My fellow Malaysians, we need to take ownership of our nation and we need to unite as one people and in so doing craft the nation that we so desire and in taking it another step forward, let us all gather this 30 August 2012 in showing these politicians that we are united and we are serious of our dream of a new nation for our children and their children to come.
We are almost there, we need everyone available for this. We need you to generate the power of the dream for our nation which we call home. Please be there at the Dataran Merdeka this 308 – Hawkeye.

Police have disallowed the event by citing the Peaceful Assembly Act. Once again, we will be facing off the cops. Tear gas, water cannon, batons will be our lot. Yes, let’s make this Merdeka a memorable event with a sea of yellow. Be there.

Nothing is going to stop us. Each time when I looked at those videos, it reminds me of how cruel this government can be as to brutalize its own citizens who came out in peace just to make their voices heard on what was not right with our country. The poster is a beauty and it suggests, very obviously that we the People of Malaysia treasure our peace that we have helped to foster and safeguard everyday of our lives.. It has become second nature to us, to keep our country that way…
Anyway, it is celebration night, we will together honour the birth of Malaysia as an Independant Nation on that day…..we need free and safe access to our Dataran Merdeka.

Too bad 31st August means nothing to me, being a Sarawakian as it is. Malaysia wasn’t born on 31st August 1957. It was 16th September 1963 Only Malaya was born on that day. Still waiting for the day when I can in good conscience say that I am Malaysian first rather than a Sarawakian.
