Utusan Malaysia’s Awang Selamat has told the Umno-owned paper to stop taking the airline’s ads until its sister company’s chief executive apologises for criticising the broadsheet’s racist piece – reported in the Malaysianinsider on 19th May.
So, no apology, no Air Asia ads in Utusan?
Here’s the deal, Tony.
No more Air Asia ads in Utusan and I continue to fly Air Asia.
Can we support this, folks?
As part of a HARTAL Utusan campaign?
In fact, shall we start to target the advertisers in Utusan?
Have your say on this.

Tony, you still have a strong 52% Malaysians willing to take AirAsia for their travel needs…tell these UMNO arse wipers go and play marbles! Use your savings from not advertising in the shit papers to give the public more promotional flights….then, your slogan, “Everyone now can fly” into reality.

Haris if you can institute a “HARTEL” of not only utasan but other BN pro business it would be great. I say you to lead it because led by a Malay will give credibility. It would also be good if the participants are not restricted to non Malays but participated by MALAYSIANS.
The Star could be a close 2nd.

I don’t read Utusan. If someone could list out the big-time advertisers, we could narrow it down to one or two “boycottable” ones. Then we could pass the word around and JOINTLY go for a 3 to 6 month sustained boycott.

Just got this from Malaysian Insider: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is scheduled to deliver the opening address at the landmark global gathering Women Deliver 2013 Conference at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) here, next Tuesday.
What say we form a small picket at the entrance of the gathering? Black shirts and all!

My pledge that if AA do not advertise on Utusan Mampos, AA will be my first choice of airline.
Similarly if AA ads appear on Utusan Mampos again, I will boycott AA. But Haris or someone else need to inform us on this blog if this happened as I don’t read the toilet paper at all.
My right hand is up when typing this message. I am typing using my left thumb!

negative publicity is always a turn off for potential advertisers, no need to make boycott threats but very subtle allegories to those who place adds at utusan may be associated with their racist stand and risk the ire of the public.no body wants bad business.soap nor shampoo companies.

Utusan represent the mentality of UMNO members and leaders.I just wonder how UMNO going to manage the multiracial country like Malaysia.
No wonder, when Lee Kuan Yew,won the election in Singapore, the first theing he did was to close Utusan Melayu operation in Singapore and to ban the Utusan in Singapore until day.
Singapore prosper without Utusan.

Apa kena mengena dengan “muka kafir” pulak? Ini saja ke yang yang kau dapat lafazkan sebagai tanda tidak sokong pada sesuatu cadangan yang tidak sehaluan? Very revealing about the substance of your character.

Harris,
Dont forget…. Air Asia brought in those phantoms from Sabah to KLIA…. remember those emails…
I can support the CEO of Air Asia X only in personal capability…. I am boycotting Air Asia and Tony Fernandez as well
TTo others, i suggest Hartal… boikot Stesen minyak PETRON and downgrade your Astro to basic or remove it if can…. same goes for TheStar , NST and Utusan… not forgetting TV3…

As Kadir Jasin told me at one of our 2007 forums: Buy MSM if you have to housetrain your cats!
Invictus
May 23, 2013
Having had cats for much of the past decades, I have to concur with Kadir Jasin. Pay attention now, people, while I give you the benefit of my vast experience. Utusan, because of its thin paper quality, is ideal for soaking up the pee of recalcitrant kittens. Now, when the newsagents down the road run out of Utusan (which invariably happens when a salacious sex/sodomy/tangkap basah case is being reported), I find the New Straits Times to be a fairly good alternative. The pee doesn’t soak in quite as well, but it does last a bit longer before you have to throw the paper away. As for the other member of the Unholy MSM Trinity, I can testify that The Star, with its thicker, glossier quality, lends itself to scooping of poop really well.

I have always maintained that when you advertise on any platform you support that platform’s position. The last time I looked Utusan seemed to carry only government advertisements and one or two housing developers in rural areas. Obviuoly only if you sanction Utusan’s opinions and messages do you advertise in it. So if Air Asia had previously advertised there, it directly is telling the readers that it also sanctions the message and the opinions.
