Mahathir s/o Mohamed, today you have reached an all time low.
Malaysiakini reports today that in Tokyo, you warned of possible unrest in our country, and said that “extremists” among different communities had begun to voice their opposition and make unfair demands on the government, trying to “divide rather than unite.”
Malaysiakini quotes you :
“Now we are seeing the different races making demands on the government, which they perceive as a weak government”
The Malaysian Insider reports that on 17th May, in Johor, whilst speaking at a gathering, you referred to the Hindraf memo, and then said :
“What does it say? Malaysia for Malaysians! This is the reality of the present situation. If we do not speak up, if we choose to keep quiet, we will lose our rights and the other races will take over. When that happens, it will be like Singapore. Do you think we will still have control?”
What, Malaysia is not for Malaysians? For who, then?
Racists like you only?
Who is the extremist now, intent on dividing our people, if not yourself?
I checked your blog to see if perhaps you might have posted something there that would suggest you have been misquoted.
This is what I found you had written on 16th May, 2008, under the heading ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ :
Sebaliknya mereka meminta-minta orang tertentu mempertahankan kedudukan orang Melayu.
Was it not you, in mooting your Vision 2020 in 1991, who advocated a Bangsa Malaysia? See what you said then :
By the year 2020, Malaysia can be a united nation, with a confident Malaysian society, infused by strong moral and ethical values, living in a society that is democratic, liberal and tolerant, caring, economically just and equitable, progressive and prosperous, and in full possession of an economy that is competitive, dynamic, robust and resilient. There can be no fully developed Malaysia until we have finally overcome the nine central strategic challenges that have confronted us from the moment of our birth as an independent nation.
See your first and eighth strategies to achieve this vision.
The first of these is the challenges of establishing a united Malaysian nation with a sense of common and shared destiny. This must be a nation at peace with itself, territorially and ethnically integrated, living in harmony and full and fair partnership, made up of one ‘Bangsa Malaysia’ with political loyalty and dedication to the nation.
The eighth is the challenge of ensuring an economically just society. This is a society in which there is a fair and equitable distribution of the wealth of the nation, in which there is full partnership in economic progress. Such a society cannot be in place so long as there is the identification of race with economic function, and the identification of economic backwardness with race.
Now as you traverse the country spewing your racist rhetoric of ketuanan Melayu just to save your own sorry butt, why don’t you also apologise to your audience for sowing this idea of Bangsa Malaysia, for advocating an end to identification of race with economic function?
Why don’t you also tell them about the friends that you’ve enriched at their expense?
Why don’t you tell them that in the name of ‘membasmikan kemiskinan’ you have entrenched them in abject poverty?
Understand this, Mahathir s/o Mohamed.
We survived, notwithstanding your 22 years.
Notwithstanding your plunder of this nation’s wealth and resources.
And whilst you talked then of Bangsa Malaysia but did little, we will walk that talk.
We will begin to build our Bangsa Malaysia.
Understand that if many feared you before, now you are viewed with scorn.

Let the old man says what he likes, in Japan or anywhere else. Let us do the exact opposite and prove him wrong. Let the whole world see what a self-serving individual he is and how out of touch he is with the rest of Malaysia.
There is no need to attach so much to what he says and do. He is history, sooner or later he himself will wake up and realise he is a Malaysian relic already!

If you had really bothered to read AND COMPREHEND Dr. Mahathir’s comments in his blog, you would not be accusing him so loathsomely. I am an Indian, and a BIG SUPPORTER of the Hindraf group and Makkal Sakthi. And I find nothing offensive in what Mahathir wrote. READ his postings with understanding, not with the venomous hatred you have against this remarkable Malaysian!

I also thought that at his core, he is a racist ultra Melayu-wannabe, from his obvious Kerala background. You know about how certain small people over-compensate to hide their smallness, and this Mahathir is one such. He was so caught up with all the praises from his bodek cronies hoping to get a piece of the action to the tune of billions. And now he is openly showing his true colours to try to save his sorry little ass. As Malaysia’s Father of Destruction, I complete despise this little despicable old man. Even in his final days of living, I have no pity for him and will definitely not mourn his impending death.

It is seems to me that, to Dr M and the likes of him, what constitutes TRUTH depends entirely on circumstances and other variables. That’s why he can change his position totally, even on very fundamental issues, without seeing any inherent conflict or contradictions. How does one even begin to engage someone like that, when the ground keeps shifting? The frightening thing is that this inflammatory rhetoric will actually have traction with its target audience. I am only very sorry that there are not more voices of reason like youself, and that what few voices there are seem to be voices in the wilderness.

Dear Haris,
It is high time that someone denounced Dr. Mahathir’s inflammatory speech in Johor on May 17. It was not only a virtual retrogression his ‘Bangsa Malaysia’ vision but a clear incitement to racial hatred — a crime in many countries including ours. The silence from the nation’s political leaders and social organisations on this is astonishing. Dato’ Param Cumaraswamy appears to be the only other person who has commented on the matter (see Malaysiakini, http://malaysiakini.com/news/83336).
What this reveals is the vicious, irresponsible person that Mahathir Muhammad is. It is a sad affair too that despite this, a vast number of Malaysians blindly adulate him and even assent to his truculent views.

Dr Mahathir is desperate now, that is why he has to resort to raising racial sentiments and hatred to try to gain umno support in ousting Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
I used to despise Dr Mahathir while he was the Prime Minister, however after he stepped down from office, I begin to respect him for the perceived role of “a statesman keeping an eye on current administration “.
How mistaken I was !
Now it looks like Dr Mahathir is trying very hard to topple Abdullah as a result the latter is dismantling the former legacies; Abdullah not being submissive to Dr Mahathir views and opinions; or even the uneven distribution of loots amongst the cronies.
I hope Marina Mahathir can talk some sense into Dr Mahathir to let go and face the realities in life; when you are no more in power , you just can’t call the shots.
By raising racial sentiments and hatred to garner support amongst umno members , Dr Mahathir not only harms his own integrity and reputation amongst non-Malays but also rational and sensible Malays like your goodself.
This despicable act not only harm racial harmony in this beloved country of ours but bad for his own health too !

Kaki Ayam (Comment #10),
Her public writings are consistently liberal and politically correct.
However from my years in the newsroom, I’ve heard, both office scuttlebutt and from a close friend who has had a personal ‘experience’/’encounter’, that she pulls rank in a high-handed manner.
I suggest you test it out by leaving a critical (as you appear to be of ‘him’) comment which at the same time is fair and polite. See if she publishes it in her blog.
Then you can find out for yourself.

Is it possible Dr M is going senile? Or is he so afraid the Lingam case will uncover the skeletons in his closet that he is trying to create racial unrest to shift public attention?
Most importantly, why is he being allowed to create this unrest? He is threatening the security of our country. If it was anyone else, I think he would already be placed under ISA. Why these double standards?
What a hypocrite. When in power he talks about Bangsa Malaysia. Now, he’s talking about how the “others” are trying to take away the rights of the Malays. Since when?
The only thing me and my Malay, Chinese, Indian, Singh, Kadazan, etc. buddies want is to LIVE IN PEACE and watch our kids grow up together in a harmonious society.
I used to respect Dr M but he seems to be in self-destruct mode. Worst of all, he doesn’t seem to care about the potential harm he is creating with his racist hate-mongering.
Dr M and most of the politicians of his generation still don’t get it that the new generation of young, educated people in Malaysia are already tired of race-based politics. Malaysians want politics based on issues, not race.

The reason why we are so divided and not living as Malaysian as we should be,is because of Dr.Mahathir, in his 22 years,he no doubt develop Malaysia and many will find him brilliant and has excellent wits.In developing the nation and in championing the Malay race, he abandoned some of the balance and equality among the races. It became cancerous and started to be gangrenous till we have to stop the rot. March 8th was the date ,that Malaysian of all races, Malay,Chinese, Indian and all other races joint force and booted out the over-arrogant and cruel regime left by Dr.M in five states. His cronies has plundered and rob the country for more then 2 decades and siphoned off billions from the country .Its is his folly that we are in this situation,he divided and play the race card well.He controlled with iron fist and his detractors were put away behind bars or resigned. He should be arrested for the injustice done towards the people of Malaysia.

Hi Harris,
I absolutely agree with you.Mahathir Mohammed Kutty is indeed a despicable and a sinful man who has lost his grounds.
TO Indra,
The ordinary citizens of Malaysia have been always doing their utmost to live in peace and harmony.
It’s the UMNO leaders who have never failed to play the racial card for their selfish motives and to remain in power. All these dirty games were started by no other than the ‘remarkable’dictator called Mahathir bin Muhammad Kutty.
The very person who spoke about bangsa Malaysia once is now trying to incite racial hatred among the people.
You mentioned that you are a strong supporter of HINDRAF.Could you tell me what is the reason for HINDRAF to be born in the first place?
Are you sitting on your brains?Didnt that Mahathir is responsible to drive one section of the community namely the Indians to the periphery. He keeps saying the malays are lazy and ‘tidak bertindak’.Why in his 22 years as a PM he failed to do his job for them?Wasn’t he busy enriching his cronies and gave a raw deal to those poor malays?Today he is going around telling them that they stood to lose Malaysia to other races.
How can that happened when the other races have accepted the special privileges for the bumis?Who is controlling the army, the police force, the media, the public sector and the govt?So what the hell this dictator is implying by playing the racial card? Will he dare to give such speeches like he did in JB recently in front of educated malay audiences? Why is he taking those simple class, poor malays for a ride?Cant you see how cunning is this man, trying to pit the malays against the non-malays?He is playing a very dangerous game now for his own selfish purposes.Who the hell is he to ask some one who was chosen by the rakyat to step down?
Despite all the rots that he created Malaysians on the whole have been living in relative peace and now he wants to destroy that.Is this a remarkable man for you?
Truth will always prevail, this Mahathir will have to answer for all his deeds and his days are numbered.
And to you,I wonder why do you have to stress that you are an Indian and a ‘STRONG SUPPORTER’ of HINDRAF AND MAKKAL SAKTHI?Please do not dishonour my community and HINDRAF or MAKKAL SAKTHI,to me you dont stand anywhere near them.Go enjoy those racially inflammatory speeches of your so called REMARKABLE Mahathir bin Muhammad Kutty.

Mahathir comment is seditious.
If we put some thoughts into what Mahathir had done to Malaysia and to the people of Malaysia we can draw a conclusion that he had done great damages to all races in Malaysia and that INCLUDES the pure genuine malay of Malaysia.
He had failed in formulating a system which can create strong fundamental growth and development and bring unity to all Malaysians.
In short my conclusion is he had failed in his duty as a prime minister of Malaysia.

I am sad to hear this from the old man. It proves that he is a big hypocrite all along.
He himself did not believe and meant what he said in 1991. Don’t anyone mistake this as one of his senile rants.
But some folks did believe the Bangsa Malaysia thing and got conned, people like me. I truly thought we will have a nation we can call our our own, with my own nice spot under the Malaysian sun. For many years after that, I was frustrated at every turn because the reality on the ground just seem so different from the rhetoric and propaganda that was shamelessly pushed by the government. In time, I became disillusioned and left.
It is quite strange I still introduce myself as a Malaysian with some pride in foreign lands. Many of my friends see the Tourism Malaysia’s Truly Asia ad on international channels and they remark to me that the country is such a beautiful place and her people are living in such harmonious, peaceful co-existence. Yes, it is truly a beautiful place but I can’t bring myself to tell them that the are just scenes of a potemkin village designed to lure their tourist dollars.
It is people like Mahathir who has fractured so much of Malaysia and even now as his end nears, does not allow the healing to take place. People tend to show their true colours when they have their backs to the wall. And I am heartened that Pak Lah has not played the racial card or try to flame the “ketuanan” thing after the bashing he took on 08 March, when it was probably the most politically expedient thing to do. Now, who is the bigger man?
It would good if Mahathir can just shut the kcuf up, and prepare to meet Him. Let’s see him trying a conjob there.

Dear Bro Haris, we the rakyat(especially the non Malay Muslims) had painfully endured this man for 22 miserable years. His racist and discriminative policies created so much hardship and anger among us. I don’t know why there are still people who love, admire or respect him. Maybe they enjoyed some benefits from him,so they still defended him faithfully. For the rest of us who are his victims and yet not allow to voice out our frustrations,we see him as a racist and dictator.Apart from building some mega projects to enhance his self image, little is done to uplift our lives.Look at our public hospitals amd schools. Can we feel proud at these facilities? I remembered life used to be much simpler before he came to power. Back then we can still taste the spirit of muhibbah especially in small towns and villages.Since he took over, he created so much racial tension among various races. There were resentment, jealousy and suspicion in the classrooms and
in the office.Neither did he have much good words about
other races.Everytime he opened his mouth,it is about
the boring “ketuanan Melayu”.I think if we were to talk about him it would take a long time and we ended up very bitter. So the only thing we can do now is to ignore him completely since he is a done case. As least we can preserve our peace and sanity.

It is so sad that Dr M is trying to incite the Malays against the non-Malays. I sure hope that the Malays are not so stupid to be conned by him. I think he is trying to save his ass from all his misdeeds and found no other way but to stoop this low. He will pay for his sins when he meets his maker. To the Malays, I want to tell you that we non-Malays do not hate you. We are only pissed off with UMNO politicians who are arrogant, unfair, corrupt and don’t really care for anyone but themselves (not all). We want all Malaysians regardless of race to be really united and care for each other. We hope you want the same too.

It’s rather sad to read and to know how low the ex-PM can stoop just to prove that he is the most powerful man and can still be a ‘king-maker’ in this country. I agree with you that his recent actions/remarks are not only despicable but also terribly shameful, especially when this very person has been the longest serving PM, having ruled the country almost 22 years and has been honoured a Tun at that.
For a man of his standing to now resort to this low grade, gutter politics of wiping up racial fears/hatred, exploiting racial insecurities, and promoting the concept of racial dominance among certain sections of the popoulation to acheive his personal agenda, is beyond the belief of most decent Malaysians who love this country.
But I have faith in Malaysians post-Mahathir. I believe we are not that political gullible anymore; ordinary Malaysians have learnt to trust each other much more than politicians (especially those who thrive on wiping up racial/religious sentiments); Malaysians have moved forward to a higher level of political maturity post Mac 8, 2008 and are beginning to move and act beyond racial boundaries; most importantly, they are more prepared to defend each other from racial bigots, zealots and flame throwers.
So fear not the Tun’s last display of political folly. For this folly will soon be entombed as a legacy for future generations of Malaysian politicians to learn and remember the lessons as to why we should not build a nation on the spurious grounds/foundation of racial bigotry and dominance.

Anyway, it’s time for the Govt to call Firaun’s bluff.
As Param Cumaraswany, the UN Rapporteur said, let Firaun get a taste of his own medicine and see how he likes it. He still owes many for Ops Lallang!!
donplaypuks,
The Extraterritorial Offences Act, 1976 covers OSA and sedition offences committed outside of jurisdiction.

This is my first posting here so hello Haris and all.
What about asking that sorry excuse for an Attorney-General to check out if nice Dr M’s alleged racist comments fall within the grip of that nasty Sedition Act’s claws?
After all, isn’t that proverbial sauce for the allegedly seditious Hindraf or other goose also sauce for any allegedly seditious gander?
“Imagine – Power To The People” John Lennon.
[p.s. as I have never set eyes on the A-G’s form at all due to not being able to find a photo of this legal entity anywhere on the web, can someone please kindly publish one somewhere public so I can confirm that this entity really does in fact exist and is not mere fiction in the figment of my imagination; thanks in advance!)
anna,
You want the same fella who led our Batu Putih delegation to the ICJ to advise whether MM has flouted the law?
This same fella has exonerated MM far too many times already!
Wait for a new AG.

Dear Bro Haris, everytime when you sense this old man talking crap, just ignore him completely cos he is a spent bullet. You can either listen to the music, watch a comedy movie or better still, meditate. Then, whatever rubbish he spin won’t spoil your mood.It is fruitless to fight with a senile old man.His brain is harden with decades of “ketuanan melayu” poison. No amount of reason will soften it.So,don’t waste time on him.Put all your energy and passion into “Saya Anak Bangsa Malaysia” campaign. You still have a very long journey,my friend! And many of us are behind you all the way. Thanks for being our voice and conscience.

To the person who wrote this piece I salute you. There are a lot of people out there who feels the same. Some of us who decided to blog about this need to expose all of the BUTTHEADS. Mahathir seemed to be loosing his marble. He is the worst leader Malaysia have ever had. Give me 22 yrs with absolute power, I can do better than what he did. The so call “bumiputera” status should be abolished since it was designed to serve the Malays rather the other natives from East Malaysia.
Dr Mahathir destroyed Sabah, corrupted the judicial system, got his cronies rich, abused the ISA and damage Malaysia’s image at the international level. Is this what we call a great leader? If you dissect the race issue with Dr. Mahathir, he is actually not a Malay rather an indian muslim or mama. So, why trying to be a malay wannabe as other bloggers pointed out.

Haris,
We should pay only limited attention to WHAT he says. The messages he convey are just to cover his real intention of baiting PM Abdullah to take action against himself when he returns from Tokyo, or soon after. Much as we all are disappointed with PM Abdullah, I hope the PM, and all of us concerned Malaysians, do not fall into Tun M’s trap. Tun M just wants to be “martyred”, hoping that it will precipitate a rebellion against PM Abdullah… and if this rebellion spills out onto the streets between Malays and non-Malays, Tun M wouldn’t give a damn. We are witnessing the fall of a previously respected leader into irrelevancy. Let our history books record this truth in future.

As a fellow doctor, I am ashamed of Mahathir. As doctors, we are taught to treat everyone equally, irrespective of the colour of the skin. You don’t even need a doctor to tell you that – just listen to your conscience. Mahathir couldn’t even learn something as fundamental as that. Mahathir is a disgrace to the medical community, and a failed human being. May God have mercy on his soul.

Haris like Klaw said before, all these racist commentators on mahathir’s blog is indeed very disturbing. But im not in the least bit suprised, just as anak bangsa malaysia are active in your website and DAP supporters in Lim Kit Siang’s, so too will the ultra’s be the main readership in Cedet.
But i think rather than imagine them as minority, lets take the bull by its horns. Lets engage them in the Cedet Blogosphere with our arguments and dilute the fanatical voices. Let them yell their Pengkhianat Bangsa, Cina babi and India Mati or whatever at us! We’ll Show Them!
Let the collective Anak Bangsa Malaysia voice of moderation and fairness sound louder in his own arena!
All this assuming mahathir dunt censor what we say!
you never know what engaging these fellows will do. At the very least itll prevent the simple folk from being influenced by the ultras. We can even Rebuff his articles with facts eh? 😉
BaronV,
Already many complaints of commments critical of Chedet not being approved.
Rather than engaging them in cyberspace, let’s take this issue out into real space.
Wait for announcements of forthcoming anak Bangsa Malaysia roadshows, God Willing.
Be blessed, my friend

This fellow will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He is so used to getting his way. After all, his sense of omnipotence was reinforced by hand kissing “indira” Malaysians over two decades.
As I have said before, he is nothing more than a third rate, third world “mugabe” clone who capitalized on a fawning population’s pathalogical need for a local hero.
We fed this beast for so long and now it just refuses to die. Let us hope we do not repeat this national “hand kissing, bowing, scrapping before YAB” habit to create another monster.

WHAT IS MAHATIR OUGHT TO BE THE QUESTION for this discussion rather than who is Mahatir, because there is no who is Mahatir. He is not really a Malay but an Indian but if you called him an Indian he will throw you in detention under the ISA. Is Mahatir a Malay nationalist ? No he is not a Malaysian nationalist either, because by his definition THERE IS NO MALAYSIAN MALAYSIA NATION since by his definition again THERE IS NO MALAYSIAN MALAYSIA. There is a Malaysia, according to him, whose citizens are ALL MALAYS (so if you are a Chinese, Indian or whatever you are not Malaysian, there is no Malaysian), because there cannot be any MALAYSIAN MALAYSIA since such a nation will make MALAYSIAN Chinese, MALAYSIAN Indinas, or WHATEVER MALAYSIANS, fully citizens of Malaysia; and if that is the logical argument then HOW DO YOU FIT A KETUAAN MALAYU into Malaysia ?
We have to assume that Mahatir is a very intelligent person. You know it is not easy to graduate Doctor of the Medical kind from Uni Singapore if you are not at the top of the scale of intelligence, but he is so bloody intelligent that he has had ALL THE MALAYS EATING OFF HIS HAND. It is something that you gallant Malays will not want to see, but really it does exist in the Malay psyche, you love to adopt ICONS, like this Pakistani genius girl who went to Oxford at a tender age ! You lot just simply went ecstatic, what a genius MALAY, and recently you had listed in Fortune 500 Malaysia’s richest man who is Malay, and you went into hoots ! In the same way Mahatir was adopted by the Malays because he is a doctor in those days there were very few Malay doctors. This was the unfortunate thing and it is quite normal that those who BECOME MALAY OR ANYTHING become more Malay or Chinese or Indians than the real Chinese or Indians or whatever ! The tendency to over compensate for what you are not; the tendency to show that you are the real thing you go to lengths to POSTURE BEING ONE.
Mahatir had done a lot that is Bad and retrogressive in shaping what Malaysia had become and all towards posturing himself as MALAY. He did know know what he did was bad for Malaysia and even today most Malays believe that Mahatir had been a true son of the soil (what a description). Mahatir had done this because HE AHD NO VISION, was a leader who is blind to what is good or what is bad. His single most damaging contribution to the Malay race is his NEP and the myth that it benefited the Malays. It is not now that the Malays will see him as the wrecking ball, but in time his legacy will be remembered by all Malaysians as the single most retrogressive influence for the forward progression of the Malays. Mahatir had divided the people of Malaysia as nobody has. THERE IS NO MALAYSIAN MALAYSIA ! There is therefore no Malaysia.
Let the truth be said that for all the fear that may come again like a May 13th, the seed of this fear is sown by Mahatir to cause fear and panic. He thoroughly believes that if he can get AAB out of the Prime Minister’s job he will escape the fate of the recommendations of the Royal Commission; I do not think so because HIS PRESENT CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS UMNO TODAY WILL PAVE THE WAY FORWARD FOR DATO SERI ANWAR TO GET INTO OFFICE; and from there Dato Seri need not so much as to lift a finger to do anything vengeful to Mahatir; he need just let the royal Commission’s recommendations take its natural course and Mahatir will enjoy free food and accommodation at government expense.

The public has given too much undeserved attention to what mahathir says and does. This plays directly to his inflated sense self-importance.
mahathir’s resignation from UMNO is no national earth-shaterring event, and it has not caused any uncertainty in the nation, as some would like us to believe.
It may be an emotionally bruising experience for mahathir but knowing him, he may yet come out with more brazen action. The public must do its part, it should make it known to him, in no uncertain terms, that his tantrums and ravings are not convincing anyone of his infallibility and the righteouness of his views!
Tunku AA has done well to remind the public of mahathir’s long history of launching vicious personal attacks against those whom he wanted to get rid off. It has repeatedly been shown by his own acts, that he is not shy to go down to the level of bending and twisitng facts to serve his narrow self-interests and purposes.
mahatir, by inciting racial fears, shows he is not only prepared to divide and destroy UMNO, but that he is also prepared to divide and destroy the nation. This is how selfish and irrational he has become!.
Judging by the actions he has taken, it clearly shows humbleness, inordinate charms and dignity are his not personal qualities. He harbours a sense of indispensability, he also harbours the notion that he is infallibility. That’s how arrogant he is!

Mahathir has always been an extremist. He was one of the UMNO ultras who nearly brought disaster to our country in 1969 and was mainly responsible for forcing the Tungku to give way to Najib’s father.Being out of power now, and fearing the return of DSAI, he is just reverting back to his extremist nature. We must not allow him to be successful.Looks like he will be hauled to court to answer for his many “crimes” against Malaysia!

Pak Lah may not realise it: this is the best time for him to consolidate his power and regain the “lost” political support. It is pointless for him to appeal for support within UMNO. Instead of doing some “fancy footwork” to regain support from UMNO, he should adopt the posture of a “Statesman” and carry out programs that will win the support of all the Rakyat. The direct support of the Rakyat is by far more critical than that of UMNO members.
If he is seen doing the “right things” the Conference of Rulers will also support him.
What Pak Lah can do to win support of the Rakyat, are totally within his power to do so:
1. Abolish the ISA.
2. Abolish the Publishing and Printing Act.
3. Review OSA, only strategic information safe-guarding our national interesta could be classified under OSA (and not incriminating evidence on corrupt politicians).
4. Disband “warlordism” in UMNO by delegating powers to the various Parliamentary Select Committees.
5. Put in “Equitable Policies” to address poverty and under-development by region, sector, “deprived and marginalized groups”.
6. Remove those UMNO ministers who are obvious jokers and morons.
If only Pak Lah had the guts to do the above, TDM will have to shut up.

May 25, 2008
I agree with rn silver,
TDM seem to be getting out of hand, his speeches warrant scrutiny as it clearly contains sparks of racial disunity. The last two speeches (in JB and Tokyo) equates the way he perceived the “Operation Lalang” guys in 1988. 20 years has gone by and he is doing the same thing. The current government MUST do something about it to shut him down. The international community is watching the developments in Malaysia and this is definetly bad for foreign investments and the economy as a whole.

3 questions for the racists.
1. How different are the champions of Malay Supremacy
different from the Champion of White Supremacy,
Hitler?
2. If White Supremacy is not justifiable, why then is
Malay Supremacy acceptable and practised by UNMO-led
goverment?
3. Is inherited servitude the practise in Malaysia
against the UN Charter? If not, why are the present
generation of non-malays who are born and bred in
this country beholden to a said unwritten ‘social
contract’?
Respect is not a birth right, it has to be earned. One will never be truly respected if one cannot compete without assistance from the government. More important is the hand-out seekers/acceptors themselves know it in their being they are not worth their salt. Unwarranted charity can insidiously cripple self-respect and resilience. Thus not surprising, the excessive defensiveness.
Malaysia is unique in this world..it is the ONLY country in the whole world where affirmative action is for the majority. We should be so proud?

His latest racist tirades is despicable and very dangerous and must not be allowed to be left unchallenged.
The Lingam tape has only exposed one of his many misdeeds. Many of his other misdeeds should be highlighted again in both the online and print media in order to show all Malaysians the true colours of this “gutter politician”.

Dear Haris,
Jika berjuta kekurangan rakyat Hindu Malaysia , salah siapa? Salahkan diri sendiri. Tq.
Look, if you will give us your full name and particulars, and not hide behind a pseudonym, I will pass the hat round amongst the readers. We will raise enough money to get you a one way ticket to Pakistan or any other ‘Islamic state’ country of your choice. And from time to time we will look in on you just to make sure that you have found true happiness.
Is that ok with you? That way you’ll be happy and we’ll all be happy

How I cry for Malaysia.
We should all take a step back and look at what a small bunch of people called politicians have done to our beloved country and compare with what another small bunch of people also called politicians, just across the tiny causeway, have done to their country… we should cry even more and louder.
When everything seems hopeless and lost, then came 8th of March which gave all of us patriotic Malaysians a ray of hope. That day seems to be God’s answer to all our prayers. I cannot be so affirmative until time can prove that it is really God’s answer to our prayers. Until then I call upon all true red-blooded Malaysians to stand by PR and support them all the way to steer our beloved nation away from impending darkness and doom.

Haris, it’s a timely move to build the BANGSA MALAYSIA now. Tun Dr M has proved again to the RAKYAT that he is in fact a RACIST himself, an extreme one, I would say.Is he insane? Or is he going to write a new chapter of MODERN MALAY DILEMMA after NEP has been implemented for more than 35 years? Or is he plotting something ugly in case Anwar and PAKATAN RAKYAT forms a new government? I think he owes the RAKYAT an apology and the Police must act impartially and charge him for seditious acts.

Without a doubt the bad doctor has many sins. There is one other sin which many may have overlooked. I am referring to the Spore/JB causeway jam. I do not know the exact figures.but I believe about 10,000 to 50,000
Sporean/Malaysians criss the causeway every day. I happen to be one of the commuters, and it is no exaggeration to say that almost every one was cursing and swearing about how inefficient the people at the JB side was.It was so easy to solve Just open up more booths or expand the causeway, etc. So much suffering for 22 years. But now after Badawi took over, this problem was rectified. Crossing the causeway is so so much convenient and fast now.Today it took me about 5 minutes as vs at least 45 minutes during those 22 yrs
under Dr M. From this one example everyone can see that Badawi is for the rakyat, but Dr M is all 100% politics. He doesnt care of the suffering commuters.

This is a very sad (or is he mad) indeed. He is filled with so much hatred. What little respect I had for him is now gone.
He’s destroying his own image for reasons known only to him. Maybe he’s a thoroughly evil man all along. Maybe he was and still is a wicked dictator who would stoop at nothing to achieve his goals (whatever they are). Maybe to him, the end justifies the means.
I hope that common sense will prevail and people will not fall for his evil schemes.

What are you trying to relate here?

Dr.M should be arrested immediately under the Sedition Act,he has certainly gone overboard with his views. He is solely responsible for creating hatred among the races in his 22 years as PM. He had played the racial card cleverly and had instill fear among the Malays,by telling them they would lose their special rights if other community comes to power, the Indians were marginalised and the Chinese was also suppressed but they still manage to hold on.Over the years ,the rakyat realise what BN and UMNO lead by Dr.M were loads of bullshit. The 12th GE was a revelation and the turning point in Malaysian Politics.Malaysian of all races-Malay,Chinese,Indian,Kadazan,Sikhs,Muruts,Ibans and others united together and booted the cruel BN regime in at least 5 states, these BN S-holes have rob ,plundered and siphoned off billions of the country’s wealth for their personal gain and cronies. Its Dr.M doing that today the Rakyat are suffering with the hardship in daily life with the cost of living is soaring sky-high. The highway tolls we are paying is a classic example of fraud deal by the Dr.M government and the toll concessionaires. Toll plaza should be demolished and the highway management should be taken over by the government.( This is a another issue to deal with later)
The old man has nothing to lose now except his life, and he will be shooting out from his mouth all that he can to ensure there are enough chaos in the country at all times to divert other issues like the Lingam tape case is coming up,but probably he will escape that coz,the AG is his old buddy. He is extremely worried and sweating in his pants if Anwar comes to power, then he may have to pack up and leave the country.

Don’t put him high on the pedestral, he is just another Malaysian citizen who happened to be the former Prime Minister. No doubt he has contributed to the country but that is his duty. He gets paid but also enjoy a hell of right and wrong incentives at our expense. What the hell is he making so much fuss now. I agree with your description of Mahathir son of Mohamad. What he has been saying lately is a million times worse than RPK yet our Paklah has no balls to use the Sedition Act on him. Let us also all pray as well to God Almighty to see that this senile old man is way past his due date and take him away to rest in peace.

You are still wet behind the ears and who the hell are you to ridicule and bellittle Tun Dr Mahathir!
My reply : I am an anak Bangsa Malaysia. All anak Bangsa Malaysia have a legitimate right to criticise leaders, both present and past, for deeds and misdeeds. I choose to speak up against a racist. You don’t like? Tough! Get used to it. This is a democracy and I am exercising my democratic right.
Even if God gives you 3 lifes on this earth, you may not even achieve ‘the smell of Mahathir’s fart!”.
My reply : You like the smell of MM’s fart? Keep it. It’s all yours.
With just one lifetime, I would not want to achieve what your darling has done to this country in 22 years! Nothing to be proud of.
What more all the things that he has done for Malaysia.
My reply : Dismantling the judiciary? Ops Lalang? Perwaja foul up? Trumped up charges against DSAI?
You can “syok sendiri” but it will lead you no where my friend. If Bodohwi is shivering in his pants thinking about Mahathir…what can a small ‘kucing kurap’ like you do?? hu hu hu !

While we condemn Mahathir’s disgusting act to incite the races against each other, let us not forget that we have come a long way since 1969.
Malaysians in general are now more matured, more educated, more tolerant and wiser. It is not so easy for vile politicians to incite racial hatred where there is none.
Mahathir s/o Mohamed (the s/o is to emphasize his Mamak origin) will not succeed. He will only succeed in dragging down his own legacy through mud.
Let us have confidence in ourselves and take comfort that the various races have a stronger foundation that what this vile retired politician thinks.
Meanwhile, let this unprincipled sumbag screams all he wants trying to incite the Malays. He will not succeed. I have confidence our racial harmony will hold.

Thank you for your reply Haris.
However, being a political appointee of the Government the AG’s role is an obviously difficult and sensitive one to handle and get right due to the role’s responsibilities of being chief legal advisor to/of the Executive as well as being tasked as the guardian of the public interest on matters of prosecution and in upholding the rule of law.
Due to the obvious conflict of interest in the AG’s duties, such a role, in my opinion, can only ever be discharged as expected by an office-holder of the utmost integrity and someone who by character is a truly independent and a fearless champion of lawful justice when it comes to protecting and upholding the public interest and the rule of law.
Being a cynical realist in the big bad world, I’d say that there appears to be an expectation-gap between what the public expects of the AG’s office and what the AG office-holder can in reality reasonably deliver given that the AG is answerable and accountable to the Executive Government who is also his/her employer and paymaster. And wouldn’t that hypothetical expectation-gap grow even wider when the Executive the AG reports to is headed by an overly strong and authoritarian chief executive/PM who does not like to listen to anyone or advice and who may lack respect for his fellow MPs, the law or the rule of law?
So even if the AG is changed, the high public expectation placed on the next AG can only ever be met realistically, in my opinion, if the AG is made accountable to an independent Parliamentary Committee(comprising of MPs from various political parties and perhaps one or two external independent experts) and not to the Executive Government.
Having said that, the change of the present AG is to be undoubtedly welcomed, and would it not be somehow poetic if you were one day soon to be considered for that tough, honourable and learned role?
“Imagine – Power To The People” John Lennon.
anna,
The contents of your second paragraph spell out why Gani is unfit for the position.
And yes, I agree that the AG should not have to answer to the executive but perhaps directly to parliament

I don’t know which will come first.
Being the first Prime Minister charged with crime against the nation for institutional corruption when PR comes to power or his passing away because of natural causes.
He is definitely fighting hard to deprive and frustrate PR under the leadership of DSAI from coming to power at the federal level.
He owes this to his family.
Problem with UMNO is that if one spews a racist agenda, one can always find supporters within the organisation.

FYI, if anybody wants to know… Tun M has been globetrotting and attending conferences on international affairs. He’s once again trying to portray himself to the activists, academics, and politicians as some sort of anticolonialist or ‘Champion Of The 3rd World’.
Once he gets that street cred, it’ll be much easier for him to demonize Anwar as some sort of Zionist Anglo-American agent or some shit like that. Then when a Mahathirist puppet takes over and shuts down the alternative media and puts the bloggers in jail, he hopefully will get the blind support from these activists & academicos.

The lesser of the hypocrites are the likes of Lim Keng yaik and samy velu who nows seems to be critical of the BN regime, calling for reforms. An elusive voice in the absence of hearing when they are in the Ministry.

Dear Bro Haris,
I vividly recall some of TDM speeches which he would always refer the non-Malays as “mereka” and Malays as “kita.” Even though the famous Anwar Ibrahim’s trial revealed that Malays of Peninsular Malaysia share the same DNA profiling of Indian Sub-continent but TDM has his own version. Do you recall his version of European history in his so-call UMNO speeches? A laughing stock. The trouble his people regard him as a Malay intellect. What a shame. Intellectual does not colour or creed. It is nature’s (GOD’s)gift to mankind transcending borders. TDM would definitely meet his Waterloo soon.

Going by that logic, no one should be entitled to any form of help. After all, we are supposed to fend for ourselves and if you succeed, great. If not, you have only yourself to blame. Indira A/L Mohamad, you are also as “remarkable” as your Indian Mamak Idol Mahathir. Don’t shit around in the wrong place or you deserve the rotten eggs to be thrown in your face.
Your mamak idol is perceived to be a good for nothing Indian citizen pretending to be a Malay and Bumiputra, who came and robbed Malaysians of their wealth. He and his “Towering Malays” elite crony Umnoputras plundered billions, leaving so many Malays poor and suffering in poverty. They could have swept the Top Ten places in the Forbes list of Malaysia’s richest, but why not??? Because their money are all “hidden and unaccountable”.
We were told many of the Umnoputras and civil serpents buy their cars from AP king with cash. Do you know that? They take minimal loans of 20-30 percent, and ask AP king to under declare the purchase price so that IRD have no grounds to question them.
So Indira, you are remarkable, and you are blind with envy of your Malaysian Racist Idol, or might be you were also one of his beneficiaries. As far as I am concerned, your OLD FART mamak is the enemy of all true Malaysians and he should go to HELL!

We all know that as a blogger, Mahathir is as unprincipled as he is a politician and he censors views which do not agree with him. His remarks have been more seditious than most others who have been detained under the Sedition Act. Am I to understand that in govt eyes, words that “incite racial hatred against other races” are fine, whereas words that “incite racial hatred against Malays” is seditious? Why the double standard?
Having read through some of the comments here, and elsewhere for that matter, I actually find it quite disturbing that there are people who refer to Dr M as “mamak”. If we are gearing towards Bangsa Malaysia, then surely this “name-calling” is not called for?

Until the ISA is removed it remains on the statutes. The one to use it will have to be the Home minister who belongs to UMNO. It was used only as recently on the Hindraf 5.
Mahathir has used gaily in the past with gay abandon. It is only poetic justice that he benefit from its usage.
While they are at it, his son Mukhriz, who calls May 13 a `blessing`, should also be picked up.
They can of course be charged in Court later when the ISA is removed. Until such time they can both rest in Kamunting.

The since the Royal commission findings were published, Dr. M has been aggressively campaigning for Ketuanan. At no time has he placed any importance in the nation. Its him and only him that matters. Ketuanan Melayu is just to divert attention from him asell as to make him relevant.

That way Malaysia can remain secular and these two morons can have their racist and islamic state as they want it. And oh yes, please take the F@UKing racist Mahathir with you.
Since you guys think alike , you can flock together

Jessintha,
Mahathir complains so much that AAB doesnt give him space in the MSM, but like you my comments in chedet.com also gets censored.
So what press freedom is Mahathir talking about ? The kinda freedom we had from 1981 to 2003 ?

Dont let his age fooled you. This old man is as racial and as hateful since the Late Tunku threw him out of UMNO.We are fed up of his neverending threats that May 13 will erupt if we Malaysians dont listen to him. Syabas UMNO under Pak Lah!

Honestly, Haris,
What a country ours is, really, when leaders who are supposed to unite all the people and lead us forward towards prosperity stoop low to talk about racial supremacy and that one race will dominate and oppress another? Why not talk about all Malaysians and help all poor and disadvantaged Malaysians?
There is not a single leader who has the common sense or integrity to say “hey, this is not right, we shouldn’t do this, we need perpaduan and mutual respect and caring amongst the races”!
What is going on?? *sigh*

we are one of the first countries in the world to be multi racial and multi cultural.
Others such as Australia, UK, USA only came later. Look at them and look at us. We are still squabbling amongst ourselves and they already have Governors, Mayors, and Presidents from their minority races.
We can hardly even see a Headmaster os a primary school these days who belongs to the minority ethic groups !!
Is Malaysia truly Asia ? Or is it just a slogan like Bersih Cekap Amanah and Cemerlang Gemilang Terbilang to fool the rakyat ?

I left Malaysia because of you. You should retire and let AAB run the country. You are indeed a racist inciting hatred. I met Govenor Bill Richardson of New Mexico, USA and he commented that you are a MAD Man

I dont deny Mahathir is a smart man. But as smart as he is, he is also a very bad man. Not just mad, Ken Toong.
He knows how to have people think and smell his farts as aromatic as he wants them to smell. He knows how to “fight” for the 3rd world countries. He knows how to “fight” and “bring” the muslim countries together. And when people, families and countries fall under his charms, he’ll then slowly, secretly get what he wants, which i think is fame, money and authority.
Imagine this. He was stepping down as PM, but what he has in mind is for AAB to become PM, then hand it over to Najib. DO you guys not think he very well has in his mind who he wants to be PM after Najib. This old fart will have ambition of ruling the world if he has had the power. Trust me. He wants the world to go bout its business according to his way.
Talk about his tenure as PM. Isnt that his name who was mentioned in the Lingamgate? Why the hell on earth is he so friendly and share such intimate relation with Vincent Tan? Gimme a break, all of you Mahathir supporters.
Didnt he, when ask to be witness during the Lingamgate Royal Inquiry, only to tell the panelists, Saya lupa. I cannot remember. Gimme a break all of you Mahathir supporters.
This man, is smart and bad and mad! It might be wrong for me to say or feel this, but i really hope he’ll die soon for the benefits of Malaysians. And mankind.

I would like to echo what Su said about using the term ‘mamak’.
Think about it, if Dr M was a ‘pure’ Malay, would it make what he said any different? So why focus on who his grandfather was, but instead concentrate on what he says.

I read comment by Dr Mahathir is a sincere point of view. Which country does not have any racism,China have it, India have it, Singapore have it & USA have it.Almost all country having it.It was done smoother, unable to notice it, if were not look closely. It’s wrong for him to remind those weaker Malays, to tell them this is their land. It’s wrong for someone to be reminded,to ensure that they don’t forget this is their country, so that they does not feel like an immigrent & immigrent felt like this is their country. China called for one China policy, when Taiwan wanted independent. Is there any indian or chinese party in USA,is there any chinese party in India, is there any Indian party in China, Hong Kong or Taiwan etc.The Malays please remember when you are weak there is no future for you. Those young generations, remember how dificult this country try to fight off communist. There is a modern communist try to divided the country.I am a mix racial of Malay, Indian and Chinese.Do be fooled by those whom have their personal interest.Take a close examples of the Malays in Singapore.Ask yourself is there not racism.

Saudara Haris,
You research very well and the comments are both interesting and informative. Just remember one thing, the dreaded ISA can be used on anyone no matter how truthful. Remember RPK?
Actually, there are only three sources/people who created racial disturbances; these people are only the first generation immigrants not from Indonesia. The rest of the ‘Malays’ now claim to be of origin from outside Malaysia, many are first generation immigrants. The Malay indentity was created to benefit greatly a handful of UMNO wallahs for power and financial gains; power has financial gains and financial gains can buy power and so it goes around! The finacially powerful, with their families now control Malaysia.
Selamat Hari Raya; let all enjoy together as Malaysians. Our prayers go to RPK and other ISA detainees.

Mahathir had made sure that only his cronies benefitted from his policies ensuring that other malays do not enrich their knowledge by not allowing english language in schools which gives confidents to malays and the more the malay knows the more they will question. They used religious and racial sentiments to ensure that the malays do not get exposure to what is happening around them. They actually only cared for their close allies. People who are ambitious and love in their hearts can not think properly.

Wow!!! BN still did not lost. Its the MIC, Gerakan and MCA that lost. UMNO survive. Politically we are “RACIST” but when LEE Chong Wei won and ganesan(if Im not mistaken)scored the winning goal against thailand, Im the first one who shouted “Thats it Malaysia”. Its you guys that is flaming up this racist comments. My colleagues laugh at all this fuss. We in a Multinational company are proud to be Malaysian. We prove the Mat Salleh wrong in every way. Work something towards that and respect each other stand. Its a democratic country. You have your say too. (Indra, Im please to have you in our group)

At the recent Perkasa opening ceremony , mahatir have said that most of private students studying there are non malays and he said further that most the students studying in oversesa are non malay. As a ex PM he should have known that why and how this students are studying in private institutions and overseas. Most of this deserving students do not get a place in the public unversities and their parents got to beg or borrow to educate their children. all this because of his damp policies which he have created and impleamentated. After 50 years now the BN component leaders are telling the impleamentaion of NEP is not right but the policy is good for all. For last 22 years he have enriched the elite malays who were close to him and the ruling party
