We refer to the sudden resignation of Lee Chin Cheh, vacating N26, the Kajang state seat, thereby forcing a by-election to be held within 60 days.
In the spirit of ” Ketuanan Rakyat” advocated by PKR since 2004, the party should have had prior consultation with the Rakyat of Selangor and the voters of Kajang. This would have put paid to the unwarranted speculation, and the present public condemnation.
Be that as it may, we are more than willing to support any logical and strategic move to install a Pro-Rakyat government in Putrajaya but need to understand the real reasons behind the “Kajang Move”.
We call upon the PKR/PR leadership to be accountable to the Rakyat by providing an honest and truthful explanation on the rationale for this unexpected strategic gambit. This would prove that a PR government in Putrajaya would not only be a responsible one, but one that can be trusted by the Rakyat.
In this time of rising cost of living, our priority should be to extend all effort and assistance to the huge marginalised populace which is facing hardship in their livelihood. This is the primary duty of governance in which the people come first.
We hope wisdom will prevail and the PR leadership will focus on winning back the trust of the people to achieve the ultimate goal of installing a Pro-Rakyat Government in Putrajaya.
