God : ‘Cry unto Allah, or cry unto the Beneficent, unto whichsoever ye cry, His are the most beautiful names. And thou be not loud-voiced in thy worship nor yet silent therein, but follow a way between’ – Surah 17 verse 110 of the Holy Qur’an as translated by Pickthall.

Wisdom under Tests!!
======================
A government for ALL
must have respects for ALL to gain respects from ALL!
UNMO never bother they are subjected to test
whenever they put others to test!
Or, their capacity to take ALL negatively said!
Freedom of Religion
spoiled when UNMO stopped muslim or non-muslim to choose their Religion.
Freedom of Expression
spoiled when people cannot express even in a Song
on the general situation that had gone wrong!
Freedom of Assembly
only UNMO can rally and not others to go.
Even Allah not be used by ALL but muslim!
Then, should car be checked if Chinese or Buddhist
when AMITUOFO on board!
Is Allah, an Arabic word for God?
Or, Allah, the God for the Universe, in Quoran?
So, Allah a copyright of Muslim
or, Allah a God for Muslim and not the Universe?
UNMO,
Government is subjected to test and not to challenge with a test!!
Wisdom starts before any test!!
Or, Wisdom under tested not the Test!!

Haris,
This is the second time this same subject matter has been visited since Islam Hadari came upon this earth. First was the word Allah in the Iban Bible. But Allah is not even Malay. Arabic, the language of the Arabs gives the name of Allah. But the Arabs are not complaining that their fellow Christian Arabs also look upon Allah when facing the cross in their churches.
This is obviously a very Malay problem and a very Malay insecurity that really is non-existent in the first place.
Paul,
I don’t think it is a Malay problem.
It is a Malay leadership problem.

Who is he that believes that he speaks for God the Highest by denying the right of everyone to call upon God Himself?
God is the God of all, be it He is known as Allah to the Muslims.

Malay at the beginning not even Muslim. The Islam originated from Middle East. So before Malay convert to Islam, who is their God? How they call their God as? “Tuhan”? It certainly not “Allah”. So what’s the fuss of asking Christian not to call God as “Allah” now?
Malay does not equal Muslim. Muslim does not equal Malay. Don’t try to make Malay equal Muslim!
If anyone insulting Malay, this does not mean they insult Muslim. It is Malay’s ego.
May God forgive our Malaysian Muslim minister’s ego. Show them mercy so that they will see their own stupidity and start to treat You as almighty. Save the country by asking them to voluntarily step down and let the most capable to lead. Amen.

yes paul, as haris pointed out this is not a malay problem but malay leadership problem… or i’d rather say UMNO controlled government problem. yes UMNO gomen is very insecure.
stupid gomen lah. by this action of theirs only goes to show they don’t trust their own fellow muslims. looks like because of UMNO being insecure, they insult their own fellow muslims!
apart from the use of the word allah, the gomen also picked on the use of bahasa for the herald’s publication. i thought we are encourage to use bahasa? why can’t the herald use bahasa now? oh, because the gomen so scared muslim read already ah will convert to christianity. haha. no confidence too.

Badawi got very angry because according to him “a blatant lie” was said. O.k. we agree. But don’t need to get so angry la.
Now hardly 3 years or so has gone by since he last put to bed this debate on the Christians calling upon God “Allah”! Now one of his men brings this back again to confront him with just before Christmas.
What gives? I thought Abdullah Badawi is Commander in Chief here. Or am I wrong? Obviously Badawi knows, after all to be Prime Minister, he is stopped from saying that he is stupid or an idiot and does not see the inference, that this Che Din character has just insubordinated his Prime Minister. Like a War Lord, Che Din is either testing waters or he is just challenging Badawi to reverse this decision. Either way Badawi is dead.
Reverse the decision, he is not Muslim enough. abide by the decision, then he proves Badawi to be a flip-flop Prime Minister. I guess the UMNO meeting last week where the man with the two Mohammads in his name was leading must have sounded no different from the call at about 1969 for the over throw of Tunku Abdul Rahman. Except this time it might seem like Badawi’s hold on UMNO might just be unfolding.
And Haris, yes its made to sound mroe like the Malay leadership problem….or do they just look upon it as a photo/attention/mischievious opportunity? After all when you are from the BN Government or an UMNO member you just can do no wrong, so to hell with being nice just a few days before Christmas.

.
The word is not COPYRIGHTED nor can anyone do so in their whim and fancy.
If you look further than you won’t be surprised to note that this is nothing but just another govt. scripted show – equation to gain votes for the coming election.
Race and religion issues – in recent memory – like the one currently played in sabah are just for that purpose. This govt. is seriously out of touch and their endeavor of pursuing power by any means in justifying the ends, detrimental to the well being of the nation don’t work anymore and unfortunately they are blind to it.
This is the kind of games – racial and religious one from umno – the public needs to counter, thwart and restrict, vehemently from ever getting rooted.
Hope the public are not too apathetic into perceiving that this is only a “small religious matter” and doesn’t give a hoot about it as it has a gigantuan implication in the long run.
You all can start by using word as frequently as possible…… pass the words around.
This is the kind of bozo policies the people need to stymy.

‘Allah’ (Arabic: AllÄh) is the standard Arabic language word for “God”, nothing more, nothing less.
In Bahasa Malaysia the standard word for God is ‘Tuhan’.
The term Allah, is most likely derived from a contraction of the Arabic article al + ilÄh “deity, god” to al-lÄh meaning “the [sole] deity, God” (ho theos monos); another theory traces the etymology of the word to the Aramaic AlÄhÄ.
While the term Allah is best known in the West for its use by Muslims as a reference to God *, it is used by Arabic-language-speakers of all Abrahamic faiths, including Christians and Jews in reference to “God”.
The term Allah was also used by pagan Meccans as a reference to the creator-god, possibly the supreme deity in pre-Islamic Arabia.
Note:* This Western misguided belief is also held by some uneducated persons in Malaysia, such as Malaysian Deputy Internal Security Minister Johari Baharum.
The concepts associated with the term Allah (as a deity) though differed from tradition to tradition.
In pre-Islamic Arabia, Allah was not the sole divinity, had associates and companions, sons and daughters. There was also a kind of kinship of between Allah and the jinn (spirits).
In Islam, Allah is the pivotal essence of the Muslim faith, Allah is only, the one God, all-merciful and omnipotent, transcendent creator of the universe, and the judge of humankind.
The Arabic-language-speaking Christians today use other words besides Allah for ‘God’ other than ‘Allah’, they for example use terms AllÄh al-ab meaning God the Father, AllÄh al-ibn means God the Son, and AllÄh al-ruh al ghodus meaning God the Holy Spirit.
There are both similarities and differences between the concept of God as portrayed in the Qur’an and the Hebrew Bible (Toarh). The Torah and the Qur’an however both reject the Trinitarian (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost) conception of God as three persons in one substance.
(Information sourced from Wikipedia and elsewhere.)
God=Allah=Tuhan, etc. you can use such terms as you like, none is exclusive or reserved for use by any particular religion or belief.
So Johari, what are you creating unnecessary disharmony for?
Perhaps for a few UMNO gold stars?

I was asking Haris about this cryptic posting today.
*OK lah, just got back from Mars and I was curious*
Apparently, it was referring to what J.B. said.
Anywayz, we both agreed on one thing.
How does a wannabe muslim pronounce the ‘dua kalimah syahadah’ in order to become a muslim if ‘Allah’ cannot not part of the proclamation?
Kinda messy, ain’t it. Not knowing whether you are or you’re not a muslim just because a pipsqueak UMNO politician says so. Hallo, JAKIM approved kah? What’s next? Must have Hadhari-compliant sticker issued by the Hadhari head honcho himself or what. Wasn’t he the same bloke who fast-tracked his new wife as an UMNO member recently and ALL in UMNO bowed in agreement.
Ipso facto, it is an UMNO leadership problem.. and they’re dumping their crap onto ALL of us, malays included.

Haris,
Great to see you yesterday.
It is a UMNO-Malay leadership problem. They are just being bloody minded and petty. To survive politically, they must now depend on draconian laws to put down the opposition, civil society and individuals. To me, legitimacy depends on performance.
We have to start looking at alternatives.
