“The outgoing national vice president stressed that his struggle had “never been about party posts or positions”. It had always been and would continue to be about Sabah and Sarawak rights and autonomy, he added.
“This is a struggle that cuts across the political divide in Sabah and Sarawak and it could do without any distractions.”
He decision appears to signal a subtle shift in his current position from being party politician to that of a statesman for Sabah and Sarawak “while re-capturing the moral high ground on what his politics is all about”. – Joe Fernandez, on Jeffrey Kitingan’s declining to contest in the PKR national elections, in Malaysiakini.
Jeffrey, my sources in Kota Kinabalu tell me, was on course to win, if he had chosen to accept the nominations for the position of vice president.
What are the implications, if any, of his decision to not contest, for PKR in Sabah?

PKR should give its support to Mr. Jeffrey. PKR should not contest in Batu Sapi, but to give support to who ever are contesting against BN. Mr. Jeffrey is above partisan politic already. One less meaningless political party fight. Sabahan need Mr. Jeffery more than PKR. If Mr. Jeffry manage to defeat BN in Sabah, its a win for PKR too……… To Support Mr. Jeffrey, eventhough he is no longer with PKR, is the most sensible thing to do. its a Win – Win situation for both PKR and Sabahan.

I think a correction is needed here – Jeffrey is NOT leaving PKR just yet. He merely withdrew his candidacy for Vice President post in PKR.

Anwar’s chosen will lead in Sabah. The non-Muslim Bumiputras will have to find another home/party/platform, in due course (i.e. at the right time).
I wonder if it will be the same in Sarawak if Baru is not elected VP?

Anwar and PKR is slowly evolving into a UMNO clone. Anwar and his cronies in PKR just don’t seem to be able to get rid of their ketuanan mentality. Why can’t they allow a Sabahan or a Sarawakian irrespective whether he is a Muslim or not be in charge of PKR in these two states?
Why should they try to stamp their exUMNO religious and racist hagemony on the bumiputras of these two states? Is it because they feel giving autonomy in political affairs to indigenous Sabahans or Sarawakians would deny and deprive them of an insidious hold on them?
If whatever Anwar does is with the ulterior motive of curtailing the bargaining powers of local leaders, then he is no better than the evil mamak Mahathir Mohamad Kutty who came up with the easy Mykad plan to Islamize Sabah with officially approved pendatangs from Indonesia and Mindanao.
Mamak created a vote bank in Sabah to vote out PBS from power. The stupid Kadazan Pairin and his family members decided to join BN to fleece the Sabahans of whatever is left. They are the ones who let UMNO/BN rob and piratize Sabah clean.
It is high time Sabahans ditch the traitors in their midst. If they feel PKR is taking them for a ride along UMNO/BN lines, they should say NO and throw their weight and votes for Jeffrey Kittingan. Jeffrey is a better bet to lead them than the others.
Anwar and his cronies denying Jeffrey to head PKR in Sabah is a clear indication that they fear him and do not want a strong leader who could champion the rights of the Sabahans. They want a Muslim poodle who would dance to their tune.
Does that fulfill the aspirations of the Sabahans? Would such a poodle leader be able to shake off the shackles and demand what is their due from the federal government?

If I were Sabahan I would give support to JK.
Despite their abundance of resources, how much has the typical S&S inhabitant gained?
It is time for them to stand up & be counted!

If the top PKR leaders have any brains left, instead of just balls, they should put on their thinking caps and support Jeffrey for the seat.
It will go a long, long way for PKR and Pakatan Rakyat’s future! For Malaysia’s future!

Does JK think that he did not stand a chance when he withdrew? I personally would have voted for him in the peninsula and I believe a few thousands would have too.
Just hoping that he would not cut off ties with PKR in spite of the scant support he had from the top leaders.

Old goats JeffreyK and Yong Teck Lee have had their chance and tell me what real contribution had they made to Rakyat and party when they sat on high stools?
It’s pay-back time! They should instead step aside and whole-heartedly help the young who had been carrying their banners all those years! We need fresh blood, let’s support the young, give new ideas a chance and propel Pakatan Rakyat forward not just pkr, dap or pas if we want to get to Putra Jaya fast!

I am surprised so many readers are still giving credit to the current leaders in keadilan and appealing them to THINK.How can no brainer think is beyond me and it take another no brainer to suggest it.
The coming change will be dramatic and will catch every one by surprise. The Third force will rule. How it manifest is everyone’s guess as Tuhan is playing this very close to his chest.
