Even though I proposed T3 which is catchy as a code word, my vote goes to BENAR.

Hey, I’ve been reading TPP for a while and just joined the newly created group. Here are a couple of titles from me:
SpeakUp!
FreePress
I was also thinking about playing on the idea of Orwell’s Newspeak, like NO Newspeak or something like that.

“Trust”!
That is my contribution. Why Trust? that is what truth, fair, clean and so on aims to achieve. Trust lends itself to support the weak and the strong. Without trust, truth and cleanliness can be compromised and presented. But certainly its surely to undermine trust which is finally what we all fall back on to find our own comforts. Achieving trust and sustaining it imposes a subliminal and unconscious directive on self to speak the truth and to be clean and walla walla walla…..

I like Farida’s ‘Press fwd’. We can consider it as an auxiliary slogan b’cos the nuances have changed post- March 8. Also kleio’s ‘FreePress’ — play with the idea of freeing (unshackling) the press.

If we take the Bersih logo, replace Bersih with Benar and replace the tick mark with a quill, that looks to me like a simple yet powerful statement which draws upon the strength of Bersih and sets the stage for the Second Wave of People Power.

Members of E-group,
It’s time to vote for the name that you like best.
I had mentioned the following three factors that one should take into consideration when choosing the name in the post Fair & Accurate Media Week (3):
1. Our movement is for a free and fair media. A media that is able to report without fear or favor and will present a balanced view.
2. We are reaching for the grassroots so a Bahasa Malaysia title/name that can be understood by all races will be preferable.
3. A name that is simple and have a more ‘natural’ association with the cause. For example ‘Bersih’ is a movement for free, fair and clean elections. Even if one comes across this word and have never heard of the movement, one could deduce that this must have something to do with fairness, transparency or righteousness about something.
Another point to consider is whether the name will lend itself well when applied as a logo on merchandise like caps and T-shirts.
This poll closes at midnight on Sunday, 6th April, 2008.
Thank you.
