Despite earning a civil servant’s salary for three decades, Taib Mahmud, the powerful chief minister of Malaysia’s Sarawak state, is reputed by critics to be one of Asia’s richest men.
Taib, 77, and his family are accused of massive corruption and running Malaysia’s largest state like a family business, controlling its biggest companies with stakes in hundreds of corporations in Malaysia and abroad.
A Rolls Royce and flashy jet cover his transportation, while a vast war chest has kept his political authority unrivalled in 32 years in charge of the resource-rich Borneo island state, which remains one of Malaysia’s poorest – South China Morning Post.

So the EC staged a pre-election photo of the black-out as proof that numerous blackouts during vote counting were lies. Otherwise why would he be so quick to say that the “photo in question” was taken before the election? Only the perpetrators of the crime (fraud) would know this detail.
This is well tested deception ploy. Good try EC. We are not stupid to fall for your old bag of tricks.

it is all up to the sarawakian people to make the move and change it!
those elected only have self interest at heart. they know how corrupt the white hair was,
yet still, they are so proud of defending the seat! looking at them asking for position make no different! the white hair is still there to sapu more! shame on them!

If the current status quo of the UMNO Behemoth prevails for five more years, then until one cracks that difficult “informed Sarawakian citizen” nut with an appropriate sledgehammer, Taib will persist and continue to corrupt and decimate what’s left of Sarawak until he drops dead and can’t (personally) plunder any more of it, or there is nothing of any value left in Sarawak to be plundered by him or anyone else.
That is the reality I am afraid.

The Sarawakians don’t seem to take it upon themselves to do much, about this glaring thief and plunderer….is it fear or the fact that the bugger has been at it for so long that they accept it as second nature.Or they think that their country’s wealth will not diminish. One Sarawakian women was heard to have said, when questioned about his excesses, “Oh we also have our ancestral lands” The kind of familiarity that fails to breed contempt.

EVERYONE knows he is corrupted and he and his family thrown in jail as well as their wealth confiscated. Like it or not he got it right – Rural Sarawakians don’t care he is corrupted because they don’t get it how their poverty/desperation and Taib & Co being corrupted got to do with it..
