To even classify them as “traitors” within their inner political circles will be even worse than a slap in their own faces . Hi Haris,
I tried using Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and I manage to access the M2day site. Thanks.
I just went through a article by RPK on the ‘monster’
thing and I just like you to know I totally agreed with
what he said. Of course a lot of people wants UMNO and BN out of our system, but if our choice is another “monster” than when is it going to get better for us Malaysian. I just want a government that is fair and treats it’s citizen well regardless of race. Our childrens are depending on us.

The USA, UK, even Singapore and many developed countries have their own “ISA” law.
There’s nothing wrong with ISA. It’s the abuse or misuse of it that’s wrong.
Whilst there are people who SAY NO to ISA, there are people who SAY YES too. So why not balance it. Amend the law to ensure that it would not be abushed or misused such as politically motivated arrest.
Has ISA never done any good to the country’s security and peace before? Is it totally useless? How about those involved in smugglings, forgery of national documents, suspected traitors, terrorist threats, communism, acts of crimes where international links are involved? where other acts do not cover these area of security?
Like the saying, politic is not dirty politicians are. When there’s an accident, blame the driver not the car.

If displaying this clip about some show in Trafalgar Square is part of your Blog’s continuing PR exercise then it is ok.
But where the effectiveness of anybody doing anything about it here in Malaysia is concerned, you might as well bark in the Artic Circle or The Antartica.
Such is the problem facing Champions of Democracy in Malaysia, as in elsewhere in the world, including Burma or Afghanistan.
Your Blog is not much different than many of these old school prophets

The common sense based argument used time and time again to justify why ordinary British bobbies on the beat are far safer (to everyone, including to themselves) and more effective in their policing job (against potential criminal elements) without having to carry dangerous weapons like deadly guns on themselves is also pretty much the same justification why it is better for citizens to not allow their governments to enact such dangerous weapons like the ISA for unbridled everyday use/abuse against those whom the government might view, rightly or wrongly, as potential criminal elements and er…enemies of the state.

Mr. C’sense, you seem much too innocent for having common sense.
All the answers to your questions….start with an emphatic NO.
Do you not see that the ISA is an out-dated law…by which a human being, like yourself, is detained without trial. And in detention, not specified or deliberately delayed,or does not know when it will end, is subjected to abuses.
If as many people as you see demonstrating against it,in these clips are visibly and so vocally against it, what is the percentage that are saying yes. And who are these people?
Quite a lot of us care that this country, has such a law against people who are not even proved in the end, to have been such ‘terrible terrorists’.

November 30, 2010
shakuntala,
and what is the percentage that are saying NO. And who are these people?
you mean to say because ISA is out-dated and need to be abolished? Is that your argument to substantiate that the law is useless? How about abolish all laws that are out-dated too because they are legislated at the same time as ISA.
How about USA, Britain, Singapore, Australia which have similar law, are they out-dated too and since they are not Malaysia they can use them?
What a sheer hipocrite these people who demonstrate in London. Demonstrate against the British gomen first maa, coz you are living there.
And you did not get my point of opinion too. Its not about ISA, its about the abuse of ISA.

shakuntala,
and what is the percentage that are saying YES. And who are these people?
its the majority of the people who elected the government of the day, which is BN at this moment. that’s why we have general election to let people decide what is good for them. if people decide to elect Pakatan as the Government of the day, it is that Government who should abolish ISA if they want to, because they have the majority, understand?
and my question to you again shakuntala, what is the percentage that are saying NO. And who are these people?

All this would worth a single cts if UMNO gets 2/3 in the next GE….
With d non stop opposition bashing from Utusan and now from what use to opposition freindly…well that would be a forgone conclusion…..
Sabah n Sarawak will continue to be raped.
I still do not get it, why the bashing now……..UMNO is laughing.

Bashing each other on the good side is needed if you do not want the evil to creep into the good side. Come on, we are many, the evil are few. Bash them. No matter where they are. The rest of us step forward and take their place. I am ready. Anytime.

The PATRIOT Act and the Terrorism Act are the subjects of many protests in their respective countries – some of which have precipitated changes to the Acts to reduce their power. If you saw the USA or the UK “eat shit and die” would that be a good reason to do the same thing?
Calling for “Change of government but keep the law lah” is incompetent. The law is the problem. The ISA and laws like it is like your boss carrying a gun while you do not. Look at it this way: if you had to go into your boss’ office to complain about working conditions, would you rather a padded room with both you and Najib wearing boxing gloves, or would you prefer an empty room with Anwar sitting at one end pointing searchlights in your face from behind a wall of sandbags where he is aiming a heavy machine gun at you and wearing a suicide vest?
We can hope one day to complain to Hannah Yeoh while we’re all armed with teh tariks, but let’s take things one step at a time. Whatever happens next, it would be nice to put the weapons beyond reach.

“And in detention, not specified or deliberately delayed,or does not know when it will end, is subjected to abuses.”
So why the need to abolish ISA. Amend those sections that are subject to abuses. Don’t abolish at the expense of national security and peace.
Btw if the Intelligence received a report that a group of people is planning to carry out terrorist act, do you let these people complete their planning or carry the act before arresting them? What act to use to arrest people who have not committed terrorism but only planning terrorism?

…Btw if the (cooked-up by the police at the instruction of the government maybe?) Intelligence (or not, perhaps, like the non-intelligence that said there were WMD stockpiled in Iraq?) received a report that a group of people (who the government does not like, perhaps, like opposition MPs, civil rights activists?) is planning to carry out terrorist act (er…like threatening national security you mean like the er….government controlled police likes to say at the slightest drop of a hat?), do you let these people complete their planning or carry the act before arresting them (hmm, always an interesting argument isn’t it?)? What act to use to arrest people who have not committed terrorism but only planning terrorism (well, something convenient like the ISA perhaps?)?…..
Or perhaps one can simply stop playing stupid manipulative games and decide to use one’s good sense and rational judgment and just devise a well thought through and eminently sensible piece of legislation called an anti-terrorism law that is both fair and just (like laws are meant to be by the way) and one which is proportionate to the threat faced (again, a common sense based given) instead of trying to be terribly cunning and acting like a schoolyard bully in coming up with something disgusting and odious to Justice and human rights, like the current ISA 1960 shite clearly is for all intents and purposes?
Then I suppose one can add even more good sense to the new anti-terrorism law so that it can only be invoked when there is (a) real trustworthy intelligence from an unbiased and professional (i.e. competent and worthy of respect) security force that such a potential threat from potential terrorist acts does in fact reasonably exist and (b) where any arrest warrant required to arrest anyone for suspected terrorist activities is to be signed off by a Judge i.e. a learned member of an independent and impartial Judiciary held in high esteem by the general public.
But if you have no good sense to speak of nor any good governance from anyone in your government or from other elected representatives in your Parliament and not a shred of evidence of any competence or any professionalism in your public or security services and forces plus no existing independent and impartial Judiciary anymore to act for you in the interest of Justice without fear or favour then perhaps you can see where the problem really lies and why the draconian ISA 1960 is still around today to be used and abused arbitrarily at will against anyone by your government at its singular pleasure and at one of its minister’s, or its police officer’s, behest.

On MCLM faction of 3rd Force :
Haris and RPK themselves BOTH said they would not be running as MPs. What a let down, and they think people will fight battles while they play chess with your life?
These 2 self interest bloggers posing as NGOs have time to change their minds and distance from evil Marina, but even if they do that and lead the charge to challenges MPs as most 3rd forcers want them to, they are already marred in public opinion and could easily be branded ‘cowards in the making who derived strength to run as MPs because of REAL 3rd Forcers.
These 2 flip-flops could be partly useful if they provide funds but by not running, the 3rd Force will become a 3rd Farce in more ways than one and don’t imagine that some philanthropist won’t respond to a REAL 3rd Force’s call for funds.
Change your minds and fight alongside us Haris/RPK or be branded trojans and armchair creeps, even if you do run now, we will however remember this cowardice, if we win as a 3rd Force don’t expect any praise, ‘Yea, they funded and gave expertise but we took all the risk and made all the effort.’ Cynical bastards.
(1) Since MCLM’s 3rd Force faction is likely mostly rubbish, especially without Haris/RPK leading the charge and involved with dr.Evils daughter (shudders at junta-like potentiality of Oligarchy)
(2) Dr.Hsu/KhooKayPeng’s 3rd Force was just a distraction (typical lapdog tactic), I had chased these Gerakan pro-apartheid turncoats down and found that
Dr.Hsu backed out totally after 1 week of formation of his group, not bad they got 300 members but all it does is promote KhooKayPeng’s articles. Yea, like we need another armchair blogger has been politician that won’t better his country.
(3)that leaves Zaid’s 3rd Force faction, which again (but I really hope not) has likelihood that Zaid himself is a trojan. That would mean only 2nd tier non-Ministers or non-MPs would make up the REAL 3rd Force and would have to scavenge for left over leaders for the experience factor.
Zaid, you’re the second last chance a properly trained and experienced leadership.
(4) Otherwise it will be unknowns with pathos and logos of 3rd force idealism, which could win but certainly be susceptible to fumbles on technicalities. Malaysian
Green Party!!! is the only real 3d Force then?
Alot of work from TOTAL scratch. The other outsiders are the Hindraf and NGO-like PSM. But the plan we have (unless implemented by Pakatan which can’t even make people declare assets or embrace term limits) would be the best, even better than US democracy I dare say and thus have it’s own attraction!
Is there a manual on setting up a political party? Any old timers wanting to give civil society in the a chance?
Take a look at “Malaysian Green Party” facebook just in case Zaid is a trojan, the ‘GET REAL’ non-nepotistic/non-750K funeral political party is virtually non-existent and that will be 3rd Force’s niche if Pakatan turns rotten (I know they don’t bother to communicate with people who try to participate – believe me I tried, not a peep from high and mighty a$$3s) Haris/RPK look like deadbeats, especially with Marina ‘Evil’ Mahathiru for a reputational/oligarchic deadweight and a tremendous risk to the citizen.
This is my current analysis of 3d Force and it’s factions, the real 3rd Force is present and ready to be co-opted but every experienced faction looks horrible. PAS could be the one which might push the reforms we have here, but it could also be extremely hierarcial for the free spirited and extremely cosmopolitan liberal bent of REAL 3rd Forcers.
On our own? Lets see what Zaid has to say or if Haris/RPK will turn around to decide to run alongside us and drop Marina (or exclude her from adunship) as well. Jonson or Jenapala types also COULD lead 3rd Force instead of hanging around the BN backed courts, wasting everyone’s time . . .
How about it Tengku Dr. Haris Ibrahim and half blood prince Raja Pertra Kamaruddin? Change your minds and run for election and distance from evil Marina? Please? Or be branded cowards and trojans. Fight the good fight fools, and stop hanging around England, heart of colonialism and it’s NWO/Illumanity/FreeMason trash.
Try Moscow for all future meetings, I’ve contacted PM Dmitry Medvedev for you to hide in Moscow for Raja Petra, how about it, are you with the BRIC/SCO or the NWO/Illuminati? Try giving the ‘right forces’ a call if they don’t contact you first.

I have always maintained that some people ( like APCO ) are great as elite Consultants, such as in telling Najib how to run Malaysia to achieve harmony & perfection, with a 1Malaysia to boot. Of course they charge the sky & the heavens. And by golly ! They sound like so expert , powerful & wonderful. But when it comes to getting things done, they are nowhere to be found ( after taking the money of course ) ! Humbug ! Balderdash ! Cheats ! Conmen !
Are we then talking about Mr RPK & Mr Haris ? Power packed Critics & superb cyber writers par excellente, tv celebrities…& spinners extraordinaire ?
They can write amazing tales, they can criticize with “deep throat” & “my sources” secret info , they can motivate, and get dogs to howl, get thunderous applause & standing ovations after ovations…but
…can they DO IT ? 😦
Your guess is as good as mine
