You live in Bangsar, TTDI, or Taman Desa?
Ipoh?
Georgetown?
Seremban?
You think therefore that you are so far removed from the risk of radioactive exposure posed by Lynas Rare Earth Refinery Plant that may start operations soon in Gebeng, Kuantan?
Well, think again.

The possibility of a massive environmental and human disaster occurring around the Lynas refinery is indeed high – but I don’t it would be as dramatic as what we have seen with nuclear power plant meltdown situations. Instead, radioactive contamination is likely to be very slow and insidious, its lethal effects accumulating over many years – unless a “natural disaster” like a tsunami or massive flooding hits the area. Even before the Lynas refinery begins operations, the area around it has been prone to serious flooding. It is inevitable that a particularly severe flood will spread radioactive waste over a very large area – possibly affecting even Singapore or the entire Indochina coast, depending on how the currents flow. What is utterly outrageous is that the AELB issued a “temporary” operating licence, knowing full well that Lynas does not have any idea how to dispose of the waste! Even though we now know that AELB stands to profit directly from Lynas, they are denying outright that there is a serious conflict of interest.
The corrupt BN has openly declared war on the rakyat of Malaysia. I am appalled that there are seemingly intelligent people who continue to endorse Najib’s rogue regime – obviously, it all boils down to business. Mokhzani Mahathir, for one, would lose a huge contract if the refinery is halted. The sins of BN are all coming home to roost – their only recourse is hooliganism!

It stinks putrid when a country boasting religious values loud and clear, can stoop so low down, to have given the green light, for such a disastrous radioactive plant to be built in of all places, our country.
It smacks of wanton carelessness and bloody greed.
Malaysia is acclaimed as a land blessed by God with having no natural disasters to contend with. She is the envy of many visitors who spontaneously express these sentiments, and envy us, without reserve.
One can never be sure, how far radioactive material, issuing from such an area, can travel if disaster occurs. Even scientific research and knowledge in a case like this can err.. Radioactive material from the Chernobyl plant spread to other areas in Europe and seeped into the ground destroying root vegetables and crops. People resident near the plant, whose livlihood was was obliterated in minutes, went down all the way, even as far as Australia, to live their precious lives.
When there is ample proof of lost lives and maimed human beings left on earth to go through the rest of their lives in despair and sadness, the ‘mighty’ fools here in our country, who gave the go ahead for the operation in Kuantan, thought only of themselves and the grandiose profits that will fill their pockets, in huge proportions..
How little do they know about Divine retribution!!!

To draw a parallel between an exploding high pressure Russian RBMK electricity and PLUTONIUM producing REACTOR spraying actively FISSIONING URANIUMl all over the place , and the Lynas CHEMICAL PLANT!!!!!!!!!!!! is nothing short of CRIMINAL SPIN.. Are you that stupid? probably not..Are you THAT politically evil and think the ends justifies the means for your political party? I’d say for sure. I’m pretty savvy with atomic science so you merely AMUSE me BUT you scare the average rakyat half to death and he can hardly sleep at nights ..just what you want to do eh? Like to get them all into the streets rioting on FALSE INFO and getting hurt eh? Tell you something buddy, that riles me, if I was running things I would hunt you down like the LYING DOG U ARE and lock you up. Mind raping the less educated i.e. informed, should be a de-capitating offense. You delight in the path of ERROR. The Holy Quran speaks of your type..low life liar that you are!! Very low level NATURAL isotope alpha radiation from Thorium-232 can be found EVERYWHERE!! – when you lie on beach sand, you lie on it. It is incomparably easier to manage compared with a bloody reactor. And don’t mention that STUPID mess up at the Bukit Merah ARE – an irrelevant idiocy..
Political games aside, THINK of the harm you do to people!! Get a life – Google ‘Thorium LFTR reactors and have a look at the coming melt-down proof non-plutonium future of energy and help Malaysia avoid the old Uranium LWR technology. That would help redeem you from your current mischievous and damaging evil grafitti ways.!!!!.

More scaremongering from the Opposition. You simply cannot compare Fukushima or Chernobyl to Lynas because the former 2 are nuclear reactors! Note that rare earth elements are not radioactive themselves. The mineral concentrate contains low levels of naturally occurring radioactive material. Based on Lynas’s website a Radiological Impact Assessment was carried out and submitted to all the regulating authorities and it estimated exposures of 0.002mSv/year. International and Malaysian laws allow public exposure of 1.0 mSv/year. The project will have around 500 times less exposure than what is considered safe by international standards. Don’t forget low level radiation exposure is part of our daily life – through sunlight, and electrical appliances – microwaves, handphones, and so on.

1. Radioactive material from the Lynas wastes include thorium and uranium.
2. Avoidable risks versus unavoidable risks. Health hazards from Lynas wastes are avoidable risks. There is also the “dose-response relationship” i.e. stronger exposure (dose)
translates into stronger negative health impact.
3. Abusive rIght-wing rants will not help the pro-Lynas cause.
4. Lynas out of Kuantan and Malaysia !
