I’ve had e-mails from Kelana Jaya registered voters asking this time and again.
Why Loh Gwo-Burne?
He was unheard of until just before the Royal Commission proceedings began.
There’s talk now about giving a protest vote to the independent, Billi Lim!
Have we missed something?
Pray,tell, PKR.

Haris,
I think DSAI promised him a seat in this election for agreeing to testify at the RCI. If that is the case, he must tell the truth to the public. It is a definite disappointment

I can understand the concerns of voters in Kelana Jaya. But we are at crossroads to deny BN their two third majority. Can we have Haris instead of Loh? It is not happening.
Give Loh a chance. I believe he could be trusted. Just think, he was instrumental in exposing Lingam and if he really he could have made millions from those who wanted him denying the evidences he didn’t. So in some way he is incorruptible.
Isn’t this one of most important quality we Malaysians longing for in politicians?

Haris,
It would be good if the Kelana Jaya residents can share with us their reasons for not choosing to support MCA’s Lee Hwa Beng and to clue us in as why the incumbent, MCA’s Loh Seng Kok, was dropped.
Maybe the locals are aware of some saving graces to Lee that we outsiders are ignorant of. In critical times like this, there are more to things than meet the eye. We need more info.
However, I would caution commentators to write judiciously too (nothing libellous, ok). Thanks.
I’m similarly more than curious about Kelana Jaya. PKR’s choice of the unknown young man — whatever the conspiracy theories bandied about behind the party’s decision — is to me very much akin to throwing away the seat.

The MAIN OBJECTIVE(MATLAMAT UTAMA) is we must deny BN at whatever cost. Whoever stand as a candidate does it matter? It is the Manifesto of PKR under Anwar that should be the basis of casting our votes.
Why not Loh? At least he is willing to risk his life to reveal the Linggam tape and stand for justice against our corrupted judiciary system managed by corrupted BN leadership.
Also, at least Mr Loh presented himself on nomination day unlike some idiot who went missing on nomination day and let the corrupted BN win the seat unopposed.
Barisan Rakyat must unite at whatever cost to SAY NO to corrupt BN government.

Why, why, why are we questioning the choice of candidate at this stage ? Who then should come forward to contest this seat ? Why question PKR now ? What success did this blog had in attempting to identify suitable candidate for Kelana Jaya ? Why those who questioned now did not have the guts to come forward to offer themselves as candidates ? It needs courage, conviction and resources to run in an election like this. Are we here attempting to deny BN a bigger majority or to squabble over the candidate ? On one hand we call for Change. On the other hand we attempt to scuttle the Opposition’s chances.
Those not happy can vote whoever they want. It’s their right no one questions. Just don’t pretend that you are with Barisan Rakyat when you are not.
Harris, I would say you should be wary of saboteurs.

Some even emphasizing any Opposition even if he/she is a idiot!!
Some Blog trying to promote Candidates with someone more popular known to promote the Candidates with some nice words but without any references to support!!
Should this culture be promoted??
Party with obvious hidden strategy, misleading Voters should be given a blow, when there are option with equal or even better Individual!!
Ask PKR to provide more background of Loh and hope Billi Lim will provide his for fair competition to Voters as well as if he will endorse People’s Voice and Declaration!

I personally feel votes should not be wasted by giving protest votes to Billi Lim. What can we get from such move anyway?
So, it is better to vote for Loh Gwo-Burne as our main objective is to deny 2/3 majority. We should not be affected by our emotion. I don’t think DSAI promised Loh a seat for testifying at RCI. What is the point of this if a win is not guaranteed?
So, our votes should still go to Loh. Who knows DSAI will stand for by-election there?

Haris,
He was chosen perhaps :
to send message that people like him are needed who wasn’t afraid to expose corruptions?
to send message to public that people like him are needed to fight corruptions, help save the rotten judiciary
It doesn’t matter who you are as long as you have the “INHERENT GOOD QUALITY” than he should be a good shiny example for other youth to follow especially in this country where fine people seem to be nowhere to be found.
With this quality do you not suppose that he might give BR a fine publicity?
There is no need for second guessing here at this moment I guess.

I too am bewildered by PKR’s placement of Mr. Lwo as a candidate at Kelana Jaya…what does DSAI think that this move will achieve? I’m quite sure the majority of people there won’t vote for him as no one had heard of before the RCI.

Whilst I share the overwhelming desire to deny BN the two-thirds majority (plus more, I hope), it’s a mockery of the process if anyone will do. It is also not in line with the aspiration of Barisan Rakyat.
Kelana Jayanese need to hear from Anwar Ibrahim/PKR why they have been given Loh the opportunity to contest – a parliamentary seat no less.
Why will Loh make a good MP? He has no political track record to speak of and his claim to fame thus far is that he had accompanied his rich father to Lingam’s house and, fortuitously for Malaysians, was so bored to death he decided to shoot the ‘correct correct correct’ video.
Oops! I must not forget that Loh also knows how to Burn(e) the video to CD. But, hey, many 10-year olds could do that too.
Perhaps PKR thinks BN’s Lee Hwa Beng, with a strong record in Subang Jaya, is just too much for any opposition candidate and thus letting Loh contest is an ideal quid pro quo. This will not go down well for PKR, however, because people are not stupid.
If Billi is the better of two devils, the vote should be for Billi.

The icon of a Malaysian Hero! Zakaria Deros or Loh? Mohd Mohd Taib or Loh? Keris weilding Khairy and Hishamuddin or Loh?
Well, I think Loh has his usefulness. Maybe he can be used to help redefine for the masses who the iconic Malaysian Hero should be!
But then again he could be a slime ball who became an accidental hero. After all he did not exactly admit to releasing the video, did he? He may have made the video and could have kept it to use at a later date for personal benefit. But then someone else may have released it ..and so far as the video is concerned that would be the last wave it issues. Might as well ride it!

Folks, nomination day is over and the real battle has begun. In view of the aim to deprive BN of its 2/3 majority, may I suggest that any appraisal and ‘whys’ be left until after the election, rather than being disunited over PKR’s decision.
I’m a N:Subang Jaya/P:Kelana Jaya voter and my vote goes to Loh Gwo-Burne for the following reasons :-
1) He’s under the Barisan Rakyat banner.
2) Whatever his motivations for the video recording may be, I concede that not many people would have the guts to do what he did, that is to put his life out on the line. Somehow, I do recognize his immense contribution, without which most of us would still be in the dark in relation to our judiciary, and without any foreseeable remedy. Some signs of patriotism and righteousness from this young man will do just fine.
3) The opponent Lee Hwa Beng is no easy meat in Subang Jaya/Kelana Jaya even if a strong candidate from PKR were to take him on. Looking into the future, if Loh Gwo-Burne really does have the righteousness and politics in him, this could just be his baptism of fire. Let’s hope for the best.

Dear Barisan Rakyat Supporters,
I understand – indeed, feel deeply – what you are saying. Probably more than anyone else in PKR, since I was slated to be a candidate in PJS, and yet someone else was chosen to be the candidate.
Nevertheless, I believe that we should be very clear about our main objectives, not only in this general elections, but overall for Malaysia and the future of its Rakyat.
Whatever the reasons may be, the PKR leadership has decided that Loh is the best candidate for Kelana Jaya. Disappointing as it may be, in light of our (Malaysians) overall objectives (in my mind, it should be democracy, unity, peace and prosperity), we must see that supporting PKR makes more sense than supporting a novelty independent candidate.
This is my humle personal opinion.
Thank you.
Peace,

The main objective is to deny BN 2/3 no matter what’s the cost, and if PKR chose to offer a Goat as a candidate, we vote for the Goat, because, after all, isn’t the main objective is to deny the 2/3 ?
See, I don’t buy the argument above either because I always thought, the main objective is to have an MP who represents the people and not toe the party line, any party for that matter.
They had plenty of time to make it known. In TPP, there was Get an MP initiative which was started few months back. I believe opposition parties were also engged and urged to let us know the candidates so that we, the voters, will not be left wondering and make up our mind on the eleventh hour.
Now, who is this guy? As an ordinary member of the public, I only knew him due to the RCI. Apologies for being a simple member of public and not carrying out full blown research to find out all the details about him right away when it was made known that he is the one who made the recording..
Oh wait a minute, I don’t have to apologise for that, why should I research him anyway?
Oh right, because he is the one who made the recording, it goes without saying that simple member of the public must help to send him to the parliament. How could I have not known that? Right, it’s my mistake.
For all the talk about good quality and integrity, forgive me for being the simple member of public again, but I’m quite skeptical and this is akin to asking me to follow blind faith, which, well, a lot of simple member of public like me might just do,as they did all these 50 years for BN, but somehow I beg to differ.
One might say I’m making statements or passing out judgements without really knowing the person.
Exactly my point, I don’t know him and until about 2 days ago, I didn’t have any reasons to and now I’m being asked to place my trust and send him to parliament because someone in PKR decided that they are gonna field him and since I’m a simple member of the public who feels duty bound to deny the 2/3 to the BN, I should go out and vote for any Tom, Dick and Harry or a Goat for that matter. Oh and I have to do this all in good faith because, they know what’s best.
They had the time and were engaged to make it known to simple member of public like me about whom they are gonna field, so that perhaps I wouldn’t be making statements like this over here, but well, they know what’s best for me and if they say this is the man, then I should accept it unquestioningly, after all, I gotta have some faith.
Oh ya, I’m also hearing talks about by-election later.. But I thought the seat has not even been contested yet..
Oh right, they know whats best.
Its not so much about the candidate, its the manner by which it is handled. The arrogance and the approach which reeks of what I would say, confidence which is not rightfully theirs yet, that regardless of who they offer, the voters with conscience will go out and vote.
Well, they know whats best.

while our main objective is to deny BN the 2/3 majority, perhaps we should not forget our principles too. vote for the candidate, not the party. so if the opposition field some very unknown rookie, or some very ‘bad hat’, are we still going to vote for opposition? i guess it’s up to us individuals… up to our conscience. i’m sorry to say that though i believe this is the correct way, but due to my dissatisfaction and anger at BN, i always vote for the party (opposition!) and never bother to look at the candidates (too bad eh! i don’t practice what i preach. heh!).
btw haris, the ‘say no to BN’ logo you have does not show the dacing. some people might wonder what BN stands for and some illiterate people might only know when seeing the dacing. i have a ‘say no to BN’ logo with the words and the dacing on my sidebar (which i stole from some website – forgot which).

There are alot of sceptics that have already thrown in the towel before even the first blow is exchanged.
Yes, you have an unknown contesting, so what? What do you want, Tian Chua or Datin Wan Azizah to stand in the constitutency? How many Tian Chuas or Wan Azizahs are around? I know you guys felt let down because you did not get “flavour of the day” choice but that is life.
Look at the bigger picture and give the benefit of the doubt to the new guy. He may not be the one you wanted, but just don’t pass judgment before the case is heard. How are we going to have new blood into the system when everyone only want the established ones?
This is a test of your political maturity.

Loh has made a monumental contribution to the country, the Judiciary and our children’s future. Imagine going to the courts with scums sitting on the bench?
His contribution may redeem the Judiciary’s image.
Loh stuck out his neck for Truth. Do you think MCA contribution of clearing up clogged drains is more worthy than what Loh has done?
For this alone he needs our solid support with no reservations. No ifs and buts.
Do you think any MCA leader or candidate who have done what Loh did?

Basic Rights and procedures been abused so we lost our normal & Rightful tracks!
A Clean & Fair Election should be provided by EC so Voters and Candidates have time to mutual understand.
But this basis been abused and dragged by opportunists to go their ways!!
With the Flip-Flop EC going out of the Rules with Parachuting Candidates, the traps had gone even bigger!
An EC to serve has become a EC to manipulate given opportunities to more abnormalities!
A great number of Malaysian been dragged into the waves of GE because Bersih (somewhat lead by DSAI) provoked Fair & Clean GE then into the wave of Vote Oppositions no matter what??
Up to now, we should understand why? As PKR has less ready Candidates to fill!!
Without a Fair & Clean GE, GE is a JOKE!
And, GE has gone into the latter direction without the basic to go!!
Taking some lawyers are working on the basic.
For the latter, please get details of Billi and if he would endorse People’s declaration and a bit of his own thinking of how to go around!
Same from Loh!
After that PP must try to help Voters to analyze, this is what is the job of PP and why Voters will come to PP!
For Lee Hwa Beng, I have done my best to analyze with references reachable to everyone on what he had done and not because he is Lee Hwa Beng – a proven record that he had not done his job and even manipulating through his time in MPPJ & MPSJ!
If People can blindly support such a guy, any Hope?
If People do not take KNOWING WHAT TO CHOOSE then WHO TO CHOOSE, PP is really to guide!!
Even after GE, if Opposition does win the chance to change!!
Step of analyze is unavoidable, now and then!!
AGAIN, STRIKE OUT BN. BUT WHEN CONDITIONS ALLOW, ALSO LEAD VOTERS WITH A RATIONAL MIND!!

I think, we the voters must NOT forget and be distracted the bigger objective ie deny BN the 2/3 majority therefore Country/People/Party interests comes first and foremost.
Trash out the whys later, please remain focus on the OBJECTIVE.
Whatever doubts the Kelana Jayans might have on him, I think we need to credit him with the courage to come forward to set things right and also have the guts to stand in the GE.

Let us just vote for them – they can’t be worse than BN puppets in the Parliament.

Dear All,
I am not from Kelana Jaya but what goes on there and every other constituency is the rakyat’s business.
Firstly, not every constituency can have a candidate with established credentials. Don’t forget that even established candidates began as first-timers. And first-timers can find delivering their first speeches formidable, and the first run gruelling. But if they stay the course, over the years, they will mature into credible and even incredible Yang Berkhidmats.
Secondly, we are out to defeat BN. So the focus has to be on Billie or Loh. THERE IS NO OTHER CHOICE. You can use this space to argue all you want but it is a done thing – Billie or Loh. If I were a KJaya member, I’d go for Loh for the following reasons:
(a) No matter what the hidden/personal/ self-gratifying reason may be for contesting, he already has a track record, people. He came back to testify, he came back to expose what needed to be exposed. Remember, he could have chosen to stay away from it all.
I call that accountability. I call that taking responsibility. I call that stepping up to the demand of the moment.
(b) So he wins and does a disastrous job of being an MP? Take him to task, your yang berkhidmat, put him on the carpet and finally, if he does not learn, sack him at the next elections.
Billie? He garnered less votes in 2004 than in 1999. He is the role model for his failure theory – ‘dare to fail’ We can’t afford that kind of thinking in this round of elections.
Bottomline: Will you give Loh a chance? After all, you gave BN so many chances. Where did that get us?
If not the party, then the man? MCA’s Lee Hwa Beng then?
Question: Did you hear his voice when BN wanted to extend Fairus’s tenure? Did he speak on your behalf when you called for Rashid’s term to be terminated? Has he ever dernouced the ISA? People, where was he? Towing the party line.
I asked a high-ranking MCA guy once why party members had to vote the party line and not according to their conscience.
His answer was simple but frightening : ‘Our taiko is UMNO,’ he replied.
I rest my case.

PKR “A NEW DAWN FOR MALAYSIA”
To my Chinese & Indian brothers, have you read the PKR manifesto just released by Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim ? IS THIS MANIFESTO NOT WHAT WE IN THE MINORITY OF MALAYSIAN SOCIETY BEEN WAITING FOR THE LAST 50 YEARS ? We have at last FOUND A TRUE MALAYSIAN LEADER, who by the manifesto that he has put out for this election solemnly STANDS his ground that Malaysia has been retarded by the NEP policy that was extorted by UMNO and by the complicity of the MCA & MIC the two parties that have SOLD OUT our Chinese & Indian RIGHTS.
Today we see the rise of a true son of Malaysia, Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN ALL OF 50 YEARS OF MALAYSIAN INDEPENDENCE THAT A MALAY LEADER OF DATO SERI’S STANDING AND STATURE WHO HAS COME OUT AND SAID IN PLAIN & COURAGEOUS WORDS THAT UMNO’S NEW ECONOMIC POLICY IS AS ARCHAIC AND NON PRODUCTIVE AS THE EXTINCT DINAUSAURS. This is the first time in all of our brief history that a leader of Dato Seri’s stature who has the courageous to utter that FORBIDDEN WORDS “No more RACE POLITICS “; and I say that these words from dato Seri Anwar “cracks the air like the boom of a canon”. Dear Chinese & Indians we must all (including SAMY VELLO & THAT OKT) must vote for Dato Anwar.
The most important words in his manifesto is his promise that MALAYSIAN LAW MUST BE ENFORCED AND ALL CONTRACTS WILL BE ENFORCED ACCORDING TO LAW. This as I had argued in my past posts is the most important PROMISE because as I have tried to bring to public attention the criminalities of Judge Zainon binti Mohd. Ali vis a vis my wife’s petition WHICH JUDGE ZAINON BINTI MOHD. ALI HAD TRIED TO STRIKE OUT AND SHE THOUGHT THAT SHE HAD STRUCK OUT BUT BECAUSE SHE IS SO ILLETERATE IN THE LAWS THAT IN TRUTH SHE FAILED TO EFFECT WHAT SHE WANTED TO DO (ie. TO STRIKE OUT MY WIFE’S PETITION). She failed and she does not know why she had failed. This is the incompetence of a Malaysian judge of the highest court, THE MALAYSIAN COURT OF APPEAL. My wife’s petition is still alive but it has been put in a state of comatose because the judges of Malaysia do not know that it is still a live Petition and biggest laugh of all is that my wife’s solicitors M/s Lim & Hoh of Ming Building of Jalan Bukit Nanas, KL is in complicity acting with Judge Zainon binti Mohd. Ali to BURY MY WIFE’S PETITION. THE MALAYSIAN JUDICIARY & MALAYSIAN BAR COUNCIL are all WHAT JOKES ARE MADE OF.
There cannot be a modern society if the laws of that society is not enforced and in Malaysia you can buy a positive decision by bribes and what can you say of that society ? I am convinced that Dato Seri has gone through very profound philosophical SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH while he languished in PRISON on trumped up charges and UNJUSTLY CONVICTED BY A CORRUPT COURT AND BY JUDGES WHO ARE UNETHICAL AND IMMORAL.
Dear Chinese & Indian brothers, I say to you to vote in one block all out Chinese & Indian votes for the opposition and it does not matter that you vote for PAS, DAP or Keadilan. Vote opposition my dear Chinese & Indina brothers.
Yap,
Er, you mean vote Barisan Rakyat?
