Two nights ago, I had supper with the very same UMNO people who told me in December, last year, that Najib would move to dissolve parliament on February 17th and have the polls for the 13th GE on 11th March.
They informed me that as of now, nothing has changed.
Those dates are still on the cards.
Is anyone hearing anything else?

The 25th World Gas Conference will be held in Kuala Lumpur from the 4th to the 8th of June, with the host organisation being Petronas. Hugely expensive and designed to impress. I’ve heard that the GE will be held after that. Before or after Ramadan is anybody’s guess.

Yesterday, the Borneo Post website carried a “Barisan Nasional on 5th gear” report which quoted BN info chief Ahmad Maslan as saying:
…his team was on standby for the announcement by
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib to dissolve the
parliament and were already in full swing.
“The instruction from the prime minister is accelerating
and shifting into 5th gear. It’s no longer 3rd or 4th gear.
We are in full swing, save for some minor adjustments.”

My source told me YB Najib wants it in March but many BN leaders are trying to change his mind as they anticipate a greater defeat compared to 2008 (the consensus is BN will still retain federal government).

I am a Penangnite and always feel proud that Penangnites are the most political concious people in Malaysia. Penang was the first state to witness the downfall of BN in the GE12 on the fateful date of March 2008. Penangnites are the most daring in this country and brave enough to say no to BN, UMNO,GERAKAN,MCA and MIC.
I believe in this coming GE13, Penang will lead again. And it is always our worries up north that most Johorean Chinese down south are still “sleeping” out there and most of them are really so dumb enough to keep on voting for BN and MCA.
Therefore, anyone who has relatives or family members in Johor, please wake them up and ask them to stop eating potato ( huan chu ).

I believe your sources may be right, especially with the sudden resurgence of anti-Christian bashing, Hasan Ali’s road show, Himpunan road show and last, but certainly not the least, Datuk T’s second sex video on Anwar. With all these drummed into the rakyat’s minds, the sooner they hold the better because the issues will still be fresh. By March, the various issues may turn stone cold as UMNO will find it hard to sustain the sandiwara effect.

Nah…. Najib is a coward and he’s playing to his advantage. He’ll be losing whether BN wins or loses, he’ll be losing his seats as the president of UMNO and PM. Are you all crazy: March 2012? They are scared shitless of 308 and would they want another 312? The GE will be held at the end of the year if not early next year. Najib & Rosmah will squeeze Malaysia dry. They don’t seem like politicians who merely want power, they seem more like opportunistic guerrilla.

I like to think Najib is dumb enough to do it. But the realist in me says no. The only reason he would do it if he has had massive cheating he can hide are all in place but I don’t believe he is that good. So no. June is the earliest and even then, it will not be easy..

Whenever the 13th GE will be held is immaterial. The mindful rakyat who has had enough of this UMNO-BN inefficient, biased and corrupt rule, will know that on the day of the elections, vote the UMNO-BN out and let them rot on the sidelines for many years to come. Enough is enough. Pakatan goverment should be given at least a 2 term mandate to start cleaning up the mess Malaysia is in now. Nothing much will be solved in the first term as the new government will need time to dismantle the corrupt machinery that has been entrenched for so long. Syabas to a new Malaysia.

No way he can call it now or call it anytime soon. Najib knows BN will lose if he calls it now. He will see out the full term and hope that he can turn things around by then What he does NOT know is that there is absolutely NOTHING he can do to stem the tide. Whether he calls it this March or in March 2013, we should be ready for a fight to the death. Najib and gang will NOT go graciously. And he has the Police, the judiciary and the royalty backing him – so what he should be and is probably doing is reinforcing the support from these institutions by lining the pockets of the right people and if he hangs on long enough he would have bought up all the right people in the right places. This is going to be a tough one folks. But we will get there …. eventually!
