Yup, the walk’s been cancelled.
Was planning to be there.
Was looking forward to taking a slow leisurely stroll down Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and take in how modernity has been blended with pre-war architecture?
Know what I mean?
Don’t know about you, but it’s been ages for me.
Just can’t stand the traffic jam there on weekdays.
Okay, so there’s no walk. Since I’m going to be in KL anyway, I’ll probably still just take that stroll this Sunday.
Yup, early enough to avoid the Sunday shopping crowd.
Know what I mean?
You KLites ought to know. Would 8am be early enough to avoid the Sunday shopping crowd?
Do let me know.

Duh….. of course Haris.
I know what you mean. Last Monday, after my class I went strolling from M Jamek LRT station to the Central Market. I took the path straight towards the Bar Council.
As I walk, I took a close look at Masjid Jamek. A small structure, with bricks, and marble floors. There were ppl in there lying on the floor, dunno who they are.
I realised that, if i were to ever recommend to a tourist where to go, I would ask them to go to Masjid Jamek area first. It’s the cultural centre of KL, fusion of Malay (architecture, mosque), Indian (mamak) and Chinese (Petaling street), to name a few.
Beyond central market, you have the Chinese Assembly hall, the KTM station, the Daya Bumi building. Whenever I’m at the P Seni Lrt station, I would take in the panoramic view of the KTM station and daya bumi altogether.
Sadly I noticed, the way new buildings are built, it’s either too ultra-modern (like the twin tower) or middle-eastern (putrajaya). I’m not sure, it seems that the Malay architecture is giving up to arabisation.
Anyway, enjoy your stroll 🙂

Human Rights Walk? Talk? Thought?
=================================
Last two years Walks to remind
Human Rights be raised and bright.
No one care if it should be well defined!
A day to memorize!
This years Human Rights been torn
with Constitution fold-up by Power
untouched by the Bar!
Many know Human Rights are stuck and deprived!
It is dark to remind
so something at night??
And Human Rights must be precise!
Continue with Candle Lights!
along the River to see lights
join in where it stuck
or a free flow with joy!!
Think of Human Rights
are equalities among partners
Constitution and Policemen
Clients and lawyers
People and Government
Buyers and sellers
Consumers and Manufacturers
House Buyers and Developers
Residents and Councilors
………..
without the former, no latter!!
Send our hope with a small candle on a leave to float!
Anywhere by the river with small water flow!!
BAR HAS LOST THE TRAIL!!
Lit the Dark to tell where it stuck
or nice flow to enjoy!!
See BAR next year
if Human Rights restored!
Satellite the River through Sogo
http://www.4321.co.il/property/adxtra.asp?ad=22490
from North to South it will flow
I suppose!!
8/12 – Saturday Night??

good luck haris. make sure no stones are thrown even when provoked by the authorities. lest, trump up charges may be levied against you for attempted murder. no bail and in lock up until proven innocent.
more tolerant and more democratic space under this regime? to me, no different from the murderous regime in Burma except that dictatorship is under guise of law.
to all marginalised malaysians ( which include hindraf members), fight on for a good cause.
another candle lighting for the 31 hindraf members, haris?
i will join you this round in Bukit Damansara.
Stones thrown?
By whom?
Me? I’m just off for a morning stroll.
Candle lighting?
You organise and let me know where and when

How I wish to join you all for a joyous sunday morning stroll. I like the building around there very much, couldn’t get enough of the structure and the beauty of it.
Wish you have a good time:)

“Pertubuhan Kebajikan Dakwah dan Islamiah (Pekida) menafikan bahawa pertubuhan tersebut merancang untuk mengadakan perhimpunan orang Melayu di kawasan Kampung Baru di ibu negara pada 16 Disember ini.”
You think we should join them?
After all these are fellow Malaysians and if they are in need I think we ought to share their troubles! And more importntly they got to know that they don’t have to walk alone!

Been talking to neighbours about amendment to extend Rashid’s retirement plus this Friday 9.30pm appointment. Looks like I got 1 supporter joining me. One more I will find out later. Hope to draft them int PJ Utara People’s Parliament.
May join you for that nice stroll. Only thing is, got into long email exchange about Jacqueline Ann Surin’s article on BERSIH march for free and fair election. I am told I am a novice at this kind of stuff. Got a bit discouraged. Perhaps she is right. I should leave such stuff to professional to her and Jacqueline and concentrate on what I am good at. I am not good at such stuff. Maybe a good thing as even without all this, I already cannot finish what I want to do at the end of the day every day.

I think there will be far and few people want to take a stroll this December. Suddenly, they will be busy buying uniform for their children, making promised vacation, and as usual they will just whine saying “nothing is going to changelah why waste time”

Human Rights forfeited!!
========================
Committee & Edmund’s efforts, no deny!
Meeting in Council remains public and could be nailed!!
Get the permit to show
how they can “kill” a Rights!
The walk or the “Celebration” is Right(s) & Bright!
Authority tarnished the Rights!
Let it DIE
to show how it is deprived!
Let Malaysia be out of the Celebration
to show it CANNOT BE CELEBRATED
when Authority hammered with their permit “Rights”!
Let leaflet of UN Human Rights be pick-up from the Council
to tell what are Human Rights!
Nothing to celebrate but remind!!
TELL THE WORLD
THAT THE AUTHORITY STOPPED THE CELEBRATION by not issuing
Permit
if they dare to do it twice!!
————-
This is a kind of Silent Protest!
————-
NO ONE CAN CELEBRATE HUMAN RIGHTS as authority overrides!!

any walk will be a walk to prison. reading all the propaganda and the injustices taking place makes me feel angry but at the same time helpless.we have now the govt taking a confrontational stand in resolving problems but it is only multiplying our problems.lacking in empathy, tolerance and understanding sums up the leaders we have in power

I think its more like old-timers who only shopped in Jln TAR, want to go back shopping there. Well, if the Bukit Bintang shoppers want to protest we old timers trying hard to lend a hand to Jln TAR businesses, its too bad mate. Coliseum only exists in Jln TAR.

That will be a good day for a morning stroll. I may try to invite Lingam and Fairuz for some light exercise too. Now that Fairuz is retired, no one can fault him for walking with us. Less strenuous than a game of badminton anyway. I’m sure our Jln Tuanku Abdul Rahman is more scenic than some NZ harbour place. Hope to bump into you guys at 8.

I HAVE MORE REASONS TO WALK or MARCH!!
======================================
Freedom is a misleading word
Rights is more appropriate when fairness or Equalities must work!
Rights and obligations both to be alert!
Rights partner with Obligations
Constitution with Policemen
Clients with lawyers
People with Government
Buyers with sellers
Consumers with Manufacturers, or Service Providers
House Buyers and Developers
Residents and Councilors
……
No former, no latter!!
I will come Sunday
to find my lawyer!
A lawyer brave to sue the judge
but not taking the interest of client at large
Taking payment but sitting and ignoring reminders several month passed!
Not attending court many times right at the start!
Without the intervention of Bar and court like a star!
Putting Client in the Dark!
Surely he cannot fight for Human Rights
so only Freedom to Assembly if he dare to be a part!
If he is not in,
I will find two she!
who misled counterclaim to be done after amendment made!
who refused to get Suggest Statement of facts & issues even pleadings made!
distorting pleading and get discharged with false allegations
challenging “see you in court if you not happy”!
If she is not in,
I will find another he
who refused giving opinion even after case management
leaving defense holes for Plaintiff’s arguments!
If he is not,
I will find again a he
who denied the obligation of the Developer to apply Consent
to make MOT valid and registrable
charging a job of Developer’s
but no application to see after year!
When complain to Bar
declared Defamation for Million RM to talk!
If he is not in,
another he from the BAR
who instigate Respondent to object explanation to Complainant!
He may not be in as was told he is a Judge somewhere!
If he is not in,
another he from DB
who followed Respondent objection not to provide Explanation to Complainant!
Discharging complaint without explanation, hearing or investigation.
Board minutes said to come but years passed!
How many Rights I have to fight
to see even Rights and Obligations from Lawyers, Bar and court!
They are All one Basic Rights – Client or Consumer Rights!
No need to assembly, if Rights is Right without numbers!!
