered twice. His independent reasoning and comprehension or ijtihad shows regressing thought pattern: multiple matrix pattern of thought analysis are incongruents and shows conflicting thought patters. Further regression is possible.. leading to critical phase of the manifest symptoms of ‘sickness’. His days of ‘ijtihad’ I think are over & it is time for him to be ‘advise medically’ retired gracefully. This is the reality. It is not “party ajaran sesat”……he is just unfit due to inconsistencies thought process and patterns to give further “fatwas” or any religious ideologue any more. Regards.

Hadi is just a wolf in a sheep skin. How can he be a Muslim leader when he only talk about the malay/muslim unity and not malaysian at large. Let him show me/us in the Kuran where it is stated that the Malay should be treated differently. Doesn’t he think by doing that he is making the malays more relying subsidies and handouts. It makes them just maks them masyarakat kebajukan. This is not nation building. Hadi why not you just join UMNO as you do not propogate Islam as you claim t be.wearing green does not equate to be holier than others.

Even before this A$$H@^& becomes part of government, he is already swollen headed. Hadi already think he is the next PM. Come next GE we should all teach Hadi and NAs a lesson. We should vote them OUT. If these two jokers think they should be in bed with UMNBO, then in their constituencies, we may as well vote for UMNO rather than the hope-to-be-in-bed-with-UMNO jokers. That goes for the other A$$H@^& Zul Nordin. We get throw into the jamban hole once and for all.

Hadi and Nas and PAS Youth and Zul Nordin:
WAIT until next GE…..we will teach you a lesson. Yeah we vote BN in your constituencies. Hadi and Nas, we will see how big you are and whether you will be next PM and DPM when you will not even be voted into and MP or ADUN seats! Hadi wants to behave like a PM even before he gets to smell the PM’s chair.

Hadi is an extremist racist who is no different from the UMNO goons. His pretended affiliation with DAP and PKR is just to garner more votes from the non-Malays for him to boost his concept of Malay supremacy or Ketuanan Melayu.
The only sincere person is Tok Guru Nik Aziz who seems to be shunned by the rest because of his quest to be a true Muslim. I salute you Tuan Guru.

Racial based party will be gone forever. Probably Haji Hadi thought he still can win by playing with racial issue. *********************** It was the Malay (and thats including PAS) who were demonstrating against the teaching of Science and Math in English. ******************** and end up having UiTM just for the Malays (*************************). My point of view, if you don’t feel like advancing yourself then stop complaining of lagging behind. Sekiranya melayu hilang di dunia ini, ini adalah kerana Melayu sendiri. Bukan kerana chinese, Indian, Arabs, etc.
Hatim,
Next time, I won’t even bother to edit out your insensitive comments. I’ll just hit the ‘Delete’ button.

again i say……..
PAS AND UMNO SHOULD WORK TOGETHER, one is racist and one is Taliban.
all others should join Pakatan Rakyat.
Let the voters choose if the want a racist taliban government or a moderate one. UMNO is hiding behind moderates like MCA, MIC and Gerakan. While PAS is hiidng behind moderates like DAP and PKR.
These 2 losers should have balls to join as one and stick to the racist taliban principles and not hide behind meaningless slogans like ” PAS FOR ALL ” and ” 1MALAYSIA”

Hadi Awang has a rather pleasant face (and is probably a very nice guy offstage) but he seems to be running outmoded software. One can’t help but notice that the more cosmopolitan Malay leaders all have one thing in common: they are effectively bi-lingual, being fully at ease communicating in English to a larger audience, while the ones with less developed linguistic skills tend to be more ethnically insular. Interesting how, as we acquire mastery of other people’s languages, we also find it easier to let go of xenophobic attachments to our own cultural imprints.

Hi
…Talking about muslim malays…but don’t forget about ‘dispora’ muslim malays ….
1.South african malays speaks english, afrikaan & eglish education. My classmates also speak arabic.
2. Mecca (Saudi Arabia) speak arabic and malay. In 1940′s malay was 2nd language in Mecca, S Arabia & malays are prominent islamic intelectuals.
3. Sri Langkan malays speaks english and ceylonese.
4. Cambodian malays speak malay & chambodian
5. Southern Thailand malays speak malay and thai,& many also understand arabic.
6. Chrismas Island & Cocos Island malays all 2nd generation speaks malay & english…& later mostly migrate to Perth, Australia.
Do they have any concept of malay muslim ‘bumiputranisn’ & 30% equity & malay linguo-fanatic? If they still able to speak malay definitely they will say… ‘ OOH! THAT PARTI AJARAN SESAT’…. & They still pride and associate themselves as malays & muslim & master 2nd language & other labguages. They fit very well in their adopted land and society & nothing to loose spritually.

Certainly looks that way, doesn’t it?
One’s Islamic guidance compass looks to be in good working order and set in principle to point straight to the true directions while the other’s appears to have been suspiciously wonky from the start.

How can PAS ever be recognized as a party for justice, fairness and understanding when its stand on such issues are seen as a throw back and carbon copy of UMNO’s race based policies?
Hadi and Co should be removed from the scene and replaced by fair minded Muslims who think not of race nor color but men or women who stives for the greater good of all Malaysians, period.
The real problem is : In Malaysia, these so called leaders lke HADI and gang lacks the “intellectual quality and maturity” to lead let alone represent their party.

The more we talk about race and religion the more will we be falling victims to the Government’s propagand to divide the races…time and energy wasted over exactly what this Government wants the people to be preoccupied with.
One usually looks to a PM to give direction to his people. Here in Malaysia, the PM does not do anything to counter the argument related to the Malays need protection policy, This argument has been so entrenched, it is being bleeped over and over again, until one gets sick and tired and ashamed. In the end the Malays would become like sacks of potatoes….they will never be able to lift themselves up… INDEPENDANTLY. Someone has to ‘hold their hands’ all the time.Remember Tengku Abdul Rahman’s apt slogan…. asking for help from “womb to tomb”. Oh dear, I’d be ashamed if I were chosen to have special rights over other people of my same flesh and blood.
Some outdated, outmoded policy being fanned and propagated purely for selfish and greedy reasons..which runs counter to the Maker’s law…that MANKIND is born equal.

Too many versions of Islam in Malaysia. Just our former PM’s Islam Hadhari took us for a ride for more than 5 years. Now this Hadis from PAS is coming up with another version? Maybe Hadpagi, Hadmalam, Hadpetang, Hadbulan or Hadtahun? It only goes to confuse the non Muslims and the younger generation of Muslims!!!

Nikki Lee Aziz is a murtad kafir, period. It is so damn obvious. No amount of whitewash is gonna paint over that blackwash. muslims the world over, with the exception of the munafiquns, the fasiqins et al., know what the contents of the Scripture is referring to and whom its is directed against. we dont need for a part-time hippie lebai to elucidate Allah’s words….. enuff said.Anyway, your pathetic attempt at “resurrecting” a soaked and thoroughly drenched piece of thread is laughable……hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhhaaahahhahahahah LOL. thanks for the tickle, anyway
