BN’s obscene defeat showed that the rakyat is very fed up with Pak Lah’s administration and that there is a limit for the treatment of Anwar Ibrahim. It also showed UMNO has become irrelevant and is being rejected over and over again. The rakyat wants unity, transparency, fight against corruption and better treatment to the rakyat especially the poors regardless of races because poor people also has the right to be called rakyat Malaysia.
So Pak Lah, Najib, Keris Sham and Khairy, please find yourselves some burial plot. Bring Hamid, Pasir Salak fella and yes, Bung Mokhtar together.

This thumping 17,662 majority victory by DSAI represents a clear mandate from the Rakyat (People) for DSAI and his PR Alliance to capture the Malaysian Federal Government currently ruled by the BN/Umno regime since independence from Britain in 1957. Many see this victory as Independence for Malaysia from the corrupt and authoritarian BN/Umno regime of PM Abdullah Badawi…More http://margeemar.blogspot.com

And for those of you who think that this PP result is going to send any message at all to the dumb and deaf BN, think again. This is not going to happen.
Remember, even whent hey take any sports teams overseas they go with a bag full of excuses. So you can bet there will be exuses galore that will account for this loss, so saving face..so they will say.
Next question is, who is going to make history among the disgusted and ashamed MPs in the BN, who cannot find it conscionable sitting one moment longer alongside their fellow BN MPs, to now cross over?

We should thank the following for this victory
Khairy Beruk – for antagonizing the voters with your arrogance
Najib – for swearing culture and making a mockery of the religion
Pak Tidur – for lying again when petrol price was reduced before Sept.1
NgYenYen – for trying to “bribe” voters and thinking they are stupid when she said “aow jit, lu eh hiau cho” (meaning, you know what to do”)
Botak – for trying to pass DNA Bill quickly

That BN terbalik image is apt in many ways.
Distress signal. UMNOputras large and small panic. Cronies unlimited holding emergency barinstorming sessions.
BN coalition in chaos. Everything upside down. Massive power structure collapse. Fighting and power grabs combined with stabs-in-backs. Warlords and once-buddies targetting leaders without hold on power any more.
Assorted BN figures looking for escape plans (the upside down symbol looks exactly like a pair of parachutes to me! BAIL OUT!) and ships to jump to (ABANDON SHIP!). Kataks stretching and warming up their now-vital jumping skills.
Long overdue but clearly none-too-soon downfall of BN.
May Anwar stay true to his declared goals and aims.

THE MALAYSIAN MALAY ~ DR SYED ALWI
Wonder how long more before our Malay brothers wake up to the harsh realities of this globalised world?
THE MALAYSIAN MALAY
by Dr Syed Alwi of Singapore
Dear Editor,
As you know, I am an avid watcher of Malaysian affairs. I must confess that lately, Malaysia appears to be failing. Not a day passes by without more events that clearly highlight Malaysia ās race-religion fault-line. If things keep going this way, I fear for Malaysia ās future.
Today, schools in Singapore celebrate Racial Harmony Day. I can
visibly see the joy in the childrenās faces as they wear their ethnic
costumes and have fun together at school. But in Malaysia – even the right to choose a religion has become a sensitive, national issue. No doubt, there are many in Malaysia who hate my liberal views on Islam, family included. But I will say what I must say openly. I have come to the conclusion that Malaysia cannot progress any further without first addressing fundamental questions regarding its identity and soul.
I remember the days when we can laugh at Latās cartoons on everyday Malaysian life. But sadly, the Islamic tide has polarised Malaysians. Some people ask why I should bother about Malaysian affairs since I am a Singaporean. May I remind Malaysians that it was Tan Siew Sin who once said that Singapore and Malaysia are Siamese Twins. Should Malaysia go down – it would hurt the region tremendously. Especially Singapore ..
Where do you think Malay apostates would head for if Lina Joy loses her case? Singapore of course! I find the Malaysian Malay to be very under-exposed. For them, itās all Islam and the NEP and everything under the sun would sort itself out. I am sorry to say this – but Islam and the NEP may be the cause of the undoing of the Malaysian Malay.
There is nothing wrong with religion or affirmative action. But, like
everything else in life, they must be taken in moderation and with a pinch of salt. A little doubt is good. Unfortunately in Malaysia ,
emotions over Islam have overcome reason. What we see today is the result of the NEP and Islamisation policies of the past thirty years or so.
No one owes Malaysian Malays a living. Let me assure you that should Malaysia fail – the Malaysian Malay will suffer enormously. And rightly so. After all – they have been pampered with all sorts of goodies over the years. They cannot now expect more goodies. Perhaps the day of reckoning for them, is near. Whatever it is, Malaysia had better wake up to the realities around her. The globalised world of the 21st century has no NEP to offer the Malaysian Malay. And humans cannot live by religion alone.
Regards,
Dr Syed Alwi.

PASS IT ON, TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE esp. the Malays.
May your day be filled with all things good.

The voice of the people have spoken through Permatang Pauh. If BN does not take heed, it will dig its own grave and bury itself.
The first step to Putrajaya has been taken but an arduous journey lies ahead. The dishonourable speaker of Parliament says there is no rush to swear in Anwar. The botak Syed Hamid is relentlessly rushing the DNA bill through Parliament. The ACA has wants to question Nalla on the RM60 million allegation. (How efficient to act on unconfirmed rubbish spewed out by a political enemy).
The next step is to help Anwar fight the sodomy allegation. We are solidly behind you, DSAI!!

As for you Haris – you have shown the mainstream media what ‘latest news update’ actually means.
Let the shows begin – don’t forget the popcorn!

The-Avathar, first we must pressure the government to swear the new MP that was chosen by the people, in a timely manner. Pandikar must act professionally. The Internet will never let him or his family forget how he brought shame upon himself if he does not behave. Everything is archived. Nothing can be swept under the carpet.
Secondly, we must remind all the hard working civil servants to make copies of all the documents as these will be shredded soon. They can use these copies as evidence for future bargaining to atone for their wrong doings. As Kodomo Lion said, we should not punish the wrong doers who have reported themselves in. š

The Barisan Rakyat blogger team have indeed raised the benchmark for information dissemination to stratospheric levels, surpassing even Mkini’s capabilities.
Passion alone goes a very long way. Everything else seems irrelevant or immaterial by comparison.
Well done, guyz. Wait for the adrenaline levels to come down before you start driving, ok.
Oh yeah, congrats to AI too. I guess he’s got a better job now.

The BN is indeed a damn bad loser. I have been turning onto RTM 1 & 2 including TV3 every now and again between 9.00 pm and 11.00 pm tonight and there was no announcement whatsoever of the by-election results. The results must be heart-rending. Instead RTM 1 beamed the past Olympics swimming events while RTM 2 and TV3, movies. Come on, Minister of Information, you ought to step down from your position. You just do not know what is important and what is not important anymore.
Top marks to BBC which put up a news flash stating that DSAI had won the Permatang Pauh By-Election by a convincing majority.
Congratulations to DSAI for the victory. Gratitude should also be attributed to all the supporters who voted for PKR. Besides, thanks to the helpers and the die-hard bloggers who have put in their efforts and time to monitor every minute of the by-election.
The BN had deployed all sorts of devious underhand means in an attempt to bring down DSAI; they failed miserably. They applied all the old and worn-out tricks and tactics. The plucked the same old strings and sand the same old songs at every election. They did not realise the wind of change had swept the country. They deserve to lose.
The masses are fed up with the BN’s 50+ years of mal- and mis-administration that have wrought the country socially, economically and politically. Corruption is rife; cronyism is blatant; the civll service leaves much to be desired; massive squandering of national resources; high incidents of empty promises and excesses; incredible judiciary; ridiculously high price-hike of fuel and diesel; escalating food prices; lob-sided award of scholarships; qualified students not given courses of their choice; pervasive leaders’ arrogance, selfishness & avarice.
Another sad development is the rise of religious bigotry which has resulted in untold miseries to the affected Malaysians – destruction of temples, burying the dead, proscription of usage of religious words and phrases; causing undue hardship to approve plans for building of places of worship; and a lot of other matters.
By virtue of the dictatorial and insensitive administration, BN have divided the once united and harmonious Malaysians by race, religion and language. Despite numerous representations, you just ignored them and continued to persist in the persuit of the highly distructive divide-and-rule policy of the British imperialism.
Well the by-election results have once again spoken. They are well appreciated, I ama sure, by the modern elites who want change for the better, not only for themselves but for their children and children’s children. And, the fact remains, they really care. Bravo! Keep up the spirit and the fight.
I can now sleep peacefully and I shall rejoice when I wake up. So my friends, stay united, calm and peaceful.
May God bless all of you. Good Night.

Just heard on TV3 the EC gnome confirming 81% voter turnout. That’s also mean DSAI secured 2/3 of votes cast.
But for now, now just let me sit back & enjoy my glass of mateus rose. AAh, that taste of victory. Divine!!
Next, Putrajaya. No rest for the wicked! Ha, ha.

All of you guys should have seen the “real” atmosphere in PP where Malaysians from PR really worked as “Malaysians”. It’s very heartening to see real interactions between the truthfull malays, chinese, indians etc… Keep up the good work and we all can have a brighter future for Malaysians.
Just look at the dumbfounded face of any BN supporter, or whatever left of them after the polls ended at 5pm and you can really have a good laugh. No joke really, these people are really clueless about the whole scenarios and think the rakyat is still easily being manipulated…
At last, can afford to dream again….

Thank you so much for keping us updated yesterday. It was a blackout on the TV news (except for a news except on NTV 7). It was my sister-in-law in Singapore that called to tell us about Anwar’s victory (as well as being updated by your blog).

Certaintly this is demoralizing to BN. BN actually rarely loses in by-elections because they can throw their entire national machinery at one small location. Their future leader Najib threw everything he got, every dirt he could, very bullet he could and he was the one coming out smelling rotten.
The BN rank and file will still take consolation that Arif still got 15,000 votes. The warlords will be more concern because they know the 15,000 is fake and in a national campaign, it will not hold up.
The DNA-get-Anwar campaign is going to go on overdrive if Najib even want one full term as PM.

Speaking of self-inflicted burials, I wonder if that inflated Oxfordmoron speciman from the deep, dark and green jungles of Rembau can help me with what “padan muka” means in BM so Haris, I hope you won’t mind me taking this small liberty here to ask him that through your site here? (thanks)
To KJ somewhere on the 4th floor of Pj/in deep Rembau:

And “Schadenfreude” please in your OED? Thanks!

Dear Haris,
I am amazed at the tide of disapproval of the current administration, especially from the Malays. You, as a Malay cannot deny that you have benefited from the policies of a BN-led government. You have to acknowledge that you are what you are today because UMNO skewered the rules in your favour. What in Godās name are the Malays complaining about?
Whilst it is acknowledged that there is a level of corruption within the present regime, which government in the world is completely free of corruption? The brilliance of Dr Mahathir in elevating corruption to an acceptable way of life, and in fact perfecting it to an art had noble objectives. The objectives of the NEP were achieved in record time because a small degree of ācorruption and cronyismā was allowed to exist. How else was Dr Mahathir going to uplift the economic plight of the Malays within his lifetime? Today, more Malays than we ever dreamed of are millionaires and billionaires ā probably you included. The trickle down effect of their wealth to all Malays in general cannot be doubted. How can the Malays possibly complain about UMNO when it is UMNO that has ensured that the vast majority of us have three square meals everyday. I find it disgusting that the Malays lack any appreciation of the macro benefits of a BN government led by UMNO.
When AAB took over, it was with a flair and gusto never expected of him. He has used the mechanism of minor corruption even more efficiently in fulfillment of the objectives of the NEP. Under his courageous leadership, the sheer numbers of successful Malays and the wealth created have surpassed Mahathir’s efforts in over 22 years in a space of 5! Therefore the present UMNO leaders may rightly be considered to be modern day āRobin Hoodsā – for lack of a better description. So, again, how can the Malays possibly complain about the largesse being dished out to them without fear or favour?
Corruption and cronyism are not two separate ills but two sides of the same coin. Therefore, for reasons stated above, cronyism is a necessary element in the efficient and expeditious fulfillment of the objectives of the NEP. So stop whining about cronyism as if it were a crime to have a few friends around you who naturally benefited from your station….
There is much talk about drawing comparisons with what is perceived as the more successful economies in the region, such as Singapore, South Korea, etc. Let’s not get stupid about this. The priorities of their economies hugely differ from the priorities of ours. Their economies were not bogged down by economic inequities amongst or between races, demographic imbalances, effects of colonisation and the quirks of an inherited administration.
All you bloggers out there: Sit down and take proper stock of the peculiarities of our nation, rather than to try and be like some other nation. Your dreams are misplaced and unsuited to our beloved nation. And your championed leader, DSAI, will bring this beautiful country to ruin by attempting to emulate his Western masters. He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and will sell out the rakyat for his personal glory and ego. The more likely scenario is that ā it will be business as usual ā whether it is an BN administration or Pakatan Rakyat. Do you honestly believe that anything will change just because DSAI is the Prime Minister?
Get real, people!!! Just as Mr. Clean originally intended to implement some changes only to discover that it was impossible, DSAI too will eventually ājoin them when he canāt beat themā. Maybe not even eventually but rather at the onset ā he is after all brilliant!!!
So, Haris, for Godās sake, stop leading the Malays up the garden path and to their eventual slaughter.
BN Sakthi!
