Just an observation on the “100 Days” matter.
I note most media tend to consider the “100 Days” affair as more of a “Probationary” period.
While that is not wrong, it should also be a “State of the ‘Union'” address by the new CM or PM. A concise statement of where we are now, and where we can go from here.
Something akin to taking a pause during a jungle trek or a motor travel, and re-checking our co-ordinates.
Like a Navigator on a plane or a ship. To make sure we are not on the wrong path or direction as a country.

What,100 days already but very honestly speaking nothing much to celebrate!The way PAS propose to implement some stupid laws really killed whatever mood there is to celebrate.Imagine having separate pay counters in the supermarkets -one for the men and one for the women.How about the gays and lesbians?Another counter?How much ridiculous can they get?And now they want to protest Ella and Mas Idayu’s concert,depriving the people of some entertainment.I dreaded to think of what will come in the days ahead from these bigots.Coincidentally,100 days reminds me of many Chinese families observing the 100 days of the passing away of their deceased loved ones.Very solemn affair.Other than that,not many people observe the 100 days milestone.Please correct me if I am wrong,brother Haris but I can’t help feeling rather pessimistic these days.

Oh yes,I have forgotten to add this to the first comment-I think soon they(PAS) will come up with other stupid ideas like separate public swimming pools,separate bus stops,separate eating stalls,separate canteen for schools,separate cinema halls,separate govt clinics and on and on.The possibilities are endless,just to make life more difficult for everyone.PAS stinks!

Dear all,
As per Lucia’s comment (June 24, 9.45am), the memo for media freedom drafted by Benar, CIJ, All-blogs and Wami was launched May 3. They will be submitting it to “national leaders” on Merdeka day.
The number of signatures as I write this is 426. I have signed the memo (click Lucia’s link).
I’ve also read it reported that the well-staffed CIJ is the “prime mover” of Benar.
For those of us who have already got the Benar website favourited and fail to read updates posted there on the progress of the above petition, perhaps we could also go to the CIJ website as prime mover of Benar to find out the latest developments on this front.
As Haris has clarified, ‘Boycott the Newspapers!’ has never been called off. Hartal took our foot off the pedal to allow the BENAR initiative to get off the ground. Because as we’d stated earlier, we support the group’s aim to encourage a free and fair media.

Their initiative too will very soon hit the 100-day mark and they should be producing their report card.
