It is not just ICERD, Malaysia has not ratified the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) (1966), The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), or the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families (Migrant Workers Convention). The drive of PR in their Buku Jingga has no mention of all these for obvious reasons. The political window dressing agenda is obvious so we can mount zillion petitions but it ends in a petition without the real intention of the political heroes without addressing the root cause. I do applaud the effort taken by group and hopefully they are successful in their venture.
