…We believe that the RM5billion development cost of the mega project should be used to improve various aspects of the Malaysian society such as:
– To improve the infrastructure of schools such as building of basic necessity i.e. toilets, provision of free books and assistance to school children in the rural areas in East Malaysia and West Malaysia – Sabah and Sarawak.
– To eradicate poverty and improve the standard of living by providing assistance to hardcore poor, particularly the rural areas in East Malaysia and West Malaysia – Sabah and Sarawak.
– To improve the healthcare system and service such as building of daycare and dialysis centre, replacement and improvement of equipments and facilities in hospitals; particularly in the rural areas in East Malaysia and West Malaysia – Sabah and Sarawak.
– To provide assistance and improve standard of living such as building infrastructure to cater to the basic needs such as electricity and water facilities, road and transportation to the Orang Asli (indigenous people) of East Malaysia and West Malaysia – Sabah and Sarawak.
– To provide assistance that caters to the daily needs of the OKUs (orang kurang upaya/disabled person) such as providing trainings to enable them to enter into job market and building of road pavements and infrastructure to enable mobility.
– To provide assistance to the less fortunate/elderly people such as building of old folks home and day care centre.
– To improve on public transportation and to reduce traffic problems of major towns and cities and making the major towns and cities a livable city.
We therefore call for the immediate abolishment of the proposed development of the 100 Storey Mega Tower.

Why need to build another high raise building when there are many stil living in poverty. The money, even if from PNB will be better spent in improving the poor.

It’s a big “NO” to such iresponsible use of public funds on such unnecessary project that don’t benefit the ordinary people but their cronies!
This is downright ‘abuse of power’ by the sitting government for giving a nod to this project.
Government money is tax-payers’, our money and big chunk$ have been invested in PNB and the Rakyat have the right to be consulted.
If they so desperately need to flap their ego, then by all means they should use their own funds!
Go ahead, build the tallest super mega structure that surpass height of Kurj Khalifa of Dubai which is almost 1km up into the sky.
I would even suggest they build one that keeps growing with scope to increase its height every year to maintain world record of “tallest” for next 100 years! Why stop at No.2?

I SUPPORT the idea of this 100-storey Tower!!!!!
SUPPORT!!! SOKONG!!! SUPPORT!!!
This will help Malaysia PROSPER in many ways. I DON’T blame everyone for thinking this a an STUPID idea but I’m confident this this idea will make many people eat their own words back soon.
MAHATHIR proved to many including experts that pegging the RINGGIT against USD was a CRAZY MOVE & to avoid borrowing from IMF was even a CRAZIER move back in the late 90’s. However, such CRAZY MOVE became SUPERB MOVE.
You guys need to be WISER sikit in view to see the BIGGER PICTURE.

Bank Negara Malaysia(BNM) reports central govt debt at RM388b in 2nd qtr 2010 (total current liabilities).
When you don’t have that kinda money but with an over inflated ego, go build sand castles lah!

“If you built it, he (they) will come”
fr movie “Field of dreams”
The 100 storey may well be 102 (to be higher than Taipei 101) or who knows how much higher?
Our esteemed leaders are not taking “NO” for an answer. This mega project seems fait accompli regardless of how desperate the poor are becoming, how many kids are not educated, how many schools needing facilities, how many crimes there are etc.
NONE of these issues matter.
What matters is “CHINNKKK! Another million (or 2 or 50) in my pocket!!”

Why are we always going round and round ? Is this typical Malaysian cowardice ? Go straight to the point !
If we are sincere and want to help poor abused Malaysia , set up a petition to demand Najib resigns as Prime Minister !
This makes more sense and is really what Malaysians need now

The indecent haste in ‘signing’ the 9 contracts were obviously to preempt any public outcry that yet again they were no tenders probably to UMNO cronies so that the RM30 billion of taxpayers’ money can be funnelled back to the BN War Chest to buy votes in the upcoming GE13 on the “You help me and I help you manifesto” Were these 9 contracts signed even before the announcement?

This is just about the final opportunity to rob the national wealth before UMNO rightfully gets consigned to the dungheap of history.
