DAP hosted some 600 Chinese to dinner again last night at the Ocean Restaurant.

Diners in the hall

Diners on the beachside

Non-diners on the roadside
Well DAP hosted, but the diners paid for it.
Yes, RM30 each.
That’s the difference between the DAP ceramahs with that of UMNO’s.
UMNO has to roll out the freebies and ferry in mercenaries from out of town to make up numbers at their ceramah.
Or hold lucky draws like they did at Cerong Lanjut the night before.
Motorcycle and LCD TV were up for grabs.
And after the goodies were grabbed, the crowd disappeared.
With DAP, people contribute funds to be able to listen to their speakers.
UMNO should ponder on this.
Some of you may be wondering by now what all this has to do with the title of this post.
It’s to do with what one of the speakers said.
There were quite a few speakers today,
but I’m going to focus on just two.

Datuk Zaid was a surprise guest. And whilst he was not intending to speak, he obliged YB LKS who urged him to say a few words. And what powerful words they were!
Zaid touched on the need to move away from the politics of race, to move away from parties that strived only to look out for the interests of their own.
He said he was concerned about the matter of race relations in the country but was pleased to note that that Pakatan Rakyat partners were seriously working to forge a coalition that looked into the interests of all the rakyat without focussing on ethnicity.
He advised the voters of Kuala Terengganu to think carefully on who they would vote for. He would not tell them who to vote for.
If it were him, though, he said, he would vote for Pakatan Rakyat, to the loud applause of the crowd.
The second speaker was Nik Aziz, who I was told by one of the PAS folk in attendance, insisted on attending even though he was unwell.
Whilst waiting for his arrival, someone in the audience expressed some concern about Nik Aziz’s attendance, given that beer was being consumed in the hall. He said Nik Aziz never entered any premises where alcohol was being served.
He arrived to a rousing welcome from those in attendance.

Nik Aziz being greeted at the entrance

Would not enter cos alcohol was being served? The man partook of the food specially prepared for him!
Presumably because of his poor health, he did not say much, but the little that he said meant so much to me.
He said race considerations had no place in Islam.
Even the Holy Prophet, he stressed, was explicit in that the Arabs were not to enjoy any superiority over others on account of their race.
He emphasised again and again thatIslam had reached China some one thousand years ago, well before Islam reached the Malays here.
He alluded to the verse in the Holy Qur’an that narrated that all of mankind were descended from Adam and Eve.
And then what he said left me with a lump in my throat. I’ll translate this as best as I can.
“The Chinese are sons of Adam. The Malays, too, are sons of Adam”
I’ll end this post with more photos from the evening.

YB Anwar Tan, I'm told, delivered a powerful speech. I didn't understand a word. A BR blogger who did will be posting about this. Will alert you when he does.

Who wants to say now that PAS and DAP will never be able to get along?

YBs Tio and Chong Eng

Extreme left is Phang. Next to him is Man. The one on the extreme right and the one next to him are. like Phang, Chinese. They have one thing in common. All are members of the PAS supporters club

Some of the Barisan Rakyat team listening intently

I met Tan (extreme right ) a couple of nights ago. Lively discussion. Tan, you owe me an e-mail!

This couple, who now reside in the UK, and are Penangites, are in KT to see and hear for themselves the change that's taking place.

I recall a song, it goes something like this, “MONEY CAN’T BUY ME LOVE…”
As a Chinese and have voted since Merdeka, I have not given any interest to PAS in my go old days. Today, I feel different, I feel of a sort of brotherhood with PAS. Time changes thing. I am confident all PR coalition will eventually find the middleground.
Can we say the same for BN? Half a century now, since Merdeka, these scums from UMNO, MCA and MIC still playing the racist card. Insulting the dignity of the rakyat by using bribes to clinch on to power. If they refuse to change, WE, the rakyat will change them. They are no blooming good at all!

MCA for Chinese…..
OTHERS………………??? (So left out!)
Well…. it goes to show that they CAN’T work together ! That’s why they need a seperate entity. Right..!
PRK is the united front for us Malaysians !

Dear Haris
You are right at the pulse of the rakyat! Feel the unity, the camaraderie…hmmmm perhaps even already sensing the victory! So there we are, no need to have even one nasty bone in your body – your goodness is all it takes for the people to come together. Happy 2009!

Appreciated the updates. Can’t get any good news from the main stream media. Even Astro Bernama Ch502 or Awani Ch501 do not broadcast any updated news. I think the news should heavily highlights about all the polis personals and unnecessary road blocks in KT.
At the same time, crime is still happening in other parts of Malaysia. Polis Raja Di Malaysia is doing a splendid job! Kudos!

Wow! KT has become a melting pot of anak bangsa malaysia. Reminds me of the Feb/Mar 08 (SubangJaya).
Empty seats at a lavish sit-down dinner on one side; whilst on the other side (just a short distance away)
tens of thousands packed at a padang, people put $$ in the collection boxes, NO food served … and drenched in a downpour (showers of blessing).
This truly indicates the winds of change a-blowing ..

Well and good. Pretty unifying. This is fine. Just don’t let PAS use the “we are all sons of Adam” argument to propose the “Islam/Islamic Law therefore applies to everyone/will work well for everyone” nonsense. With PAS and its central agenda for an Islamic State, this caution is perfectly justifiable.
Nik Aziz and Hadi Awang may say that “if people learn and know about Islamic principles, they will know that it is fair and good for everyone”. No offence to Tuan Guru Nik Aziz but they simply cannot comprehend the converse, that “if Muslims know about Christian or Hindu or Buddhist principles, they will know that it is ALSO fair and good for everyone”.
In that case, which is the best principle to apply for all? Here is the answer: all of it, yet none of it. What do we do then? Here is the answer again: Secularism.
I hope Nik Aziz and all PAS followers get that into their heads first and foremost.

As I read this post I felt a lump in my throat. How wonderful to see leaders from PAS & DAP sitting together and being sincere to one another, among other things. The message one would gather from this event is both parties agree to abolish race-based politics and move onwards to principles, values based ones.
Keep up the good work Haris!

You can cheat the people for some time but fifty years of plundering and cheating the coffers of the nation is too much. It looks like the coffers of the nation is their own kitty bank and therefore UMNO must be removed otherwise nothing would be left for our Children’s Children as the riches of Malaysia will be syphoned off by all these UMNO thieves, robbers & goons.
Look at the Billions in Wang Ehsan from Petronas for Terengganu State that were squandered by the present PeeM and his SIL Khairy on the Crystal Mosque and the Mariner Yacht Club and the other many Billions of the Federal Government are lost through the expensive purchasing of Helicopters, Aircrafts and Submarines by DeePM Narjis the most greedy of the lot who selected the most expensive so that he can receive kickbacks and bribes and resulting in the murdering of Altantuya for uneven split distribution of the loot. Do you think you can trust him to be the next PeeM, probably he would have sold off Malaysia including his mother for some gravy.

Genesis [the book of Beginnings]
Ge 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
Ge 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
Ge 5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
Ge 5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
Ge 5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

Apostle Paul said this at Mars Hill (Acts chapter 17)
“…And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth…”
22 ¶ Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.
30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

There is certainly nothing unIslamic for a Muslim to eat in a place that serves alcohol (or pork?) and among winebibbers (or pork eaters?) as long as he abstains from both.

Hi Harris and gang,
I hope to draw your attention to the smear campaign against Anwar Ibrahim by the turn-coat Ezam. While I may have lingering suspicions about Anwar myself, I hope to draw yours and others attention to the Prime Minister and the 3 pillars of democracy and to tell the KT electorate that what is important is to first change the Federal Government and put into place a system of check and balances between the Executive (PM and Cabinet), the Parliament (MPs government and oppositions) and the Judiciary. I have confidence in Pakatan Rakyat to put in this system of check and balance and will like to appeal to the KT voters to vote for a change.

Only the pharisaic UMNOputra hypocritically keep away from the sinners!
========
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Truly I tell you that God has reached out to all the people in KT and made known his persona through His humble servants here. All voters, with a conscience, will return to vote for HIM! In His time he will reveal the wickedness, corruption and greed which has become inseparable with those in the corridors of power and through His humble servants His glory shall expose and humiliate them. Glory be to our God who knows all and sees all.

The following is an extract of the doa recited at the launching of the book “Taib Andak – In A Class Of His Own” recently which, I think, conveys the same message as that of Tok Guru’s speech:
O ALLAH, LET’S HAVE MORE PEOPLE LIKE HIM, WHO WILL MAKE THIS MULTIRACIAL AND MULTI-RELIGIOUS COUNTRY A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE IN.
LET THERE BE PEACE, UNDERSTANDING AND CO-OPERATION AMONG ALL OF US, IN LINE WITH THE TEACHINGS OF ISLAM – OUR OFFICIAL RELIGION.
THE RELIGION THAT YOU HAVE REVEALED TO PROPHET ADAM, NOAH, ABRAHAM, MOSES, JESUS – AND FINALISED IN THE MESSAGE OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PEACE BE UPON ALL OF THEM)
O ALLAH,WE ALL BELONG TO ONE BIG FAMILY FOUNDED BY YOUR PROPHET ADAM AND HIS SPOUSE EVE OR HAWA (PEACE BE UPON BOTH OF THEM) OF WHICH ALL OF US PRESENT ARE THEIR DESCENDANTS.
THEREFORE, O ALLAH, PROTECT US FROM ANY CHAUVINISTIC INCLINATION. GIVE US ALL, THE COMMON SENSE TO LIVE LIKE A BIG FAMILY SHOULD – AS BROTHERS, SISTERS AND COUSINS – IN TOTAL SUBMISSION TO YOU AS LORD OF ALL CREATIONS.
THERE IS NO NEED FOR ANY SQUABBLE, O ALLAH, AS YOU HAVE PROVIDED ENOUGH FOR EVERYBODY’S NEED – THOUGH NOT QUITE ENOUGH FOR EVERYBODY’S GREED.
GRANT US, O ALLAH, PROPER UNDERSTANDING IN MATTERS OF OUR RELIGION. GIVE US THAT GUIDING LIGHT SO THAT WE CAN MAKE OUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRUTH AND FALSEHOOD, BETWEEN WHAT’S LAWFUL AND WHAT’S FORBIDDEN.
O ALLAH, GRANT US THAT INNER PEACE AND THE TRANQUILITY THAT WE BADLY NEED – THAT CAN ONLY BE ATTAINED BY LIVING IN ACCORDANCE WITH WHAT YOU HAVE DECREED.
FORGIVE OUR PARENTS’ AS WELL AS OUR OWN SINS, LAPSES, IGNORANCE AND ARROGANCE. REKINDLE IN OUR HEARTS, O ALLAH, THAT SENSE OF COMPUNCTION. AND DO NOT DENY US, O ALLAH, THE OPPORTUNITY TO REPENT AND MAKE AMENDS.
O ALLAH, WE ARE NOW LIVING IN AN ERA OF HEDONISM AND CRASS MATERIALISM. SPARE US, OUR CHILDREN, OUR GRAND-CHILDREN FROM THEIR CORRUPTING INFLUENCE.
GIVE US THE STRENGTH, THE COURAGE AND THE WILL, TO BE PART OF THE SOLUTION AND NOT PART OF THE PROBLEM.
O ALLAH, ONLY YOU HAVE THE POWER TO GUIDE WHOM YOU PLEASE AND TO LET ASTRAY WHOM YOU PLEASE.
THEREFORE, O ALLAH, SHOW US THE STRAIGHT WAY – THE WAY OF THOSE ON WHOM YOU HAVE BESTOWED YOUR GRACE, THOSE WHO HAVE NOT INCURRED YOUR WRATH AND THOSE WHO HAVE NOT DEVIATED FROM THE STRAIGHT PATH.
FINALLY, O ALLAH, GRANT US THE STRENGTH AND THE HUMILITY TO PROSTRATE BEFORE YOU, DURING THE DAY AS WELL AS AT NIGHT TIME. FROM YOU WE ALL CAME, AND TO YOU WE DEFINITELY SHALL RETURN AND BEFORE YOU WE’LL BE MADE TO ACCOUNT FOR ALL OUR ACTS OF COMISSION AS WELL AS OUR ACTS OF OMISSION.
