This is a signal lesson for our politicians and goes to show that if we have done nothing wrong, we should never be afraid of our own shadow. Even Mubarak of Egypt is now in the lurch. I wonder whether he had anything to do with Sadam Hussein’s assassination.
Power is just a trust bestowed by the Almighty to the beholder on a temporary basis. Just be a power of good when you are holding power.
Many of our leaders oin Malaysia have done that and have also been thanked for their contributions to the cause of the nation. Our beloved Bapa Malaysia, Tengku Abdul Rahman, is one of them.
I was in Singapore in the mid-1970s when the wholly Singapore audience gave him a standing ovation.
In this connection, I remember my friend, the late Khir Johari (later Tan Sri), who used to jocularly call Ministers who have resigned from the Cabinet to ask them if they have done anything wrong. There was that touch of the avuncular in the late Khir that was unique Khir.
In my book, the late Khir was a power for good.

his name is mahathir. mohamad kutty is his father’s name. we asians do not address someone by their surname, as far as i know. to keep repeating “kutty” is to emphasize his indian and mamak roots. as far as i know, mahathir was born in malaysia, which makes him an anak bangsa malaysia, whether he likes it or not.
