Yes, that fool of a DPM wants to carry on the UMNO-PAS rap session to find solutions to what plagues Malays and Muslims!
If he truly can’t see the problem, he can talk until the cows come home and he’ll still be nowhere nearer figuring out the problem.
The curse of the Malays : UMNO
The bane of the Muslims : Islam-as I say-ists.
Period.
What’s there to figure out?
Get rid of UMNO and the Malays are freed from servitude to manipulative parasites.
Say no to the Islam-as I say-ists and Muslims will finally have the God-given space to think, to ask and to decide for themselves, and not have to submit to power-craving men who claim authority to speak for God.

Dear Haris,
Agree with you completely.
No reason to talk about Malay/Muslim unity when the end result is a selected few getting richer and richer while the rural Malays continue to suffer and continue to live below the poverty line.
The political parties, especially BN, should stop all this politiking and get down to the business of governing the country. They should be tackling the rising inflation, the slowing economy, reform the judiciary, implement the IPCMC, etc.
They should start working for the rakyat instead of continuing to harp about Malay unity and so on. If they are not able to run this country anymore, please resign and let someone else more capable take over. No point having Malay/Muslim unity when the ordinary rakyat cannot even make ends meet and living “kais pagi makan pagi, kais petang makan petang.”

He spent sleepless nights fighting PAS in Kelantan and today he says “Muslims and Malays” after his evil campaign nose dived and hit a snag. Evil is his judgement. I remember him lashing at AMENO rogues in Kelantan telling them that he got so tired in coming to Kelantan that now he needs “honey and milk and massage to do the job with his wife” (NST). Uff! What is that he now realises? He even used military aircrafts to try to defeat PAS in Kelantan. Today, he says Malays and Muslims, you think we are buffoons or what?

It is good that PAS and UMNO are talking. At least we are seeing their true colours vis-a-vis their political values.
Nik Aziz is true to form by saying that Islamic values and the current unethical system are contradictory. I believe Christians in DAP and MCA (albeit secretly) also share the ethics platform with PAS/PKR.
If UMNO or a portion of UMNO can convert its values to PAS, then we shall see UMNO’s foundational principle of race-based politics crumbling. Either reform from inside or join PAS for its “ethical” agenda. MCA should remain consistent and stand firm on its anti-Islamic state/hudud and pro-secular credentials.
Is MCA/MIC ready to join PKR if PAS and UMNO marries based on Islamic values? To the rakyat, a possible PAS/UMNO marriage could reveal the true colours of PAS, which is that it cannot be a willing partner with any non-Islamic party.
Furthermore, a PAS/UMNO alliance could put a multi-racial friendly ethical Islam on the fore front but have a hidden agenda of promoting, as you describe so well, a new Islam-as-I-say-it paradigm for Malaysia.

What’s plaguing the country is not to the exclusive burden of the Malays but all Malaysians except the UMNO people. The plague is sudden surge in the cost of living which makes it harder for the ordinary folks of all race, creed and colour to meet their basic needs of food, shelter and clothing. And they want to complicate things with Muslim unity – kononlah there is a war, cold or hot, between muslims now in this country! I think UMNO which is facing crisis, really thinks that there is opportunity to wag the dog and turn the table here.

UMNO wouldn’t be able to recognise Malay unity even if it jumped up and bit them in the ass.
But this has to happen with the Malays. You can’t expect a non-Malay to initiate change.
Crankshaft,
Think Bangsa Malaysia and push for change!

Harith,
A smart aleck lawyer I know once said, ‘I thought the problem with the country is the Malays’. Ergo..
The problem with the country is indeed the Malays. But we must put it another way. The Malay problem is still the problem facing the country. Dr M called it the Malay Dilemma.
If after 50 years we still cannot solve the Malay problem, then we have all failed. There is not a problem with the Chinese. They are normal human beings.
The Indians are ok and not ok depending on which Indian you are looking at. The estate folks are in real dire straits. The more succesful among the estate Indians are often called gangsters, drug pushers, ATM robbers (the fellows who used a back hoe to tow away the ATM machine were Indians) and of course our run of the ‘split your head open with a parang’ hired killers – also mostly Indians. These are all estate Indians or urban poor Indians.
We have also failed to address their problems. But disenfranchised Indians only rob and kill. Disnefranchised Malays make up 70% of the population and hence get to make the Laws of the land.
Here lies the threat to our well being. Given the power, a man who cannot compete will take what is not his. Hence the reason that we are on this Blog today.
UMNO or Pas is not the cause of this dilemma. It is agama and bahasa. Both are not the right ingredients to move the Malay forward.
The exact same problems impact the ‘Malay’ in Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia and South Thailand. The religion and language are not helping them cope with the realities of life. This is NOT a problem of Malay politics. It is a problem with the Malays.
The NEP is an attempt to rectify this Malay problem. But the NEP becomes horribly flawed because it is an attempt to use economics to cure what is actually a socio-cultural problem.
No amount of free loading is going to make an Orang Asli an urbanised condominium dweller. It just doesnt work that way. He has to be sanitised from his jungle environment. He must want to live in an urban environemnt. If he can fathom that then he must understand garbage collction, paying the monthly maintenance charges, not throwing cigarette butts into the pool etc. The Asli must be taken out of the Orang.
We have not taken the agama and the language out of the Malay. I am not saying that his agama and his language are flawed. No. But in the present set of circumstances (beginning say 500 years ago and possibly current for another 500 years or more) both cannot move him forward at sufficient speed. The Malay will keep falling behind.
Your Blog will remain active – a conduit of frustration for folks who do not know how to put an end to this misery.
Getting rid of UMNO is one option. Lets also get rid of Pas. PKR too. But lets fast forward to tomorrow morning. After we have got rid of these troublesome folks, what is the alternative we are promising?
Free press, abolish ISA, freedom to murtad will not mean much if the Malay (and the urban Indian, the Dayak and Sulu) cannot compete with the Chinese and some Indians. It will appear in other forms but we will be back to square one.
But we only live so long. The thing that we have to do now is get rid of UMNO and Pas. Also the PKR. I really do not trust these folks. Also the DAP. The Chiense are such a practical people but really I cannot understand why they want to be chauvinists. Chauvinism does not make money. There is no untung in chauvinism.

A fool?Haris,u r very generous and polite here.A real fool is someone who is genuinely ignorant and lovably innocent.
I would say these Umno devils are no fools! They feigned foolishness. They are actually greedy crooks out for power and money. They lied and even kill to get what they wanted. They are using politics to achieve their aims. They are not only destroying Malays/Muslims but other races are suffering too.
It is not that they can’t see the problems. If we the ordinary citizens can see,why can’t they the politicians?Rather, they refuse to admit there are problems. So,they just continue with their’semuanya OK!’
The economy is good, the people are united, the country is safe, blah, blah, blah when we all knew it is not.
I see these thugs not as fools but vipers, cobras or rattesnakes all in one pit.Hopefully, some day, someone will set it ablaze and burn them all to death!
Can’t help feeling angry mentioning them…..but thanks,Haris, for letting me let off steam in your blog.I hope you don’t mind.See,I feel better now!!

That’s right, “power-craving men who claim authority to speak for God.”
In Christianity, Jesus, as son of God, came to change all that, with his life.
How about Islam? When and who is going to change it?

Me think all these PAS-UMNO thingy is a diversion tactic cooked up by people in the corridors of power.
Think about it:
1. What better way to get everyone roused up than to bring up racial and religious issue? During TDM’s era we have seem it used numerous times with great success.
2. Why now?? When the political and economic situation is at its worst, where did this PAS-UMNO issue suddenly spring from?
3. The MSM has relegated all other matters away, and the critical news conveniently forgotten.
Hey, I may not be politically smart, but me not stupid either !!

Sorry Haris, my respectful and foc* advice to Muslims, and for that matter to Hindus, Christians, Buddhists or to sun/moon/daffodil/etc. worshippers is simply this:
Learn to think. It is a free gift given to all from a Loving God.
The way I see it, it is only the religious power-brokers and lackeys within the various man-made ideological contructs/political institutions called “religions” who want you and I to “fear” this God and to “pay” these self-serving and self-preserving people in some way to access/approach this free-to-all Loving God.
And two simple equations that I have distilled from all my learning on the subject of God and religion so far have been:
1. God = Love + Freedom = Power & Peace
2. Religion = Fear + Control = Power & Strife

You have a rare liberal view and faith of Malaysians. Certaintly very visionary and one I tend to agree. Getting rid of UMNO would free the minds of the Malays and set them on a path of long term strength. Fear of marginalization and short term pain while valid is simplistic. There are real pockets of strengths in Malaysian society to at least do better than what is going on. The current system cannot do better than a free willing society of people with proper law and order will do.

Spot on Haris,
Any race and religion based political party is a no no for me. Race and REligion have been used to manipulate and weaken the people since the time of Pharoah or even earlier. This paves the way for those in power that are corrupt (religion is corruption of the imploring mind) to pillage the country and people.
Could not agree with you more.

Hello Haris,
A few questions if you don’t mind.
Why are these, UMNO goons and PAS the very pious ullamas, holding muzakarah or muqabalah to unite the Malays and preserve the sanctity of Islam?
Are the Malays divided after the 12GE and their belief in Islam eroded to such an extent that these so-called discussions are necessary.
I have asked the same questions to some of my Malay friends who are as varied in their political beliefs and their take on Islam as the night and day. They say it is in the mindset of losers and the wannabe champions of the Malays and Islam.
They may differ in their political ideologies and in the teachings of Islam according to the Al Qura’n and Islam Hadhari but there is no disunity as a race or in the objects of Islamic knowledge.
According to these guys, such talks are just to hoodwink the ordinary people to believe their salvation is only with the UMNO and or PAS.
In a multi-racial and multi-religious country, don’t you think that such bipartisan approach would incur the suspicion of the other races and religions?
Would such discussions bring about the cohesiveness for the evolution of a truly Malaysian identity?
Apart from the above, the PM and the cabinet take their oath of office in the presence of the King. The appointments of the IGP, heads of the armed forces and the judiciary are also approved by the King.
As such, doesn’t the King as the paramount ruler of the nation have the power to sack any of the above if found to be detrimental to the good governance of the nation?
Is there provision in the Federal Constitution to dissolve Parliament and impose emergency rule under the King until fresh elections are held?
I ask the above questions as lot of hopes and wishes of the rakyat are expressed in the blogs that the King and sultans would take some proactive actions to bring about an end to the stalemate in the current political environment.
As it is the crediblity of the government is at an all time low. Price of essential household products are soaring after the hasty hike in fuel prices. Inflation is in and heading for double digit if nothing tangible is done. Yet, nobody in power seems to care.
Hope I am not taking too much of your time with these queries. Thanks.
mauryaII,
Wow, that’s a lot of queries.
hope to answer them all in a number of postings that will follow.
Meanwhile, let me just say that your Malay friends are right.

” Deputy Prime Minister Najis Abdul Razak has expressed hope that the Umno-PAS muzakarah (dialogue) will continue in finding solutions to problems plaguing Malays and Muslims in the country……………”
=================================================================
from the message above, it shows that he(the Najis minister) is lacking of confident in his religion and also under estimate the malay, even the RAKYAT of Malaysia.
Malay or muslim unity ?!
For who ? !
To against someone ?!
Haaaaaaaaaaaa…………….
Religion is not a product, do not needs any TV , Radio or even written commercial to promote .
Religion isn’t something like washing powder(serbuk cuci)named “cap Parang”, needs a lots of talk , publicity or promotion or free gift given out or discount provided in order to sell up the product.
If he think so, meaning he is looking down on his belief.
He also under estimate the malay. The malay main obstacle for progression is from the “Umno – the backward driver” and “Pas – the religious loud speaker”
Truely god’s believers will not talk about god in his or her mounth always like a promotion’s product.
Think !
Think !
Think !
Unless you are looking down your on religion !
Unless you are looking down your on religion !
Unless you are looking down your on religion !
Unless you are looking down your on religion !
