Will PKR shoot the messengers and ignore the damning message?

On 30th September, one Ng Lum Yong held a press conference to disclose evidence he had received, in the form of a taped telephone conversation between two individuals, that pointed to a conspiracy to topple Selangor MB, Khalid Ibrahim.

I had written of this HERE.

Ng was able to identify one of the two voices in the taped conversation as that of one Ramlan Abu Bakar, who has been involved in an initiative called Reformis, and known to Ng for a long time.

At the press conference, Ng called on the PKR leadership to launch an investigation into this matter.

All of yesterday and right up to the time of writing up this posting, there has been no reported official response from PKR HQ to this issue.

Instead, late yesterday, Zorro wrote of a statement apparently released by the party Sec-Gen that party members who make statements that tarnish the image of the party will be subjected to disciplinary action.

Utusan Online reports that it was able to catch up with Ramlan Abu Bakar to get his response to Ng’s revelation.

You can read that Utusan report HERE.

In yet another Utusan Online report, Ng is quoted to have said that the identity of the other speaker has been ascertained and will be disclosed in the coming days.

Interestingly, and in seeming reference to that statement by the party Sec-Gen that Zorro spoke of, Ng is also reported to have said that he is ready to face disciplinary action for his revelations provided Zaid and Azmin, too, who, he says have been making statements of and concerning the party, be subjected to the same disciplinary action.

Jadi saya harap tiada perbezaan hukuman nanti” , Ng is quoted as saying.

Yes, yes, I know, these are Utusan reports and should be taken with a huge dose of salt.

Surely, though, the PKR leadership cannot now just ignore this issue?

Quoting Ng again from that last Utusan report :

Can PKR continue to ignore this?

Worse yet, take action against Ng for exposing this matter, without investigation to get at the truth of this allegation?
