Many of you responded to my ‘Call to those at the Bar Council’ post with very useful information.
From eyewitness accounts, I think we can safely say that even after the protestors had advanced to within 10 feet or so from the rows of FRU at the Bar Council site, there was no provocation of any sort from the former directed at the latter.
As for the matter of who removed the barricade at the Bar Council, useful information has come in, but I would like to defer proffering a point of view until I get some information, if it is possible, on what had transpired at the junction of Jalan Tun Perak and Jalan Raja.
At about 2am on the morning of the rally, Hawkeye and I were at that junction to witness a crowd of protestors numbering between 1000 – 2000 who were already there.
The first video below, 25 seconds into the same, shows the razor barbed wire at the same junction still standing.
In the second video, which shows the metal barricade being removed to allow for protestors to pass through, the razor barbed wire appears to no longer be there.
Is this correct?
If so, did anyone see how and when the barbed wire was removed?
Again, comments shedding light on this, or an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with information would be most appreciated.
