At 11.30 this morning I attended my polling centre in PJ Selatan.
Discovered that the ballot papers were in fact serialised, notwithstanding earlier reports to the contrary. Was actually pleased about this because, personally, I had reservations about unserialised ballot papers.
Asked the election officer who issued me the ballot papers to explain this.
He said that all ballot papers were in fact serialised but that no notation was made on the list of voters. Asked him to show me his list and he obliged. Asked to see the other pages on the list to ascertain that there were no notations of serial numbers against the names of other voters. Again, he obliged.
Must have been the BERSIH cap that I had on!
Needless to say that my vote went to

Bro Haris,
Whatever the outcome may be when the results are out, we salute you, RPK, and all the other bloggers for initiating this Barisan Rakyat concept and I tell you it worked like magic. We should continue to apply pressure on the cheats with more BERSIH campaigns immediately after the new government is formed. 4 years on, we should have a formidable outfit that would at least pressure the opposition parties to work together as a team rather than throwing their tantrums like a bunch of “spoit brats”. Future voters must be educated not to fear PAS or DAP but to accept them as brothers and sisters. We can also organise a registration campaign to get as many eligible voters to register for the 13th GE. There are more than 1 million of such potentials out there who needs a bit more push and they will be there, Im sure.

Dear Haris,
THANK YOU!
Hope Springs Eternal, they say. You believed and you embodied. Your fervour dragged and pushed us along.
The concept of the People’s Parliament, a virtual watchdog, has to be a first in blogdom. Perhaps even in cyberworld.
Whatever the outcome of this historic GE, the presence of PP is surely a source of confidence and comfort to right-minded citizens of Malaysia.

Dear Haris,
I hope fellow Malaysians could be cautioned to keep their celebrating on the Internet — at their favourite spaces. Outside would be too risky outside. The losing side, in a desperate bid, might just try to instigate another may69. We know that they are that unscrupulous and they have the money and the Mat Rempits at their disposal.

Well done Barisan Rakyat. You have spoken vey loudly. bn has to make do with a simple majority. What a slam dunk! Not only that they lost Penang, Kelantan, Kedah, Selangor and nearly lost Terengganu. 4 cabinet ministers lost. More tsunamis coming. Thank you everyone who made the difference. The rest are invited to join the best ride ever into the future. Praise God.

A personal ‘Thank you’ for all your hard work and oratory skills in rousing the people’s movement across the nation, Haris. Things that need to be done now is to unite the three winning opposition parties, to form a realistic and credible opposition voice in Parliament, give up on the petty squablings, and clean up the Electoral Roll once and for all.

Thank you, GOD, for bringing about change, for using the bloggers to blaze an amazing election campaign through cyberspace and on solid earth, and for giving the opposition parties endorsing Barisan Rakyat the wisdom, the courage and the humility to recognise they had to unite for a common cause or face failure.
Thank you, Haris, for giving all of us ‘The People’s Parliament’, a wonderful educational vehicle through which we not only learnt from you but also from one another.
A very wise person said that if you want something you have never had before, you must do something you have never done before.

Haris, allow me to address you as Sir, you have earned my respect Sir. Thank you very much for your effort in participating in the numerous ceramah around the country. Your contribution is very noble.
I told one of the incumbent MCA who lost and he is still sore about it, I told him I voted as an anak Bangsa Malaysia and my wish is to see Malaysian as One. Told him to bring this message to his boss OKT. We are not into racial politics. He was stumped.
Sir, Thank you again from me, my wife and my children, they may be too young to understand this, but thank you the same.

Dear Haris,
Today is truly a great day for Bangsa Malaysia and for our country. Your tireless effort to champion the cause of our Bangsa has won me over and made me decide to travel 400km to cast my vote.
Now that it is over (or has it?), we need to continue to ensure that those we have supported walk their talk.
I have never left any comments on any blogs before but today, I feel the urge to say something for the better future of our country.
With the announcement of chief ministership of Kelantan, Kedah, Penang and Selangor, which I think is the right decision made, I am sure today is the day everybody will be pondering on where is Perak going.
My 2 cents on this will be to appoint an Indian representative, with good track record and qualification, within the Barisan Rakyat coalition, to lead the state assembly of Perak.
This will truly make Malaysia a country for Bangsa Malaysia.
P/S I’m an ethnic Chinese, by the way, and a proud anak Bangsa Malaysia

What a fantastic election. In 2004 , we have given Barisan a strong mandate but they took us for granted and refuse to listen to our plea for good & honest governance, reduce oil price , reduce toll price , create a crdible judicary and etc.
This election results has sent a strong message to all politicians that their speeches and actions if good will be well recrive by the rakyat and if is is bad their deeds and actions will haunt them – they will have to pay for it.
Good bye to the one eye jack , the bocho man and what can we do the toll contracts states that the price have got to increase from time to time.
Thanks to all the bloggers – I really enjoy listening to their songs and wonderful lyrics.

Haris,
I too notice the serialesed slip on the ballot paper and inquired the officer at my polling stream on the matter.
He gave me the same story as mentioned in your post. However I didn’t know that I could have asked officer to show me the list of voters as I would have liked to ally my worry that they were somehow noting down the number to my name in the list.
All that I can do is hope that no such notation was made. However judging by the massive victory of Barisan Rakyat I for one am absolutely happy I voted wisely and give the BN state candidate in my dun the boot. He lost by a majority of 158!
