Hi HARIS,
that was a very good interview ,you articulate your points very well ,with passion.
throughout d interview i felt that this datuk was a little pro bn,though it was good of him to hear U out ….. until d end ….. when he said he could not remember whether he was at BERSIH2 ….i just don’t know what to say ! I nearly fell out of my chair !

Kudos!! We need a more progressive stance on issues on civil liberties, intercommunial relations, clean government etc. Great respect to you & others on the sacrifice paid and continue to be given. However, to your first part on the judicary, how do you view on the amendments to Kedah’s “Mufti & Fatwa Enactment” (2008)? To your views from Joshua Jamaludin’s to Lina Joy’s case and the changing stance of the judicary. However, now it means that the Mufti can override both the consitution and syariah law. Drawing a more extreme application, even the Sultan of Kedah can be under the sword of a Fatwa taken.
In our mad pursue to oust BN, is PAS a cameleon in the making? I strongly believe in the Malaysian constitution and its safeguard for the general good. In pursue of ousting one evil, we may be choosing a hydra of the deep blue sea.
Again, the plea is that we need a Third Voice in parliment to keep our politicians honest and the division between state & religion. A balance between the existing norm and an opposition that is promising us the moon (but have respresentatives that are absent when major bills are passed even at the first reading, hubris, infighting… Sorry, its not that they are the better 2nd hand pot…. They may be the exact replica or worst!!). I’m not ready to easily give anyone another term or to “test” good governance on us… 50 years is enough!!

well articulated uncle harris! yes, we will (i know i will) vote as a ‘malaysian’ just as you. and heck yes, rpk can talk till he foams in the mouth all he wants. at the end of the day rpk is in manchester while you uncle harris are on the ground to feel the pulse of the rakyat. keep up the good fight.

and may i also add when talking about feeling the pulse of the rakyat, your comment that you are willing to give the current alternative government pakatan a chance nails it. it would be hypocitical of many to say that they will vote for anwar or pakatan rakyat because they are perfect or ideal. many are aware that pakatan rakyat has its short comings. but looking at the shenadigans of the current regime, i think it would be fair to say the rakyat has nothing to lose in giving pakatan a chance, warts and all. one term, two terms, if pakatan to do not perform and bn has genuinely reform, or even if by then there is a third alternative, then we change. the current monopoly of bn will just not do it for the rakyat.

U r right about enpowering d rakyat.
We ,d rakyat , 250,000 of us came together PEACEFULLy on 28.04.2012 to voice our demand for BERSIH,
yesterday 09.05.2012,dnbn withdrew d recently rushed Election Offences Amendment Bill.
This I feel is collective PEOPLE POWER !
However, I am suspicious with d speed of withdrawal, is dnbn trying to rush PRU13 without giving d 8 +3 demands of BERSIH ?
the formation of probe panel headed by Hanif Omar , to me,is an eye-wash.
this panel is going to cook-up excuses for another Ops Lallang, locking away d leaders and make Malaysia into a polce state !
Can UN special rapporteur La Rue be appointed concurrently by the Parliamentary Opposition ,or by d Rakyat (NGOs) through BERSIH ?
Or ,may be through the KING since PDRM comes under our beloved KING?
i feel that we should move fast to either oppose d formation of hanif omar panel or,engage LaRue team quickly to counter this evil, scheming dnbn.
