ABU is carrying 4 issues nationwide.
Issues which we feel affect the entire nation and which all the rakyat must know about.
The second issue is the matter of the risk of radioactive exposure to all of us by the Lynas rare earth refinery in Gebeng, Kuantan.
This Sunday, 26th February, 2012, the Himpunan Hijau 2.0 is holding a rally in Kuantan to protest the insistence of the authorities proceeding with the Lynas plant notwithstanding an increasing opposition to the same by the rakyat.
I urge you all to make time t0 go to Kuantan to stand in solidarity with the folk of Gebeng and Kuantan to send a strong message to the government.
This is our land, and our lives, and we will rise to defend it.
If, however, you are unable to make the journey to Kuantan to stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Kuantan, rallies are also being organised in Ipoh, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur and Penang to tell the government that the people of Gebeng and Kuantan are not alone in opposing Lynas.
I urge you all to make time to join us at the various locations listed in the banner below.

Honestly, if they go through with this without guaranteeing there is someplace for the waste to go, not only will I not even go to Gopeng. I am moving out of the peninsula – not even Singapore. You know that such accumulation of waste are terrorists targets? You put some C4 that is easily obtainable here it seem and blow it up, it will spread all over the region…

Thank you Haris, here is one Kuantanite who is immensely grateful and touched by you and those who support our cause and understand our concern. Most people are deeply incensed by the arrogance of the govt[forgot the person who daid it] who said that no matter how many people protest, it will allow lynas to continue op. What a sad day for Malaysia that we have leaders like that.

Haris – see you at the KL gathering this sunday! Looking forward to shaking your hand
eh: I thought you always like to say your from Pahang? Dowan to balik kampung is it?
BTW: As this is an environmental gathering I feel that people driving from KL all the way to Kuantan and then back, to attend the rally in Kuantan runs counter to the environmentalist nature of this gathering. Himpunan Hijau is primarily against Lynas but lets not forget its a gathering about environmental issues. – So please dont drive there if you cant. Take a bus or car-pool if your willing, otherwise attend the closest nationwide rally to you instead
