Singa Terhormat

Ketua Menteri Melaka Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam berkata, Pakatan Rakyat “dengki dan iri hati” apabila sengaja memperbesar-besarkan isu majlis perkahwinan ‘mega’ anak lelakinya.
Apa you boleh buat kalau orang nak datang? Siapa yang naikkan billboard di bawah ini yang mengandungi “Semua Di jemput Hadhir”dan di iringi bendera BN? Jangan lah anggap raakyat bodoh.
Wahai Ali, awak tak memahami ajaran Al Qur’an ke? Sila rujuk kepada khutbah Imam Masjid al Haaram di Makkah.
Extracts from the Saudi Gazette:
“MAKKAH/MADINA – Sheikh Saleh Bin Mohammed Aal Talib, Imam and Khateeb of the Grand Mosque in Makkah advised Muslims to be mindful of Allah Almighty and fear Him.
In his Friday sermon at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Sheikh Aal Talib said Islam is the religion of justice and fairness (Qist), balance and moderation. It is distinguished by these principles in all aspects and areas of thought and action.
He said that Islam came with a message of justice and equity in all matters concerning human life. Sheikh Aal Talib warned against and denounced a conduct that contradicts its principles – that is, extravagance (Israf). He said extravagance is a shameful trait and a perverse conduct that contravenes Islamic Shariah. The Holy Qur’an has squarely condemned extravagance at no less than 23 places and has deplored a similar conduct known as “Tabdheer” or wastefulness at several other places.
Sheikh Aal Talib said Israf or extravagance is exceeding the permitted limits and whatever is spent or consumed in other than its rightful place and manner is “Tabdheer.” Allah strongly dislikes those who are extravagant and the Qur’an has said in several verses that the Hellfire will be the abode of those who are extravagant. In other verses, Allah said the extravagant people will face eternal doom.
Sheikh Aal Talib quoted the Prophet (peace be upon him) as saying: “Eat, give alms and wear clothes, but without excess (Israf) or arrogance (Makheelah).” He said that Allah described the lot of many nations that were destroyed for being extravagant and their destruction came as a result of their committing excesses. It is a sufficient condemnation that extravagance is deprecated and described as the attribute of the Satans and extravagant people are included among the followers of the Satans. Allah describes the squanderers as brothers of the Satans and the Satan is well known for his ungratefulness (Kufr) to Allah.
Sheikh Aal Talib criticized the lavish spending and great extravagance that is seen in parties and on occasions like wedding parties.
Sheikh Aal Talib said the Arabs during the pre-Islamic (Al-Jahiliyah) period used to spend lavishly and throw banquets in order to show off so that people would talk about that and praise them in their poems, but Allah forbade such extravagant practices. Aal Talib asked: “Has this attribute of the Jahiliyah – showing off and going beyond one’s means to win people’s praise – returned?”
Baik cepat bertaubat la Ali.

Huh! Harris quoting religion? Why didn’t he think of religion when he defaced/ procured others to deface public property?
Pleaselah. If you want to argue at least argue things within your values. Otherwise rather than making a mockery of others, it makes a mockery of you.
Truth be told

Deface public property? Frankly, I thought what is happening is that the aesthetic value of such public property is somehow being enhanced. Quite considerably, if I may say so. More seriously, only someone with the mentality of a village idiot would want to compare Haris’ reminder to Singa Melaka (and others of his ilk) with the act of encouraging people to remind others, in a creative manner as possible, who not to vote for in the next elections. Go read the materials on grafitti art.

Ellese,
I am seriously trying to figure you out. Are you a troll?
It is almost as though you condone Ali Rustam’s public rape of the rakyat and the plundering of resources belonging to the rakyat!
Like I said previously elsewhere, what you call defacement is what I call a social expression for justice and equality.
I am quite happy to agree with you that wilful and senseless damage to public property should be prosecuted but I am curious about your views on the use of public property to promote social justice and equality.
I sincerely hope you are NOT a troll but a fiercely nationalistic Malaysian who cares about the future of Malaysia.

Ellese is a person when comes to discuss on an issue, is unable to do so. Ellese, as usual as always loves to do personal attack. We are taking about Ali, Ellese want to talk about other matters.
Sudahlah, Ellese. Can we focus on the issue. Stop self-glorifying that you are a saint.
Please comment something about Ali, please don’t be shy. This post is dedicate to Ali.

Well said. Like so many Malaysians, I am tired of the greed and arrogance that has become the hallmark of the present government. Except for a handful, intelligence and integrity are largely absent amongst our politicians.
Islam should not be judged by the conduct of the brainless and brutish who claim to be Muslims, whether they reside in Putrajaya or within their own State fiefdoms. We have a Prime Minister who lacks the necessary moral fibre and is too weak to act against those who transgress the boundaries, yet he sees no irony in proclaiming to the world that Malaysia is well on the right track to becoming a model nation. I can only conclude that there must be a “BN Manual of Good Governance”, constantly updated to deal with the threats to our culture and way of life (public rallies, irresponsible websites and bloggers, LGBTs, and of course, those Jews),
And then we have the many Islamic NGOs and Malay rights pressure groups who will lodge police reports at the slightest whiff of an ‘insult to Islam’ , yet maintain an deafening silence in the face of flagrant abuse of power, breathtaking corruption, and imbecilic arrogance. In my own limited understanding, you do not protect the sanctity of Islam by circling the wagons. You do so in your conduct as a decent human being, ever mindful of the guidance stated in the Quran (“This is the Book. In it is guidance sure ….” Al Baqara).

Ellese,
First, the article was obviously not written by Haris, but by ‘Singa Terhormat’,whoever he/she is. Second, I agree that defacing public property is wrong. I would also argue that corruption, the acquisition of great wealth when those you purport to govern live in squalour, institutionalised racism, and attacking your own people when they rally in peace for legitimate reasons – these are far, far worse evils than defacing public property. And while I’m on that subject, I consider Najib’s photo plastered on Monorail trains a form of defacing of public property. Or perhaps this is acceptable defacing?

Ellese, please enlighten us. What exactly does Islam have to say about the so-called defacing of public property? Please quote reference of ayat or hadith. Does not Islam also teach that in the face of oppression you may do certain things to remove the oppression? Please enlighten us on that too, so that you will not be considered to have made a mockery of yourself.

Well, folks, this is getting scary. When I postulated the existence of a ‘BN Manual of Good Governance’ I was being somewhat facetious. Turns out there really is one which almost fits the bill. Attractively entitled ‘Panduan Penjelasan Isu Semasa’ , and very recently produced by the Jabatan Hal Ehwal Khas, it is undoubtedly another fine piece of work from the Information Ministry. Go check it out. After all, we paid for it.

So the criticism here is that what Ali Rustam did is unIslamic? Ostentatiousness? Seriously? that is criticism we are going to use here?
The serious thing about this is that in terms of power in UMNO, Ali Rustam ranks up there in top 3. His attitude is a reflection of state of UMNO/BN – they have NOT CHANGED – the corrupt, rent-seeking, over-entitled, power based on lies right-wingers control UMNO/BN..He and his kinds IS THE PARTY and all the more reason why there is no choice but ABU..
