Saturday morning, I spoke at the MCLM Citizen Empowerment School.
Later, I headed out to a couple of meetings.
Won’t say where this happened as I do not wish to risk exposing the identity of the officers concerned.
I turned left at a traffic light and was flagged down by a police officer.
I immediately knew what the offence was.
I wasn’t wearing the seat belt.
Pulled up and waited for the officer.
He came round to my side, and then looked aghast at me and exclaimed, “Alamak, ini kesalahan besar, encik”.
I was puzzled, and asked him what was this ‘kesalahan besar’.
Pointing to my chest, he asked, “Mana boleh pakai baju tu?”.
I had completely forgotten that I was wearing my yellow ‘BERSIH 2.0′ t-shirt.
“Apa salah pakai baju ini?”, I asked.
By now, a second police officer came up to the car.
“Encik, ini kesalahan serius ni, encik,”, the second officer offered.
“Pakai baju kuning salah? Ada lojik ke, encik? Encik nak cek kereta saya kalau ada senjata?”, I asked the second officer.
“Ala, encik mesti tahu kerajaan sudah haramkan baju ini. Tak boleh pakai. Kesalahan besar, encik,”, the second officer shot back.
“Encik berdua ada hadir kat himpunan pada 9 Julai, tak?, I asked them both.
The first officer kept silent.
“Ah, gila ke? Kita polis, lah! Mana boleh?”, the second replied.
“Saya ada diperhimpunan itu.Encik ingat saya hanya berjuang untuk masa depan anak saya, tak berjuang untuk anak encik berdua ini?”, I asked.
The first officer responded.
“Kami tahu encik”, was all he said.
I shot another question to both.
“Berapa gaji kamu berdua?”, I asked.
The seond officer appeared to take offence to my question.
“Apa kena mengena dengan ni?”, he asked.
“Encik tahu tak gaji polis kat Singapore hampir 6 kali daripada gaji encik?”, I shot back.
“Betul ke?”, the second officer asked.
“Betul. Saya nak tanya, Singapore ada getah tak, ada kelapa sawit tak, ada minyak tak, ada gas tak? Tak de, kan? Malaysaia adakan? Kenapa gaji polis di Singapore 6 kali lebih tinggi daripada gaji encik dua ni?”, I asked.
Both officers just looked at me in silence.
“Sebab 40 tahun UMNO dah liwat rakyat. Habis segala kekayaan rakyat dicuri UMNO. Rakyat sekarang menuntut untuk keadilan untuk semua. Untuk polis jugak”,I said.
Pin drop silence for a good 10 seconds.
Then the first officer extended his arm and shook hands with me and said, “Lain kali pakai seat belt, encik. Dan hati-hati pakai t-shirt tu.”.
That made my day.

Heh! You just hadda do it, eh Haris. Driving around without wearing seat belts and attracting the attention of the enforcement personnel of PDRM.
That’s entrapment!
Moral of this story – Cops will have second thoughts when faced with anyone wearing the yellow BERSIH t-shirt.
HIDUP BERSIH 3.0! Bila gak nya ya?
Sebaik saja Najib buka mulut maklumkan hasratnya untuk bubarkan parlimen sedangkan pulihan sistem pilihanraya yang didesak oleh rakyat belum ditunaikan

Yeh, yellow for Saturday. But I have been seeing our brother LIM GE wearing yellow most of the time when outside office hours. He was also wearing yellow when riding bicycle with najib in Penang. Let’s start building up the momentum now as a prelude to coming B3.

Have done my bit to counsel some of the forces (police, army etc) about what’s happening to our country.
Especially my schoolmates of KE who are serving the country but being forced to be submissive to evil intentions.
Good on you, Haris.
May God/Allah/Jesus/Shiva/Buddha save our country from BN after we’ve done all we can.

Good job Haris!
Glad our young mata-mata today can think for themselves unlike their corrupt higher-ups who just know how to flex their muscles and act mere running dogs for their political masters.
This umno-led BN government needs to listen to the people, reform or have reform forced upon them!

Bless you, Haris, for opening those ‘mata-mata’ eyes! You should do it often!
The ones they should look out for are the robbers and thieves of our national coffers!
In fact, everyone of us can play a part to wake up these civil servants who are still blindly loyal to the corrupted and abusive govt. I really don’t understand why they can’t see where our country is heading to if they continue to vote in BN.
We, the Rakyat, are in these together, unlike many UMNOputras and its cronies. At least they have a second home abroad if the country becomes bankrupt.

We need more Haris from all throughout the nation and i am quite sure there are many yet to rise and soon hopefully we shall see more of them from within the Rakyat, only then the Rakyat can take back ownership of this beautiful nation.

Well done Haris your rebut to the officer in question – make it known that the struggle of the many civil liberties movement are to benefit the many in employ within govt sector, uniform services etc.
Secondly, I won’t doubt you but it is indeed startling cops are paid six times the quantum of what our boys in blue are getting. Cheers as always.

Maybe I should “forget” to buckle up in the vacinity of certain roads in my area where traffic police often lurk!
Good job, Haris. Wish I can do as good a job spreading the stark truths about how corrupt and despotic UMNO-led BN has been.
I tried doing something like that a couple of months ago with a local council official with who I had occasion to discuss some matter. But said official kept going back to “kakitangan kerajaan kena sokong BN lah”.
Victim of the brainwashing civil servants have been subjected to with possibly some liberal reinforcement and scare-tactics from the local UMNO/BN machinery. Who knows, maybe his own supervisor and bosses were part of the machinery.
But who knows. Perhaps at least some seeds of doubt had been sown in his mind about the validity of his stance. Perhaps the trith may yet win through come GE13.

I wore yellow jogging in my neighborhood on the evening of July 9. Two uniformed policemen rode past me slowly on kapchais. To my surprise, the second policeman gave me a thumbs-up sign. That made my day too knowing some cops are also for change.

Dear Haris,My MCLM no M00082(if not mistaken) I was a Polis Field Force Officer for 10 years, while I spend my youth fighting for you all, some bastards in Town rape our country, well that’s my story in short, went to our squad mates reunion party, held every year, well we are the only one’s that has done so,(missed a few years)since 1978,now adays some of my squadmate are Top Guns in the Force, but I still remind them of which way our country is heading, some will answer, nak cari makan, but most, deep down acknowledge the direction the force is heading, deep down hill, will keep warning them, gaji or cari makan isn’t an excuse to exercise blatant unwanton brutal action towards the Rakyaat, they know, but the newer one’s are just like Robot’s,those I will personaly kick their asses myself, when the time comes, which I hope n pray very2 soon after GE13,rest assure that I have a personal agenda towards Umno n their leaders, n C4 is child’s play to me,who ask them to teach me,lied to me,used me n then discard me,well they can hide anywhere they want,an eye for an eye, that’s my warning to them, sent the Van to pick me up for ISA,ASA or Esso, but it’s ABU that I want, after that the righteous Malays will rise n perhaps with our other Malaysian Brother help us regain our faith in ourselves, those kind of Malay shall not dissapear, the Umno’s version WILL
