Astro played a re-run this morning of what, for me, is an all-time classic.
The Scent of a Woman.
Al Pacino at his very best.
I want to share with you his speech in defence of Charlie at the school assembly.
The part I think is relevant runs 25 seconds from 4 minutes and 30 seconds into the video clip and then from 6 minutes and 20 seconds into the video clip to the end.
We need 222 such persons to face BN in the 13th GE.
Pakatan do not have this number from within their ranks.
They have good men and women, yes, but not all the 222 needed.
They therefore should not feign as if they do.
PSM have some.
So do PRM.
And across the south China Sea, so do SAPP and STAR.
Civil society, too, has men and women to offer this cause.
Pakatan can take the lead to build this coalition of men and women to take on UMNO / BN.
And if they will not, well, someone else must.
To adopt the clarion call now ringing loudly in Sabah, ‘INI KALI LAH’!

Look bro,I am not trying to pour cold water into our aim of changing our present goverment.
What are the Pakatan leaders doing? Going into the rural areas and Malay heartland in Peninsular Malaysia almost every night for ceramah is not enough to bring them to Putrajaya.
Simple mathematics shows we really need the support from our East Malaysian betrens support in order to ensure the smooth passage to Putrajaya. Are those Pakatan leaders from Semenanjung doing anything at all to win the hearts of the Sabahns & Sarawakians? Are they really in talks with our betrens from Sapp or Star?
We share a common goal and so do these politicians but unfortunately they are trying to reach Putrajaya in their own routes.
Hate to say this ” GET READY TO BE DISSAPOINTED AGAIN” if they continue with their own agenda.
Common bro,get them to sit down together with NGOs and tell them they need the rakyat
and the must listen to the rakyat voices. Maybe you my friend should chair the meeting and
convince them that they really need to be together as a team to face the mighty BN or else…
……………..bye bye.
potblack,
I will try

En Harris, I totally agree with you. I too watched this film over at astro this morning. Good show 🙂 However, In my humble opinion we ain’t gonna get it from MCLM where RPK is its Chairman…how can an organisation headed by a flip flop with no integrity produce the so call 50 sterling squeaky clean candidates…and trying to shove them down the throats of PR? Ans when his idea or “kingmakership” ambition fell on deaf ears he goes berserk..he’s such a cry baby, should give him a pacifier.
Anyway, after reading a comment from one of your readers, I headed for RPK’s blog and read his article on: Give Me Your Best Shot. What he wrote convince me that this guy is a turncoat..Why? Please read the following:
“Note that Malaysia needs a strong two-party system. We also need a strong opposition to maintain checks and balances.. If not then we would end up with a dictatorship. While I would admit that Anwar Ibrahim makes a good opposition leader who can keep Barisan Nasional on its toes, it does not necessarily mean that a good opposition leader can also makes a good Prime Minister.
And this is my beef. I want Anwar to continue to play the role of a good opposition leader, just like Lim Kit Siang, Karpal Singh, etc., have been doing for many decades, and quite successfully at that too. So maybe if Anwar can plant in his head that we want him as our opposition leader to keep the corrupt and evil government in check then we may see him perform better than he is doing now.” – RPK.
Does this guy truly believe in the Two Party System?….his writing shows that he wants PR to remain in opposition to check the present corrupt BN-UMNO regime? So in other words he wants to maintain the status quo of keeping BN-UMNO regime in power! RPK is a slimy, tongue twisted, evil man with neither integrity nor dignity. 👿
Good for you En Haris that you’ve resigned as president from the tainted MCLM. It shows character.. May God bless you with good health and good tidings to continue in your fight for a better MALAYSIA 😀

Right on Minkmink! Someone should tell RPK..he’s darn right. We definately need a strong opposition to maintain checks and balance…BN-UMNO would make the BEST opposition party in Malaysia better much better than Anwar/Kit Siang/Karpal etc combined. Vote BN-UMNO out to ensure we have a great opposition party.
So why worry if PR or anyone else form the next government? OUST the corrupt BN-UMNO..

I just read Steve Job’s biography. There’s a chapter there, the title of which struck me – “the result is the journey”. Am not trying to sell the book or champion for Jobs (yall can get it from iTunes for free anyway). The point being that all the political parties are selling something, using their personalities and other strategies to do the selling. IMHO – Caveat emptor (kæviːɑːt ˈɛmptɔr/) – “Let the buyer beware”…meaning – the rakyat beware.
Its still a journey for us Msian rakyat. Come GE 13th, BN/UMNO is going to remain in power, but not with a two third majority. So, we need an opposition – screwed up as they are – they’re the best we got. We will have to journey on. MCLM, KITA, or whatever Third Force can make a difference, but the way it is going, its also another journey because self-acclaimed third force leaders like rpk and zaid are screwing it up for all of us. And UMNO/BN got their own cyber troopers like that brew fler, big dog and pariah dog and dog shit doing their campaigns.
My bet is on ABU, because, looking at history of social change, real change always came from below – its the subaltern theory – and definitely not top down. And that’s what we’re not taking into account because the bloggers out there analyzing things are seeing top down and vertical approaches. And these top down blogger analysts are calling everyone (the rakyat) stupid or stupid or ignorant, because the rakyat don’t buy into their blah, blah, blah…
the rakyat are not stupid…we know…we don’t have the means and the wealth to do the talk, or write blogs, or travel here and there. We don’t have the time, like some others, to preach and postulate online, because we have a family and a job (some of us don’t have a decent job), and many other responsibilities to attend to. But, we still make the time, when we can, to join a Bersih demonstration or an ABU meeting, after dropping the kids home, after work.
And we will vote, even if we don’t have time for the demos and the blogs……I think those bloggers like Haris are in touch with the grassroots feelings and voices…that’s going to make the difference….

Does MCLM still exist?
Thought it was disbanded, when Haris pulled out.
Did not realize that its image poster is still gracing the top right hand side of this blog page and the ABU poster is under it!
So which one is more important now……….surely ABU.

Advance AbU…..
Whatever, we leave behind must be left behind. without regrets….we should not even look over our shoulders to feel the slightest remorse.
Chuck out old shoes…..is the most current logo, everywhere now.
Does the size fit for UMNO/BN?

BN can come up with good youngman. As for PR they love recycling, especially dap.Old horses should be let out to pasture. They may be good during their youth, but many do not keep up with times except their private business
Imagine the slogan such as this in uk Anything but labour or anything but conservative. It makes the two party system a mockery as it is exclusive and not inclusive,The spirit should be may the best party win.Democtacy have been turned into a hate machine,
We have a duty to God,if one Ihave to select between a fool from umno and a sodomist,my vote is for umno.Similarly I will oppose anything but indian,or chinese. We select the candidate based on merit and their sincerity to serve.
