In September, 2009, Marina Mahathir wrote of “The Ugly Malay”.

She was referring to those who were involved in the ‘cow head protest’ and the shouting down of a state-sponsored dialogue in relation to the controversy of the relocation of a Hindu temple in Shah Alam.

Since that posting, the ugly Malays have reared their ugly head time and again.

The latest being at a protest at Jalan Tun Perak in Kuala Lumpur yesterday by a group led, it is reported, by a group of Muslim NGOs where chickens were slaughtered and their blood splattered on racist and highly provocatively-worded banners.

If that was not enough, Muslim Consumers Association of Malaysia (PPIM) activist Mustafa Hamzah, flanked with banners calling for the same, offered RM500 to anyone who would slap MP for Seputeh, Teresa Kok.

Soon after Marina’s posting, I wrote about “The beautiful Malay”.

And yes, even as the faces of the ugly Malays keep popping up ever so often. beautiful Malays, all be it small in numbers, step forward.

Marina and friends recent fellowship with the Christians following the controversy of the raid and confiscation of the Holy Bibles comes immediately to mind.

In all this, it is the ugly Malaysian who goes unnoticed.

Who is he / she?

He / she sees the evil perpetrated by the ugly Malays but contents himself with unleashing his / her anger / frustration / etc by commenting here and in other cyber sites, and does little else.

He / she sees the evil when the Shia and the Ahmadiah in the country are persecuted by the authorities but justifies his / her doing nothing by labelling this injustice as a “Muslim issue” rather than a human rights violation.

Lawyer Fadiah Nadwa Fikri is reported by Malaysiakini as saying that the acts of Mustafa Hamzah and the other protestors have occasioned serious criminal offences.

Fadiah is correct.

Teresa has lodged a police report, but I doubt if that will get very far.

Are you an ugly Malaysian, too?

No?

Great!

Its a little after 5pm now, which means the weekend is about to kick in.

Let’s all go to the nearest police station this weekend, lodge police reports against these ugly Malays and shame the police authorities if they do not do anything.

I will be lodging my report at the Brickfields police station either tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Beautiful Malaysians, arise!
