At the historic Hari Bangsa Malaysia : Selamatkan Demokrasi gathering at the KL & Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall last night, several NGOs issued the following statement :
On 10th May, 2013, Solidariti Mahasiswa Malaysia (SMM), supported by Solidariti Anak Muda Mahasiswa Malaysia (SAMMM) and several other NGOs, submitted a memorandum to the Elections Commission (EC)to :-
- place on record the concerns of the rakyat with regard to the widespread irregularities and fraud observed on polling day on 5th May;
- demand that the EC forthwith proffer explanations in respect of the numerous matters raised in the memorandum;
- declare that the rakyat reject the outcome of the 13th General Election as announced by the EC;
- demand, given that the present EC, given the manner of their conduct of the 13th GE, are perceived as biased and totally unprofessional, that a new Election Commission be immediately constituted, thus requiring the present EC forthwith tender their resignations;
- demand that a newly constituted EC, comprising individuals of unquestionable integrity and who will enjoy the confidence of the rakyat, oversee the holding of fresh elections;
- declare that any government now appointed under the leadership of Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak does not enjoy the mandate of a majority of legitimate voters.
We also note that subsequent to the presentation of the memorandum, the EC had been given seven (7) days to respond, failing which, the rakyat would take to the streets in protest to pursue these demands.
We have since read in full the memorandum presented to the EC and now indorse the memorandum in solidarity with SMM, SAMMM and the several other NGOs.
We also join SMM, SAMMM and the several other NGOs in warning the EC that unless these demands are adhered to, they will have to face protests by the rakyat until these demands are met.

- Kill The Bill
- Mama Bersih
- Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM)
- Tindak Malaysia
- Parti Rakyat Malaysia
- REFSA
- GM13
- PRO-Mahasiswa
- Angkatan Pembebasan Bangsa Malaysia
At the end of the evening’s program, a declaration was drafted, read out to and approved by all present.
The declaration, in substance :
We, the rakyat, reject the results of the 13th GE as announced by the EC, and call for the resignation or sacking of the presently constituted EC.
We demand that fresh elections, free and fair, be held and be conducted by a newly constituted EC that enjoys the confidence of the rakyat.
To this end, we call on 1 million rakyat to rally in Kuala Lumpur on a date soon to be set.

yeah I think simultaneous PEACEFUL rallies across Malaysia led by a group of NGO and Pakatan leaders will be more effective and sends the message across. also a logistical nightmare for them to send their FRU clowns nationwide. definitely NO kids allowed please as I’ve seen many attend the BERSIH n Kelana jaya rallies. could turn volatile n we don’t want that

The dismissal of this Umno chosen and nominated EC should not, to begin with, have been the EC, but again if that had taken place. Umno would have been gone sometime ago. Umno knew long time ago, the only way to stay in power is to have their man placed as EC who can then do many things in favour of Umno.
How else do you think, aside from fraudulent means like importing millions of foreign muslims and making them as instant citizens on condition that they cast their votes for the rapscallions from Umno to remain in Putrajaya. Therefore these Umno rapscallions knew long time ago that they are going to be kicked out of Putrajaya soon. They implemented project ‘M’ plus the many other deceitful means to stay on as tenants in Putrajaya. And most of all they also have the EC to come up with ways like gerrymandering for Umno to win the elections. The 13th GE is a good example of what the EC can do for the Umno morons as a last resorts to stay on in Putrajaya even though Umno was not the majority winners in the election.
Umno is able to put in place all the deceitful means solely because of their political power they have for so many decades. More than that they also have all their men, like the police, the army, the AG, the Judiciary, just to name a few examples, placed in these positions just to ensure they will stay and remain in Putrajaya forever. One most important thing they can’t buy and manipulate, at their whims and fancies, are the decisions of the voters thus the results of the 13th GE.
Typical of them, they put the blame on the Chinese, for their disastrous elections results, the Chinese are easy targets. How can it be when the Chinese are the minority The Chinese Malaysians are getting smaller by the days, at the rates the professional Chinese Malaysians are immigrating. One day will come when there are insignificant number of them will be left in Malaysia, who will left to be blamed for all their all failures in life ? Yet they have Talent Corp. going round the world, pleading and begging for the very Chinese they so fondly of blaming for their shortcomings to return to serve the country and I might add with incentives and added incentives to return to Malaysia to serve the country. Now you know why the Talent Corp. is unable to convince the professionals Chinese to return. They must think the professional are, just like the rapscallions themselves, only interested in money and nothing else in life. Please treat the causes of the problems and not the symptoms !

If you can get a million people to show up at a rally, you can get them to stay away from work. Organise a nationwide hartal instead. It is so easy to lead a large rally to violence, either through pro-government plants or the FRU. In a hartal, no one gets hurt. Since they introduce hantu to GE13, we’ll turn KL to a ghost town…

S. Menon
May 14, 2013
I would very strongly urge everyone to step back and look at this VERY objectively.
Yes, BN has cheated to win this election.
Yes, getting putting it right will be next to impossible given the current skewed legal system and flawed judiciary.
However, going the “Arab Spring” way will have disastrous consequences. It is VERY likely to lead to violent resistance since the Police will go all out to prevent the assembly. And UMNO would like nothing better than to use this as an excuse to clamp down on all protesters. The ISA will be evoked, and all opposition leaders will be seen and/or treated as seditious, as enemies of the State. The nett result would be the proclaimation of Emergency Rule.
I would suggest, as I once did earlier, that a widespread Hartal be organised throughout Malaysia. Not just a one-off event but a total cessation of all activity for one day every week until the Government is forced to the negotiating table.
Sorry to be such a dampener but, at this stage, it is vital that we think this through strategically, tactically and, as we would during a chess game, anticipate what the official responses are likely to be.
Menon,
No need to apologise, bro.
At this stage, I value all thoughts.
And yours are constructive

May 14, 2013
Haris, I sort of agree with S. Menon on this. We have to accept the reality that there is no way we can get the GE13 results overturned. What we need to work to is getting rid of the existing election commission, and to that end maybe also a petition to his majesty the Agong?

To those armchair critics who are questioning whether it can / cannot work: are you going to sit, or are you going to march?
It does not matter whether it is 1,000,000 of 100,000 or 10,000. Fraud has happened, and street is the only way to reverse it. The government controls the courts, police, press, and election commission. Going to sleep for 5 years is exactly what Najib wants from you. So why on earth, are you listening to Najib?

S Menon has a good point. The Hartal alternative is more practical and can actually be extended/expanded gradually and indefinitely, unlike a one-off rally. Not sure how to go about it. Maybe start off narrow and focussed – like maybe boycott 1 petrol company like Petronas (go for alternative brands). And one brand of bread – maybe Gardenia. Boycott all MSM papers. And so on. Save the massive rally as the last resort.
Can’t have you behind bars, Haris.

Some of you propose we wait 5 years and try again. Understand though that by then there will be a re-delineation of constituencies which will more heavily be weighted in favour of rural areas. The race card as we can now witness already happening will be played to the hilt. By then we may muster 60% or more of the total vote and still end up with a minority of parliamentary seats. What then? Wait yet another 5 years for the same?
Bringing profound change requires sacrifice. Those who advocate less drastic measures, i ask you to ponder over the future of your children and the generations to come. Do we leave behind for them a corrupt nation divided by race and on the verge of bankruptcy just because we chose to turn the other cheek?

We must go ahead with this Himpunan Satu Juta, however, unrealistic the numbers may be
In my view, it is not unrealistic at all, as most cities had their mega ceramahs pre-505 which saw attendance of 50,000 to over 100,000 people
But let us not discourage ourselves by the target, for the target is just a target, as if we cannot achieve it, it is fine, but if we can achieve it, it will be great
The more important point here is the statement which we will make
We certainly cannot wait until GE14, for God knows what will happen to the nation in GE14, perhaps worse than Greece …
Of course, we will not know what will happen, but at the very least, we shall have hope that with this congregation, it will catalyse other things, peaceful, of course
If they had been so blatant at GE13, and if we just let them go without a major statement, God knows what else they will come up with at GE14 (ie something different to Banglas, helicopter ballot papers, and blackouts), something which we will not be able to predict, and in likelihood, they will “govern” (read “hijack”) the nation perpetually (ie they are already saying “we don’t give a (beep) to what you say, for we will just hijack the nation the way we like it, and you cannot do anything about it”)
So, yes, we must go ahead
Will be there

This is dedicated to a sad and degraded Malaysia humiliated under the Hydra-like pariah bastards in the UMNO/BN Behemoth:
This poem is dedicated to the Soul of Free Democratic Malaysia:
Robert Frost 1874 – 1963
THE ROAD NOT TAKEN
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.
No authority without accountability.
People should not be afraid of their governments; governments should be afraid of their People.
You have the power to choose for the Malaysia you and your family wish to see and live and be happy in, so choose wisely!

Haris,
I am glad I was there last night at the Dewan Perhimpunan Cina.
It was a bit hard to find as I am a stranger to KL – us kampung boys are dazzled by the bright lights and all the taxidrivers take advantage of us. Never mind, I know they struggle to make a living so I tipped them anyway.
I was rather disappointed that you walked in and sat down with no fanfare. I had expected you to be accompanied by two Teutonic females in Visigoth armour, with the usual lightning and thunder.
But meeting you and talking to you more than made up for the disappointment I felt. 🙂
I will be unable to attend future gatherings for a while as I have other commitments elsewhere but I will be still posting.

Millions, are you joking-there are more than a million people who were there at the rally-some physically, others in mind and spirit-the latter were domestically in Malaysia and HUNDREDS of thousands all over the world. I sit here in thousands of miles away in Maryland and cheer on Malaysians and brave patriots like Haris (whom I know for many years but not seen him recently)
We are as Martin Luther King says-we are many colours but one DREAM! Our dream is a strong united Malaysia –not being ruled by a collective dictatorship. We want new, fresh Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous Malaysian leaders and not a collection of families who run Malaysia. When we are honest and truthful-nothing can shake us.
A retired Judge suggests that the Malays will punish the Chinese. This is mischievous. Anyone in a democracy can vote any party or individual. In fact, this is seditious because Malays and Indians also voted for the opposition. I want change!
Finally, its millions who don’t want a government that segregates races and allows illegal immigrants to enter Malaysia, so that it can stay in power. Stand up for your rights at least once in our lives!

Khalid is the new IGP. He is a sadistic psycho and will cause max.harm to the peaceful rally goers. So we have to meet to draw up our strategy. wednesday event at KelanaJaya had close to 200k supporters inspite of short notice and on a mid-week. Lets start work on the drawing board and 1 million it shall be. btw, Khalid may be vicious but he is also a very stupid country idiot with 0-IQ.

Can we not publish the details of the members of the Election Commission, and send them the petition individually, and see if they would take that step on an individual purpose level?
Whilst we indeed want the No: 1 and No: 2 to go, but maybe the other individuals in the Commission need just a nudge or a push…with the No: 1 and No: 2 being the final dominoes.
Yes I agree that it should be a Collective Responsibility…but what about an implosion from within?.

Haris please consider seriously the Hartal like many others have suggested. A combination of this, civil disobedience & boycott of UMNO related goods (Anything But Umno’s products & services) is worth a try in my humble opinion, failing which take to the streets -I’m afraid this is what the govt is waiting for, to lead us to violence & the declaration of emergency, which can take years, not just 5.

mr haris, may i say that i fully support your objectives; at the same time i fully agree with tempatan.
i will go with you, but i would prefer that the people are completely informed about what it is, why they’re there and what they should/shouldn’t do. there should be leaflets for everyone, and everyone who attends must be responsible for cleaning up at the end of the day. i would prefer an “organised” protest that catches the police and the government by surprise and shock, that they will not be able to prepare for. someone mentioned a synchronous protest all over the country – that’s a brilliant idea too.
lastly, we should consider our own task force to control / direct the crowd.

I do believe that there should be some pressure from our vast number of NGOs to separate executive power from crucial institutions. I disagree with election call again which serves no purpose to rakyat except for glorifying Pakatan politicians. but I will support wholeheartedly if it is on a mission or movement to separate executive power. Bersih to some extent has won some demands. As a rakyat, we want to be incharge regardless whether PR or BN rules on police, judiciary and EC. If rakyat can get back the power from these institution, lots of things can be changed and achieved.

For me it is so simple. This regime cheated. It has no regard nor respect for the wishes of the rakyat. It wants to stay in power and to do so it broke numerous laws of the land. Not only that. It corrupted so many of the rakyat by buying their votes with money. It used foreigners to defy the wishes of the rakyat, robbed us of our right to choose our representatives, imposed on us its will, its might and its awful racism.
It is a monster that must go. And since God stands for righteousness, truth and justice, BN has actually signed its death warrant. It will go.

I have read all the responses that i commented.The language that you potray reflects the mind you are wearing.I wonder what will happen to this country given you people as the administratorYou people only believe what is appropriate to you and humiliate others who is not on your path.Be reminded that if you people are in power,there will be opposition.So,without power you have shown tyranny in words,I wonder what happens if power comes to your corridor.

Salam TUN,
I am retiree from my own business.I moved my family to Kuantan from Kuala Lumpur.I find peace and tranquility facing the South China Sea.But, now I am saddened with the current politics in the country.How my children gonna face in years to come.Politicians bickering at each other,1 year already wasted.If in business 1 week without any closed deal, means 3 months down the line means trouble in getting the overhead cleared let alone talking about profit. Please do something TUN.Majority of the politicians we have in UMNO are lickers.They are empty cans,as a result they play money politics in order to win(source from govt. tenders)as such they are tight lip in addressing issues which affects their livelihood.At least our former DeFacto law minister has the guts to quit and put his foot down.
I agree with that BN is still the best party at this time,what we need is a concerted effort from all parties to sit down and think of reengineering back BN,personal and race matter aside.
The only person that can bring all BN component parties together is only YOU TUN.

His own children are suffering and he does nothing to help them.

Hi Haris, Please consider Hartal. If it is really not an option I suggest that everyone leave their cars at home and walk to the biggest padang in the area they live in ( can be previously earmarked), stay there for a specified time, sing solidarity songs- no speeches. In that way, it will be peaceful and practical. In every city, every taman, every village…take photographs & videos

Yes, flood the streets of Kuala Lumpur…the more the merrier! Shall we also call for a boycott of all UMNO/BN friendly businesses?…no, I think not. We the good people of Malaysia will not stoop to the level of those Muslim NGO dickheads who have suggested clobbering Chinese businesses…. who were Pakatan friendly.

hi haris,
I have a suggestion. Nowadays umno is filled with bunch of capitalist. In order to weaken umno we have to cut their oxygen supply. I would rather suggest to boycott this crony,biz as much as we could. Can you imagine with rm 10 withdrawal from cimb for each 1mill peoples, the lost reserve of 10mil. Cut off the biz with this cronies. Hope you will endorse my suggestion.

Pakatan knew the “rules of the game” long before, i.e: the party with most number of seats, and NOT necessarily the most no.of votes, gets to form the govt. No use complaining about foul-play now. Instead work on winning over the majority, in EVERY constituency. If there was electoral fraud, bring forth the hard evidence to a court of law. Demos and hartals are your right, but it is not going be of any good, and may actually turn popular opinion against you becos the ones who suffer are the common people

Aaaah Haris Ibrahim. Looks like you want to do a farewell tour too, like what Anwar is doing now.
Except Anwar is an actual political leader.
You’re just a vengeful loser so desperate for attention, that you’d cut off the nose to spite the face.
Listen to the Godfather Karpal, the only honest man in the Pakatan leadership roster, and fight the election results the proper way.
You and your motley crew will hardly be able to gather 1000 people, max. Watch may words. Because while millions support Pakatan, only max 1000 small-minded morons will support a revolution on the streets.
We already saw how the Arab Spring CRIPPLED Egypt, years after it is over. Only a delusional, self-indulgent asshole like you, and flaccid armchair revolutionaries like your blog commentators, will want that. Everybody else else wants a prosperous country.

If it’s not just a figure of speech to have a rally of one million, then we can have many rallies all over Malaysia on a single day, after all who’s there to count the numbers. We say 1.5 million, the police may give an estimate of 200 thousands.

And btw. dear Smart@$$ medias, mainstream, alternative or armatures; please stop analysing everything that comes out from the mouth of Najib, UMNO or BN, there is nothing credible in them. Just more spins to divert our attention from the election fraud.
Let’s get things on the chopping block already. We are tired to the daily spinning’s from the media, gives us a migraine. Najib El-Munafiqi, UMPORNO and Barisan Bangla Pengsonglap Nasional are nothing more than a bunch of benighted, demagogues “DJ Spin-Master”. Understand that when their lips move, it means there are lying.
Following United States stand on Malaysian electoral process, Catherine Ashton of the European Union had also delivered their affirmative poise over Najib Tun Razak’s self-proclaimed win.
All these racist rhetoric’s are just to divert attention from the swelling ground on fraudulent electoral. So media, PLEASE for fck-sake stop analysing everything that comes out from their mouth, nose, @$$ or their brain.
