The Star headlined today “Was she the target” speculating on the possibility that Taiwanese tourist Chang An Wei, 58, could have been targeted by abductors “because of her links to Taiwan’s First Lady or the wealth she shared with her husband” who was killed in the attack.
Pray tell me, the likelihood for a bunch of renegade pirates would have the intelligence network to single-out the backgrounds of every individual tourist here before making a hit? As though having her husband killed and she herself kidnapped wasn’t good enough for publicity!
Such negative reports will render her family in a precarious situation and her own life at a risk. If this is not irresponsible journalism, I do not know what else to call it!
